Chris Powell:

“There will always be links, because we have good players here; ones that can play at a higher level. We understand that.

“Jacob is a key player for this football club. Nobody wants to move Jacob away; I know the Chairman is adamant he doesn’t want him leaving, like all of us here. I’m sure people are looking at the rumours, but I’m positive this won’t happen. He is integral to our plans.

“He came here after a tough time at his previous club and we gave him the opportunity to play. I want to continue to do my best to build a team around a very good player like him, so we won’t entertain any move away.”

When are you going to post this and the antonio article ? Don't leave it too long because I'll be making my way to the match soon

I'e already posted the Butterfield one. We've had a bid rejected, and Huddersfield have put a £5 million price-ta on his head in order to warn off a second bid.

We're going to have to dig deep if we want him.

Is Jacob now unsettled? Transfer request would upset the apple cart. Huddersfield are not going to go the Premiership any time soon are they.

Even if he handed in a transfer request I can see their chairman refusing it. I had a read through his Q&A answers tonight and he just seems like he's arrogant and what he wants, he gets. Powell wanted to re-sign Gobern to a new contract and the chairman refused and called him a 'sick note' during the Q&A. He's said Vaughan won't get a new deal because he's always injured too. So he's ignoring Powell's (And probably the player's) wishes

Huddersfield Town have rejected two bids from Derby County for midfielder Jacob Butterfield, chairman Dean Hoyle has confirmed.

Hoyle told BBC Radio Leeds that the 25-year-old ex-Barnsley and Norwich man is not for sale.

Butterfield joined Town from Middlesbrough in August 2014 and scored six goals in 46 games last season.
