The report said that Sammon still had a year on his contract, so Aberdeen wanted him on loan for next season. At the very least 11 players will go and they won't be missed and we could easily replace them with promotions from the U21's. I personally think he needs a good run in the team to show exactly what he was bought here for in the first place.
