CumbrianRam
Whenever I think of Middlesbrough, I just think 'urgh' I don't know why. I would not at all mind not playing them ever again, though. If they were a stable Premier League club then I'd happily just chill in the second division. Easy life. They're a **** Sunderland.

RamNut
They seemed alright when we had commons bueno cywka and stuffed them. They were pretty honest and complimentary on their forum at that time .....only about 300 turned up then. Bit different on tuesday. But they havent had much to cheer about for a while. I dont mind them tbh.
DesertRam
I always believed that everything north of Sheffield was depression and hovis, Lowry paintingswith a skyline full of factories, and smoking chimneys etc..you know.... where the people look slightly greyish.flat caps, Wippets running amok and stuff.!!!!!!!!!!The mrs supports Boro. ossieram
As someone has already mentioned, Last season a load of lads went up for a DLF 30th anniversary drink and ended up being escorted past the pub that a lot of the old Frontline lads drink in. This ruffled a few feathers and there has been bickering on both sides since. Loads of Derby went up again this season and Boro decided to try and return the compliment. The only winner every time was plod. They had loads of Derby basically held prisoner in a pub in town on Tuesday for around 7 hours with the threat of arrest if they tried to leave the pub. IlsonDerby
I always assumed it was down to the miners strikes. The miners up there striked where as a lot down here didn't and that's what originally caused a rift so to speak. Or at least that's what an elderly taxi driver once told me... WharfedaleRam
Born and bred in the NE and lived there through the miners' strike. Main angst was in the Durham coalfield area and not Teesside, so can't believe there's much in that. Lived near Middlesbrough for 5 years too and they always thought they were better than us and tbh, apart from the odd Rams win at Ayresome Park and one memorable game at the Riverside, we've never had much luck there. All of their travelling support deserve 10 season tickets each to avoid the glory hunters who no doubt will all flock back to see Premier League games and disappear into their holes again the season after when they get relegated. 17,000 loyal supporters, the rest bo??ocks (and it has little or nowt to do with jobs and income)! boro66
Not sure about that money jobs and income thing although it can be exaggerated. Derby have a fairly progressive pricing structure unlike Boro who whilst season ticket prices have been frozen maybe since relegation are still some of the most expensive in The Championship. To underline that I would say two things. Last season Boro had a couple of games when they reduced prices. Attendances went up to 25/27k. Boxing Day this season v Forest nearly 33k and a good proportion of those are fans who have left the area for work, home for Christmas.I sat in one of the main stands at Citeh this season for £22. Equivalent seat at Boro £40. And the Etihad had cushions! You are right about the 16/17k core support though.

Spanish
I've seen comments on social media from Middlesbrough fans hoping Forest can replace Derby in the top 6.Is there any history between Derby and Middlesbrough?

One night some thieves broke in looking for cups, the only ones they found were in the canteen...... I played on Ayresome Park many many years ago and believe you me it was a ***** pitch.....
