Could Thorne be back for Bournemouth?

Too many unknowns. I'm sure that the club will formulate a target date, but I doubt that it will be anything more than that. If we see Thorne before March, that will be a huge bonus.

Late February minimum. Got to train for a couple of weeks, presume he doesn't have any niggles or set-backs which happen quite often, then a couple of reserve games... and then dislodge a starter. I'd also try ease him into a home game.

2 games, based on the above, I'd target are Charlton at home 24th Feb and Birmingham at home 7th March.

I truly hope we do not see GT until mid March

He has a whole career in front of him .....so as much as we would like to see him back earlier, even if he is fit and bombing around in under 21 games for 60 minutes, it is nothing like a first team game ...in that he does nt have to fully exert himself in an U21 game

To see him play before season's end will be a true delight for us all.

That is likely the only realistic aim ....have GT play in two or three games and complete 60minutes in a first team game by the season's end to give him confidence for the following season and pre season that he can play in first team games

With such a significant injury and one which he has had before, I think it makes sense to take it slowly. It's only natural that he'll be raring to go and want to be out there playing again as soon as possible, but I think we should protect his interests as well as our own.

Give him as much time as he needs - hopefully it'll be a case of taking the entire season to recover and getting himself right for pre-season.

He is an exciting young player and I'm sure he is missed but we are coping reasonably well without him.

until we hit the time of season where Eustace yellow and red cards rack up :-(    Another ban for 10 yellows is just around the corner ........

Be fascinating if we could secure a loan for CDM position of a Thorne level player from a Premier League ...?  Unlikely I know .......but would ease pressure to play GT earlier than is needed.

Looks like he's tweeted to say he's back in training, which is great. But yeah, no rushing him I'd hope.

Looking at his wba injury he did it in Jan and was back training for around October, going to watford in November, so that'd mean March / April if he recovers in a similar timeframe for us.

Do I remember correctly that he didn't do brilliantly for Watford?  Might be next season before we see him fully flying.

At the end of the day, the medical team at Derby are professionals. He's being sent to further specialists in that field and they'll rule when he is fit to play.

If we have a bunch of ACL experts saying he's fully recovered and is fit to play then Mac will play him. If not then he won't play, simple. In other words, I can't see him being rushed back so the first game he starts in will most likely be the first game he's ready to start in.
