Day
Would we have started Russell yesterday risking injury if we was about to sell him 2 days later?

DcFc Dyycheee
Would we have started Russell yesterday risking injury if we was about to sell him 2 days later? things move quickly in football, could have offered a decent amount hours after the game. Leicester Ram
The amount of people on here talk about things they know nothing about with such conviction "Russell's leaving. Let's face it." "We'd never have 5 wingers, that's a fact" Is it really? Are you Steve McClaren or are you Sam Rush? Or are you some random bloke on a forum who thinks he knows best? eddie
Was it Arthur who said something about "The day I sign a player is the day I start looking for his replacement"? If true, then a swap deal - or one in, one out.
MACKWORTHRAM
Agreed. I like Russell. He works hard and clearly loves it here. But Ritchie is a better winger. Ill be sad to see him go. But if we are to replace him with a better winger then im all for it. Looking on the Bournemouth forum. They think he is worth
eddie
Johnny Russell is going. Let's face it. To be replaced by a German centre back?
Uptherams
Calero and Santos are for the U21 side. Bennett's out on-loan. Even then we have 4 for 2 positions. Ritchie coming in does suggest one of them must be going. For how long? Calero is banging on the match day squad's door already. Don't count any of those three come January. What I'm saying is, even if you took that pair out, and took Bennett out, then we'd still have 4 for 2 positions already. Although it's no guarantee that we wouldn't just bring in another winger, I can't see it without at least one going out at the same time.
-JW-
I'd put good money on Russell not leaving.
DcFc Dyycheee
Maybe it's even Ward leaving? Didn't Wigan want him at one point?
Leicester Ram
Maybe it's even Ward leaving? Didn't Wigan want him at one point? He has just signed a new contract, but he should really jump at an chance of the PL at his age (in his prime).
MACKWORTHRAM
We have obviously bid for Ritchie. Percy aint gonna make it up. If it was up to me id let Ward go. But as he has just signed a new deal it aint gonna be him. Bournemouth want Russell. So its obviously gonna be him if anyone.
AmericanRam
As others have said,it is pretty obvious this is a swap deal for Russell.Tbh I have never really paid much attention to Ritchie but I will go with everyone's opinions on him Someone has to go and Russell by far the obvious choice.Granted, its not guaranteed Bournemouth will even accept the bid.If Russell does go though good luck to him. Ramarena
IF it's a swap deal (and at the moment it's still a big if) then it will be interesting to see if Russell goes for it as he has said he's very happy here.
IlsonDerby
Why are people saying we don't need him? He's a very good player, in what world do we not need a very good player? Calero/ Santos or Ritchie... I know which one I'd want in our side.

YorkshireRam
Good player, highly rated. Hugely unnecessary. Russell must be going, no two ways about it. I'd prefer if Ward or Dawkins left rather than Russell. IMO our best winger atm.
