According to sources that Newcastle united have made strong enquiries for Thomas Ince and Will Hughes, early stage talks have taken place this week.

The scouting team believe these two players are the future of Newcastle. The Newcastle board believe 19m would be enough to land both players.

The board and recruitment are expected to meet on Tuesday afternoon to discuss more targets. Liverpool and Spurs also keeping a eye on these players but i believe Newcastle are ready to show they mean business and submit both bids next week.

Tom Ince is worth more than £3m.

Did you actually see newcastle play last season ? they'd both walk in ...

Really?

In central midfield you've got Yohan Cabaye and Moussa Sissoko both french internationals, Vurnon Anita a dutch international, not to mention the likes of Ben Arfa, Tiote and Dan Gosling who can all play there as well.

There record signing is certain Michael Owen for £16 million, you really think they'd be willing to spend £10 million on a kid from the championship? Newcastle aren't Man United, and £10 million to them could buy them another Demba Ba.

NEWCASTLE United are interested in Derby County midfielder Will Hughes, according to a report in the North East.

Hughes is said to be on Newcastle's list of summer targets but Derby fully expect the 18-year-old to start next season with them and say the player's situation has not changed.

No calls or bids for the England Under-21 international have been received.

Hughes recently signed a new long-term contract until the summer of 2016.

Reports in recent weeks have suggested Manchester City are "preparing a bid" and in the past year Hughes has been linked with Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool, Everton and even Barcelona.

Derby's aim is to keep hold of their best players although the club admits every player has a price, which is the case at any club.

"If somebody blows us out of the water with a massive offer, then he will go, but that is the same at any club," Derby manager Nigel Clough told the Telegraph recently.

Clough added: "Every player has his price, in any league, but we will always try to keep our best players."

If we got £10m I'd rip their arm off like a pitbull with a teddy bear, specially if we got a season on loan out of it.

Bringing players through the youth set up to flog them shouldn't be our long term ambition, but if doing it every now and then creates funds to build a team that the young players want to stay and be a part of long term, we should take the hit with Hughes.

£10m could build a team capable of promotion (even half that could). If we got promotion, our younger players wouldn't leave us unless it was for a top six club.
