Oh Lord - another non-scoring forward, this time with a chequered past.

We would kinda like Simeon Jackson who's a player who can't get into a first team and then we're offered the man whose place on the bench Jackson pinched!

Have we really stooped this low?

Says in the sunday people that we want Chris Martin on loan.

"Says in the Sunday People that we want...." is in fact an oxymoron (as in 'agree to disagree', 'airline food', 'speed walking', 'American history' and 'Nottingham Forest Football Club').

Nothing to see here.

We were linked with him around deadline day last season for the summer window. Not sure if there was anything in it though.

Might just be people going through old targets who might be loan options now that the club's basically said they want some loans in.

...according to you we already signed him and apparently he was no good?

Good signings by Nigel for players signing from within the British Isles (permanent signings only):

Jake Buxton

Shaun Barker

Dean Moxey

Russell Anderson

John Brayford

James Bailey

Gareth Roberts

Ben Davies

Frank Fielding

Jamie Ward

Craig Bryson

Jason Shackell

Theo Robinson

Adam Legzdins

Michael Jacobs

Paul Coutts

Richard Keogh

Conor Sammon

...and the bad:

Chris Porter

Lee Croft

Ben Pringle

Saul Deeney

Lee Hendrie

Dave Martin

Chris Martin

Nathan Tyson

Chris Riggott

Tom Naylor

James O'Connor

The total is 18 good to 11 bad or otherwise. That's pretty damn decent considering that players from the British Isles are going to make up most of the squad, whilst Foreign players generally make up the finishing touches, the polish on a squad if you will.

I'm leaving out players who have yet to have a chance at the first team (that is, the younger signings from this season). Overall, that's extremely harsh on a few (particularly Porter, Pringle and Riggott), but I'd rather count as many players as possible on both sides.
