To be fair i like him as a player.

He is pretty decent one at this level and i would prefer him to Sammon every day.

At least he can control a football, head it, and fine free-kick taker.

Martin is very good in link-up play and has goals in him. Not very fast though.

I can't see him starting games untill Ward and useless fish are fit anyway.

Theo off to a championship club this guy in in loan to replace him apparently

Edit -

Transfer activity at Derby County today will see a striker leave on loan and another arrive. Theo Robinson is set to join a Championship club until the end of the season and the Derby Telegraph understands the Rams have targeted Norwich City front man Chris Martin as a replacement.

Martin is expected to sign on an initial one-month loan deal. Derby say Robinson has asked to go out on loan in his search for regular first-team football.

The 24-year-old has not started a game since the draw away to Charlton Athletic on December 29. He has been on the bench in the last 10 matches and has come on as a substitute six times but the Jamaican international has been unable to break up the first-choice striker-force of Conor Sammon and Jamie Ward.

Robinson has scored nine goals in 29 appearances this season and his record for Derby is 23 goals in 83 games since he signed from Millwall, first on loan in February 2011 and then in a permanent move in the summer of that year.

He made his debut for Jamaica in a World Cup qualifer against Mexico this month and the Birmingham-born player might feel he needs to be starting at club level in order to keep his international ambitions alive. Martin, also 24, started as a trainee at Norwich and he has hit 34 goals in 117 games for the Canaries. He has also had loan spells at Luton Town, Crystal Palace and, most recently, Swindon Town. He scored 11 times in 40 league games at Luton and seven goals in 26 league appearances while at Palace.

His spell at Swindon, which ended this month, was less productive, with one goal, from the penalty spot, in a dozen league games. Martin helped Norwich to win promotion to the Premier League in 2010-11 and his last game for the club was in a Capital One Cup tie earlier this season.
