Stuff like this is why Forest sell their best youth prospects for millions, and we get sod all for ours.  We stick Cashin in a position he clearly can't play, in a system that doesn't suit him, make him look as bad as possible, and then openly talk about flogging him for £500k.  Forest would have him play 2 seasons in a solid back 4, and sell him for £5m+ to Burnley or something.

    £500k 😱

I’d snap their hand off for that and drive him there myself - wherever it was.

Massively overrated and now being regularly exposed.

    Quite enjoyed Tuesday’s A38 Derby

The A38 is about 300 miles long. Mansfield to Cornwall -  I think. Via Birmingham and Bristol and a few others.
Would be interesting to know how many grounds are within, say, 2 miles of the A38 along its whole length.

If he likes a stroll along the river, the GrandRiver Suite on Meadow Road is perfect for a fiver. Loads of space and you sometimes get the colourful spectacle of an Asian wedding thrown in for free.

Or Darwin Place a bit further along. £3-£4 for the duration and good access back onto A52/M1/A38

Plenty of car parks closer to the ground on the industrial estates but you really need to leave 5-10 mins before the end of the match or wait half hour afterwards as the roads are chocker with fans and cars.

Knight is wasted in forward positions, he's a high energy box to box midfielder, that's where he will shine when given the time to establish himself.

I'm confident his confidence would grow and the goals would also come.

He's been thrown into positions all over because he can and willing to put a shift in, I'm not surprised the goals haven't been there.

The problem is though, we don't play a system that fits a traditional box to box midfielder as a result he will be that square peg in a round hole.

    100% agree, he’s not a forward

And he will leave with my thanks and appreciation and would be applauded if we came up against him in the future.

(however with the short memories that some Derby fans have he would mostly likely still be booed 🤷‍♂️

  5. Even in the Premier League with the (allegedly) best officials and with the help, or hindrance, of VAR there are still some right dodgy decisions.
The Championship, as we well know, then has the next tier down of poor refs and League 1 then has what’s left and so on and so on…..

Their decisions can indeed affect games but we have to live with that unfortunately.
The best answer is either don’t give them decisions to make or just score more goals than the opposition anyway. Easy…

Bleating after every loss about the ref and spouting about EFL conspiracies etc is frankly embarrassing and makes us look pathetic.

    We lost - move on.

Derby have disabled/carer ticket rates. Have you investigated that option, assuming you haven’t already?

    June 16th 1978.

The queue went from Albion Street, in Derby City centre, to just past where Burton Albion play now... then looped back Willington, across the flooded fields.  (It had just rained for 23 consecutive day.  The first rains since February 1976... drought year!)
They had to close the whole of the A38.  Made our march over the flyover look like a 3 year old's tea party... with no invited guests!

43 hours I was stood in that queue... and it was worth every minute, just to get a big screen view of Oh Sandy, in those spray on pvc slacks!

9 showings per day, for a full 14 months.  7 days per week, including Christmas, Lent, and summer solstice.  The cinema staff were dropping like flies, due to 27 hour shifts... and they ran out of batteries for their torches, as this mayhem soon caused a nationwide battery shortage.  (?)
We weren't just stood in the aisles.  We were dancing.  7 abreast!
Which reminds me... I even witnessed some heavy petting on the back rows, and as we all know, that wasn't even allowed at Queen St Baths!  (Everything else was, just not heavy petting!)

... But try telling that to the kids of today.  Yer just can't learn 'em!

Oh yeah... Thanks for asking.  ?

Tell me more, tell me more….

  8. Let’s not forget there are very good reasons (at least 97 ?) where top flight stadiums were made ‘all seater’ and until official safe standing areas are created the regulations should be obeyed.

Unfortunately we have too many selfish people in society in general, not just in our fan base, who think the world revolves around them and will do what they want.

Thats an awful thing to hear, and really this needs to be taken up by the club urgently. Angie as you are involved with ramstrust, why not get it raised with the club that way? To me all it needs is for Derby stewards and police to be present at the away games and lead away those who are causing the trouble, search and sniffer dog them, and then the club remove their away membership and ban them from attending away games. Do this at a couple of away games and I'm sure the issure will go away.

Agree, it’s awful that anyone should be made to feel that way.

Did I read somewhere that stewards and/or Derby police do sometimes already attend away games ?

(Or did I make that up?)

Anyone who goes in the south stand should be told no sitting down in that stand but is totaya stand were you can sit in there.

But what if after, say, 30 minutes in the south stand you started to get tired and needed to sit down? Would you get evicted from the ground or just relocated to the totaya stand?

They're not decent they use certain tactics which is very different

Yep. They came with a game plan (as awful as it was) and they stuck to it and they were delighted to come away with the draw.
Even when down to 10 men and defending for their lives (aka parking the bus) they still broke away a couple of times and could have snatched a win.

To be fair to the officials although i thought they were poor again last night they did come up with 9 minutes injury time

    That’s true.
I said at the time that there should be 6-7 minutes added on but wouldn’t be surprised if they only said 4.
So to see 9 minutes go up did at least confirm that they had recognised the amount of time wasting going on. Although a couple more yellow cards (certainly one for the keeper) should have been shown.

    we move on….

Maybe we should advocate a snorting section ?

    ?

so a section for snorting, a section for singing and a section for standing up. With overlap areas for those that want a combination of each?
The away ticket allocation has suddenly got even more difficult with the inclusion of a Venn diagram on the website ??

and maybe even a tiny area for those that just want to sit, watch and enjoy the game perhaps?
    A bit radical I know ….

There are certain aspects of away games I don’t enjoy (the behaviour of an isolated number of fans at Coventry last season and Cheltenham this season spring to mind) but, I can just about tolerate (only just mind you and I may well hesitate if I was thinking of attending with a young child) what I’ve experienced and I won’t let a few mindless morons stop me going to the away games I chose (and manage to get a ticket for).

That’s interesting - and thank you for responding.
That is a huge shame that you (and I presume many others) would think twice about attending with young uns due to the behaviour of some of our own.

  15. When you read through this topic it really doesn’t make the Away Day experience sound that appealing - sometimes.
From the struggle to actually obtain tickets (and the arguments about the allocation metrics), through to the standing up/sitting down conflicts and then the behaviour of our own so called supporters.

    is it really that bad?

We seem to constantly sell out so the issues must be deemed acceptable?

  16. I wish him well.
He appeared to enjoy his time at Derby and still comments favourably about us.

To me, it always seemed like he was the one with the tactical nous and Lampard was the ‘name’ that did the TV and media stuff.
He had great success with the Chelsea young uns and Frank appears to have struggled since, without Jody by his side.

I will be genuinely keen to see how he gets on as Manager and hope he brings them success.
