Would be an ideal signing for us, I hope we can get a deal sorted out.

I notice Britt Assombalonga has just been released by Watford. Could still do a job at this level IMO.
Versatile forward too which will be important having a small squad (or so I presume we will have).

13…..with the Dobster 😉
I'd take Dobbin back too. Versatile player who can play across the front line who adds a much needed injection of pace.

Interesting one that, he’s removed all his posts and just has that on his story and as his profile picture. The song choice is “stick to the models” by future….perhaps he’s about to sign with Derby permanently, announcement today? 🤔 🤞
I can't work it out. Deleting all his Instagram posts. I am hoping his post from yesterday was a spoiler that he wil be signing a contract with us.

Before I tell you my snippet of info, I have no idea if he’ll re-sign or not, no idea if he’s literally just moving house etc. but my friend works for a removals company and has this week moved Didzys furniture “up north”
Most likely means absolutely nothing, but he’s moving out of the Derby /Notts area non the less
Is true or are you having us all on?

I think we need players who are good in the air to take advantage of Hourihane balls in from set peices.

I've just watched his goals from last season, are people really saying we shouldn't be signing a player like this?
Decent pace, playing off the shoulder, different to what we have already, genuinely two footed so a threat inside and out....
Ffs he's only 29, and has clearly improved as he's got his prime years the last couple of seasons...
Jesus, we're a league one side, who are you expecting us to sign that's going to be better than a 20 goal, in the same league, striker?
Exactly we need to be realistic. If he had his goal scoring record last season but was only 20 we wouldn't have a chance of securing his signature.

He is 29 turning 30 so hardly past it. If anything he will be in his prime now and up for a big season with us hopefully.

This is the lad Eric Steele has been banging on about saying we should sign. Looks a real player and someone who deserves his shot at a big club. Could be a great move. Doesn’t matter that he’s 29, he could be a late developer and make an impact at a high level later in his career, with the right attitude and hunger to do well he’s probably got 3 good seasons left in him. We will be signing players 29-30 and 30+ this window, the majority need to be 22-28 but doesn’t mean they all need to be. Hope we get him
Me too. I think he would be an ideal signing. Someone who is proven in league one, hungry and wanting to make a step up in his career.

Kylian Mbappé may do a do a decent job in League One.

It's impossible to say until we've signed some players. We could have a really good window, or a terrible one. Either way it guarantees nothing come the first day of the season.
But with the potential for us to recruit, and almost everything we can offer as a club being better than our League One competition, this really is a big chance for us. Bookies have us at 5/1 to win the league, it was 6/1 before the final so it shows that they think our biggest competition is now gone. I'm surprised the odds are so short given the squad we currently have. Maybe in a couple months, but that isn't a great bet right now.
I agree. Until we have started to sign some players how can compare our squad to others? And if we feel the team has improved or not. Right now we have surley the smallest squad in the league.

I know his name has been mentioned before but Lucas Joao on a free?

I saw on the thread it says signed and got excited until I read as far as "on a season long loan".

I’d be amazed if he isn’t announced soon. Sure there will be other clubs that fancy him but unless it’s one of the big clubs in the championship chasing promotion I think he will come here. I’m not sure why one of those would think he would improve them. I would think there is already an agreement in place
Fingers crossed 🤞

He would be a fantastic signing if we could sign him. He is versatile, knows hoe Paul Warne likes to play and will only get better.

We could, but my guess woulld be we would need to spend everything we have for him and it still probably will not be enough to meet the over inflated prices from Posh. We could buy a number of good signings with the money we would spend on him.
I suppose it all depends on what the Posh would demand for him. I agree we need multiple signings though and we can't blow the budget on one man.
"Must Keep" Players

Considering our squad size I would consider all the first team players under contract being a "must keep" until we have reinforcements.
