The whole problem with this statement is simply this.... WHAT ARE WE BEING PUNISHED FOR? What are 9 points plus 3 suspended points based on?

If an individual is charged with a criminal offence then time spent in prison awaiting trial is deducted from any sentence when found guilty.

Surely the inability to sign players and play talented U23 players should be taken into consideration when assessing points deduction and other sanctions?

Sorry to hear that the pandemic has caused extra financial difficulties for your household and for @G-Ram as well and any other fellow posters out there. The country was very much split, wasn't it, by those who had to go to work in essential services, those who couldn't work but were helped out somewhat by furlough money and finally those who were left up poo creek. I really hope that things are improving for all of us.

I don’t think I have. As a regular spin biker and treadmill runner, its been a year and i still can’t reach my stamina levels and breathing still a problem. Spend a lot of running time coughing and spluttering.

You know that and I know that, so does the rest of this forum but it bugs me that halfwit from OTIB for one is making a life’s work out of making us out to be the bad guys in all this. And he will not be the only one.
I can’t believe a decent journalist from a national newspaper has not tried to get to the bottom of this and put their findings out for fans of other clubs to understand the EFL are on nothing more than the face saving exercise you mention. Their incompetence really should be laid bare for all to see.

Exactly this. There's a lot on here saying, 'I'd take 6 points' or 'I'd take 3 points' etc. Tragic that a large percentage of the fanbase would simply allow this to happen without knowing the facts of the case because they don't want to think about it anymore. Boo Hoo. This is and should be a non negotiable punishment based on facts and not something open to subjective negotiation on any part. Until we know exactly what has been breached (if anything) we shouldn't accept any 'punishment' from this shitshower of an organisation and fight on/back relentlessly.

People who leave the bathroom light on and the door closed when they're done, creating uncertainty when it comes to you needing to enter the bathroom yourself as to whether there's someone in there or not. Also people who forget to lock the door when they're in the bathroom.
    Leading to....
    - Calling out, knocking on the door to check the occupancy status - waste of breath, shouldn't be necessary
    - Trying the handle, finding it locked and having to apologise to the occupant for attempting to barge in on them taking a dump. Embarrassing
    - Trying the handle and opening the door to the sight of someone sat on the pooper. Mortifying.

So sorry, @G STAR RAM! I understand your post. I missed my colleagues of 10 years when our garden centre closed down during the pandemic and then didn't open again. I felt lost and the lack of routine threatened my mental stability. I have never not worked in 41 years and to be laid off seemed very wrong.
I lived alone, like you, for about 10 years, and if I hadn't had a full time job as a teacher and had the delightfully funny company of the children and my colleagues I don't know where I would be now. Hope that you are in a good place now as well!?

No you’ve got me wrong , ive been very lucky and been ok financially unlike many many people I really feel for ,,, my point is / was that not everyone had the choice to stay home stay safe and have been very much forced to live with the virus around us whilst out and about needing to earn a living and as such over this long 18 months do not fear living a normal life ,
I could have chosen to stay home / stay safe but as construction was not ever actually closed down I would have had to go without a proper living and found when it was over that my jobs and contacts had been given to someone prepared to risk the virus??‍♂️,
that said I genuinely appreciate your concern for myself if I was financially in trouble as your concern for other who really are in trouble?

Luckily my employer had enough work to see me through the pandemic and to be honest I'm glad I worked throughout rather than being furloughed.
Living alone I can't say that I would have looked forward to spending even more time at home alone!

Perhaps you'd like to consider also that it's not necessarily 'over' when you've survived it. Some people suffer from Long Covid, some from continuing symptoms - I'll take it that you didn't read the article about potential neurological symptoms. You go on and on about how things were made up as we went along, well that's hardly surprising with such an unknown virus. You laughed at the article talking about the 1918 flu pandemic but it showed how 'difficulties', or peoples understanding of them, don't change even when technology does.

I’m self employed and I think it was around 3 months before I actually got any money from the government. Luckily I was in a position where I had very little overheads and savings. Not everybody would have been as fortunate.

Why are you always talking about "those cocooned on good money" in such a derogatory way? It's like you are continually trying to divide people.
The cocooned people I know were hugely appreciative of those essential workers who couldn't stay at home, such as nurses, bus drivers etc. And also think that people who needed to work to make ends meet should have been better supported by furlough.

I don't see you as crass or uncaring about those who have lost loved ones but you are obviously bitter about this & have been consistently bringing it up throughout. It's just divisive and ignorant to assume that the last 18 months haven't been shitty for the vast majority, whether they've been able to work from home or not.
I know plenty of people who have been struggling to work from home, many with laptops on bedroom dressing tables or on their knees on the sofa & working longer hours and under more pressure - and many of whom are not on "good money". And that's the ones who weren't attempting to home-school at the same time. Yeah, dead cushy.

Without knowing specifics, the demographic of your friendship group etc but I'm not surprised at that stat as since people have been double jabbed there's been the Delta variant and virtually no restrictions on socialising and mixing with family members. I believe there's noticeably less concern about personal space when out and about, cinema, sporting events open etc.
Hopefully, those that have had it after being vaccinated have had milder symptoms in line with the claims.
But as you say in your last comment, it is difficult to know what to believe and what to take with a pinch of salt, it is a novel situation for any government to deal with on this scale and having to adapt and learn as they go trying to balance health and well being with the economic issues has no doubt caused policy changes and conflicting approaches at differing times over the last 18 months.

Ha. I'd suggest you read up on your history.
As the 1918 Flu Emerged, Cover-Up and Denial Helped It Spread - HISTORY
"Both newspapers and public officials claimed during the flu’s first wave in the spring and early summer of 1918 that it wasn’t a serious threat. The Illustrated London News wrote that the 1918 flu was “so mild as to show that the original virus is becoming attenuated by frequent transmission.” Sir Arthur Newsholme, chief medical officer of the British Local Government Board, suggested it was unpatriotic to be concerned with the flu rather than the war, Arnold says."

People who complain on trip advisor etc even when they have been given everything possible to resolve their issues at the point of the problem. Why do that?  Mistakes happen, if every effort has been made to compensate and apologise why isn’t that enough? They still have to have that last underhand spiteful dig.

He was so mild-mannered compared to his flamboyant band mates and very dapper when he chose to be and for me this made this slightly enigmatic man much more interesting than the others. Charlie and the band have made a huge contribution to the music industry over an incredible number of years. I was always a Beatles fan but I thankfully came to appreciate the Stones in later years. I  loved that the family referred to him publicly as their beloved. No greater tribute could be paid. RIP Charlie.
