Not long ago I wouldn't have been so concerned, as non relegated teams did feature regularly in the promotion picture, but the advantage is now getting so big that something has got to change.

I'm happy with Chris Kirchners bid, it saves the club.
I would ask the question, what better bids are on the table.

Everything the EFL wants is being leaked to the gutter press, the same gutter press who asked no questions about Ridsdale fit for purpose for a role on the EFL board, all in it together it stinks.
Share issue by Bristol City,  7/11/2019 £71 million Landsdown transferred them to himself to write off club debt, 2/6/2021 another share issue to himself £14 million to write off club debt, is this not a form of cheating to beat ffs.
Gibson transfering money from his haulage company to the football club for which the EFL have done nothing yet surely this is another form of cheating, no excuses from the EFL for they can go way back with Derby

Exactly. Also why should promotion to the Premier league allow a club to avoid points deductions for FFP breaches in the Championship ?
It is analogous to an individual committing fraud on a massive scale and then fleeing to the Costa Del Sol to escape punishment.

Well ran? Leicester have lost £90m in the last two years. How can they be well ran?
When the owner decides he no longer wants to keep paying that to keep the club running (because it will happen at some point), as ours now has, are they still well ran?

Leicester of course just continued to cheat and did very well out of it. Avoiding any points deductions.
A club now lorded as the plucky little underdog who made it big.
A truly detestable club. Their bin robbing fans refuse to acknowledge the complete cheating bastary employed in their rise from div 3.

I'd struggle to think of any Derby fan who would want to do this as death by a thousand points deductions. There is no logical reason, only solution is to take it all, get the slate cleared and move on. Yes, we will have to drop down to League One, yes it is not guaranteed we will bounce back immediately but Wolves, Leeds, Coventry, Southampton and others have shown you can rebuild from that position. Many will quote Sunderland, Portsmouth, Bolton and Sheff Wed but they will all come back in time - as will we.

Far more likely that the EFL are threatening to contnue to punish us in future seasons if we don't accept the admin charge and a disproportionate points penalty for FFP.
Any new owner would want a fresh start and be able to manage without one hand (or more likely both hands) tied behind their back by an EFL 'business plan'. Suspect 21 points (if true aand I wouldn't trust a jouno to know the facts - or tell the truth if they did) is the least the EFL will accept to leave a new owner in peace and wipe the slate clean for future years....

I think the administrators were using the appeal as a bargaining chip. I did expect the bargaining chip to result in less points, but clearly the EFL are playing hard ball.
So, maybe the deal on the table from us is, let the new buyer spend in January and we drop the appeal and accept the penalty.
If its true Kirchner is the only bidder and is willing to buy us regardless then may as well take the hit and start a fresh.

No. But a lifelong fan who has been taken aback by the far ranging hatred towards someone who has invested significantly with the hope of achieving the premier goal we all desire. If I were a billionaire I wouldn't want to invest. Whatever the next person does is likely to be hated. Invest and they shouldn't have done. Don't invest, then the moaning about lack of investment will inevitabley follow.

Quite correct. If you had been given £200 and has to put a bet on us going into administration 10 minutes before it was announced how many honestly would have put the money on us going into administration. Not many I would guess. Did the average fan question the spending, again no because we had an owner worth at one time a reported 650 million who had invested 200 million into the club and could afford what he was putting in or so we thought. Personally I thought he was spending the return he was getting on his investments in some kind of tax efficient way. Obviously something changed and the only thing I heard about was Mel's health. In some interview I heard he said he had had covid and also mentioned having an operation where some bits cut off as he put it. Internet searches give an indication what but in this forum I am not going to say. When we walked down Wembley way we didn't even dream that we would be in the position we are any time never mind now. Perhaps most of us were taken in some were but arguing between each other will get us nowhere.  Sooner or later the facts will come out and the whys and how's might become clearer although I doubt we will never know the full story. We need to unite together behind the team this season and into the future no matter what league we are in (assuming we still have a buyer) perhaps remembering the poem that is now read out before each match, WE ARE Derby, and that matters to all of us and hopefully the new owner and help the team to get us back to where we believe we should be. Rant over

I remember someone talking about tasteless jokes V political correctness way back. It was sort of said that there’s no such thing as a bad joke but some jokes, to some people just aren’t funny. It’s just life.
