Shrews part 2. Knight needs to sit deep and stay there   And or Curtis should make an appearance

Nowhere near as strong as our first half against the Shrews. Best chance of winning is 1-0. Plymouth have been rubbish up front but our defence has not looked strong, Smith and Roberts in defence looking off the pace. Will Warne lose the halftime battle for a second time?  Bring on Dobbin to trouble them on the break and we should   then sit deeper. 3 at the back would not go amiss and make changes to give us more legs in midfield

3 points vs Wendies = 6 (for us, 2 for Plymouth and Ipswich)
    1 point vs Shrewsbury (H) = -2
    3 points vs Wycombe = 600

Yesterday must have been a real bummer for Rams fans.   OK it favors us and say Bolton also but they'll be no gloating from this end.  This league is tough - for want of better words - it's a real nasty division to get out of, maybe like ourselves you thought it'd be easy and we'd make it back at a first attempt.   You know, big club names that were successful in the 1970s and got League Championships to their name.    Unfortunately It doesn't quite work like that.
I understand the hurt of scores like yesterday, nothing disingenuous, teams like Derby County or indeed Bolton / ITFC don't really deserve or seem out of place to be in this s*** league but it's been a mess of our own making.      Make no mistake it's tough to make it back, don't take it the wrong way or anything but suppose Derby don't get a promotion this year, it could take maybe another 2 or 3 seasons - maybe more - to achieve it. That's the reality.
That's not a criticism, just from someone who knows what a task it can be - or is - to escape League One status and make it back to Championship level.      You got Plymouth Argyles in your next game if correct, guess a number of our own fans shall be rooting for you as we got to take any and all points Plymouth may drop in the final weeks run-in.     It's the only way other club names will get an opportunity.
In all probability Town and Rams won't get an automatic promotion, I'd like to avoid you in a play-off situation, our record is beyond lousy and I think a two-game event would favor yourselves as past experience dictates we just won't make it.
I see Davey McGoldrick is scoring plenty for you.    He didn't do much for us in that capacity although spent a lot of time on the injury roster.    He's become almost a new player of what some can remember.     I wish you well in team endeavors for the Plymouth game.

Yeah the idea that refs and the efl have an active conspiracy against us game by game is getting a bit silly. Refs are just poor, sometimes for us and sometimes against.
bottom line is standards have dropped a bit over the last month, that’s why have fallen off slightly. Whether that’s tiredness or a quality issue the main debate.
don’t think we’re one of the best two sides in the division so is hard to think we should be getting automatic. Let’s finish strong and have a go at the play offs. Next season needs to be all out push for top two though.

It was a penalty. Soft because there was no need for it, but a 2 handed push in the back is a foul..

OK> So when Rooney just about gets two hands on the back of the Shrewsbury player, its a peno. Probably quite rightly. But when Dobbin was pushed two-handed at the other end of the pitch, it isn't a peno. And when a Shrewsbury handles the ball in the area with both hands, it isn't a peno. Or Didzy commits a "professional" foul, the ref plays advantage, and when the ball next goes out of play, he shows a card to Didzy. Quite correctly. Then later in the match, Smith is bringing the ball out of defence and is completely wiped out by a Shrewsbury player. The ref plays advantage, but then does absolutely nothing about the foul. Are you beginning to see a pattern? And this goes on match after match after match. As I have already said, if this happened on the odd occasion, and affected both teams equally, there would not be a problem. But it doesn't. How many matches can you honestly say the we got the majority of the refereeing decisions in our favour?
And never mind getting a peno against us for light hand contact, how many absolute stonewall penalties have been seen turned down for Derby? (You will need a lot of fingers for that one).

I know what you mean, but I saw the ref give them free kicks on two occasions outside the penalty area yesterday, rare or not.
It's very unusual for refs to award penalties for perceived pushes or trips when the attacking player isn't in possession and isn't likely to get to a pass or cross. The striker looking up to see if the ref had noticed after writhing on the ground, to me at any rate, told its own story.

Not what I said but I didn’t say what I mean. Technically the push on Dobbin was a foul. It was a foul that would very rarely be given outside the box and, rightly, would almost never be given in the box, because it’d be too soft a penalty. If rough and tumble like that in the box was penalised there would be four penalty offences  each time there is a corner. So on average 15 penalties per game

The ref was actually correct (for once) with McGoldrick's booking, following the foul, he played advantage for Shrewsbury and he could only book him once the ball went out of play which did not happen for several minutes.

You're free to do what you want. If others want to point out how soft that penalty was compared to some of the many we haven't received this season from similar incidents, or how the referee seemed to apply a different approach to penalising each side after half-time, it's as valid as any other aspect of the post-match discussion.
It's ironic though that you say Rooney's push was a "clear foul" but the one on Dobbin wasn't : Dobbin was at least in possession of the ball - the Shrews player was 15 ft under it with no chance of playing it - exaggerating the push was his only option.

Think the ref may have forgotten about Didzie’s yellow and needed to be reminded.

No complaints about the ‘penalty incidents’. Not enough in the push against Dobbin. And his touch was heavy, his run predictable. Don’t think even he complained. Rooney’s was a clear foul. We should stop whingeing about this stuff

It’s not an EFL conspiracy. It’s not. It’s not. Grow up. It’s the midfield. When we lose the midfield, we’re on the back foot. They packed the midfield and we didn’t respond.  Lose a winger and gain control of the middle ffs.

Technically, you were correct... but if that wasn't a "world class save" (Whatever one of those are!) then I'll be... erm... well... flabbergasted, I guess!
Dobbin did absolutely nothing wrong there, and that would go in nine times out of ten.

Cant blame those on the ref, what was Rooney thinking with that push?
If it was on a Derby player I'd also be annoyed if we didnt get a clear penalty. Quite simply you can't do that in the penalty area
