Not played many competitive minutes since he joined so was probably gassed, regardless of being young etc

If Bird is fit I’d bring him on for Hourihane who’s struggling

We’re being overrun. Warne needs to change something

Play Forsyth at centre back like he has been doing most of the season

Ok, I haven’t seen those defence splitting balls yet. Tompson has been very unlucky to not have played more whilst Hourihane can score goals and assist with them there are obviously other areas where he disappoints but we can’t get a great deal when we are so restricted in how we can sign players.

Finding defence-splitting forward balls. He covers a lot of ground and in the main his touch and balance exude quality. And I’d guess he will get much better quickly. But he needs to play alongside complementary players. Would love to see him, Bird, Smith, Knight and Tommo all more or less in midfield with each having an understanding of what role they play in what situation. We don’t see this level of organisation anywhere on the pitch - we’re looking like headless chickens without enough legs - and we really need more organisation in midfield. As you might infer I think Hourihane needs to start on the bench if not on his sofa. I don’t think Jason Knight is enjoying running his socks off only to be told where he needs to run next and Didzie’s reaction to his evasive action in the wall against The Shrews says it all

Strongly agree about Smith. But whilst he looks very good in possession I’m not sure Rooney yet has the defensive skills to face up to a top team. Against the Shrews there were occasions where his positional radar was naively faulty and surprisingly Fozzie is faster than he is in a straight line. I think the best for this squad is to add Davies or Chester at the back, play Knight and Smith as defensive midfielders, sit deeper, try to win more games 1-0 and accept we’ll win fewer 4-0. Against the top teams at least. We break well with NML, Barks and Dobbin and as we saw yesterday Didzie for one will find the magic ball that slices a defence apart.

It is definitely serious stuff. Go get yourself checked!!!!
At my last prostate examination I asked where I should put my trousers and pants. "Next to mine" was not the answer I had been expecting.

I went to the quacks seven years ago for my regular BP check and it was unusually high (I have been on meds for 30 years for high BP), he sent me for blood tests which revealed that I had problems with my kidneys which was the source of the problem. Suspicious, he gave me a PSA test which was 153, yes one hundred and fifty three!! On receipt of the test result he rang me at 8am in the morning and told me to go straight to the Royal Derby. I asked him why and he said its a matter of life and death! They were already waiting for me on urology and immediately catheterised me to drain off excess urine I was retaining. I was admitted and had all the tests, biopsies etc mentioned by others.
To cut along story short I had high grade cancer which had spread to the lymph nodes, seminal vessels and elsewhere locally, I was given two to Six years if subsequent treatment worked. I had surgery, 38 sessions of RT and hormone treatment. Fortunately, it worked and I am still here some seven years later! I have regular check ups and am now 76.
I had no symptoms, so get checked!

Last time I went I wouldn't say the doctor was enthusiastic but when the report came back it said I needed two fillings and a crown.

No I didn’t miss out on your joke, I’m ashamed of my poor response!
I did however make sure the doctors hands weren’t on my shoulders during the examination.

I think you only missed out on my joke about rear entrance arrangements.
I have had a few prostate examinations myself. I was once called back by the Uroligist which was a concern, but he quickly put me at ease as he as he only wanted to get his wristwatch back.

Last September I was playing football with my grandson, and hurt my knee. I didn’t bother the doctors because the knee gradually returned to near normal, but still quite painful at times. It was such a time I winced, and my wife “advised “ me to see the doctor, which I duly attended, knee examination, all OK, I asked for a PSA (having seen the information at Pride Park) check which he duly gave me the paperwork. The test came back 7.1, I’m over 70 so 6.5 is regarded as normal. I was dispatched to the Derby Royal, had the anal examination, ( for the first time) small lump found. In five weeks I’ve had a MRI scan,my prostrate biopsy done, and a QT scan, and I’m now on a hormone treatment plan. It appears they’ve caught the tumour early, and the prognosis is good, they say it will be eliminated. You do lose your dignity at times, but not going through that door and having the exam you could lose a lot more.
A shout out to the doctors and nurses at the Derby Royal, they have been absolutely terrific, informative, and very understanding, and caring.

Agree and we’re seeing more and more of it. Grealish is one scallywag who’s mastered the dark art. This is much harder for referees
And a slightly different one - some players deliberately trip themselves up - I’ll swear I saw one of the Newcastle players do it last week. If it becomes habitual maybe we’ll get lucky and one of them’ll do it coming down the stairs
It all means more goals we should be delighted

He didn’t. He wanted to get Smith out of his face, write his report and get in his car for the long, cold ride home. So he said (allegedly) “IF I got it wrong I’m sorry... “

Or we could adapt the team according to circumstances. It’s what other managers do but Warne seems incapable of.

Think the ref did get it wrong. But don’t think Warne should be deflecting attention from his inability to work out how to find the right balance between experience and youth. Part of his problem is he’s too close to some of the senior players
Would like to have seen him make changes at half time so as to sit on the 1-0 lead, whilst threatening a goal on the break. We’re good enough to control possession against that lot if he puts the right bodies in the right places.
First half against Shrews is the only time in the last ?6 games where we have seen the potential of this squad. That’s down to the manager
