Good to see Nigel Clough letting his views be known about a few Mansfield “supporters” who were moaning during yesterday’s draw against Doncaster. He wondered what more they wanted, having gone from second from the bottom to second from the top in 2 years. He wondered why they weren’t supporting the players when they needed it most.
I suppose all Clubs have followers like this. They love to criticise but seldom put forward alternative constructive ideas for fear of being found to be wrong at a later stage. We’ve a few like that. Happily keeping a low profile at present but probably waiting for a chance - a few polls on the same subject again perhaps😀😀

I think that he wanted a megabucks contract as well.

I thought Alfie May was only interested in a move further south. At the time, he said he was delighted to be at Charlton. “I’m a local lad so to come back home with my family means a lot”.
I was hoping he’d come here too but I suppose it’s not just about money all of the time. I guess we’ll never know for sure.

What utter tosh. Lets just keep the anti Warne thing going, and throw in a bit of anti Owen Bradley too eh?

I'm not in the slightest bit interested in how the management are training the squad - leave that to those who know more about the players strengths and weaknesses.

    Not really.
They repeatedly ranted om and on about how ridiculous it was he was being given another chance, that he had no clue, wouldn't win games, shouted down anyone who suggested patience.
They were wrong. Fortunately we got to see how wrong.
Doesn't mean we will walk the league or that he won't be at risk at some point. But some of the vitriol and impatience was embarrassing especially given some of our recent history.

Depends what you mean...there were a lot of people who 'appeared' quite gleeful to jump on any defeat and massively exaggerate the issues. My particular gripe was that the matchday threads were not representative of the game I was watching such was the desire to hammer him.
I'd guess from recall there were a only a couple who eg explicitly said they wouldn't mind losing the next game if it meant he'd leave. How many more got some 'pleasure' from being proved right about their negative pre-match assessment is quite hard to count but the amount of times and hyperbole they used to do so was tiring and unnecessary.

My very own mild mannered brother calls him a rude name. But then my brother is not known for his love of touchy feely management styles.
personally, I love it when I have a manager who portrays that they like me, they are genuinely interested in me and my life outside work. Managers who don’t acknowledge you have a life outside the day job are never going to get the best out of me.
I like Paul Warne, as a person, I think he’s a decent guy.

I hope (and am sure he will) stay true to himself. I personally love to hear his views on the team, his honesty and his sense of humour (mainly). He has had all sought of abuse on here, most of it fictitious baloney from so-called fans. People who either want instant success or armchair critics who voice their opinions without any evidence what so ever. People saying he can’t manage in the Championship, should we get there. Not surprised he is wary of some fans, if he is.

People forget he is still a relatively young and inexperienced manager, despite already having had 3 promotions (and I know 2 relegations). He is entitled to grow and learn as a manager as most of us do throughout life. He is an intelligent man and I believe he can adapt his management style to whatever circumstances he will find himself in. I could be wrong but sincerely hope not.
More than anything else he is a caring, man manager, despite allegations not long ago, that he had “lost” the dressing room (more made up rubbish!). He wants these same qualities from his players - they showed their togetherness in abundance after our last two wins. He deserves for all these made up views to stop and to have support.

This is potentially going to be an extremely difficult transfer window. He will know what he wants to achieve - who he wishes to retain, who he wants to join. Unfortunately, much of it is out of his hands but I hope he has a successful window.
I have little doubt that if we have a little downturn, that some fickle fans will turn against him again, but hope they will keep quiet for the remainder of the season, so that the majority of the club and supporters can get fully behind the team. Everyone need to pull together. If you don’t like listening to him - don’t - just watch and support the team.

I won’t lie I hated the way some on here reacted to our slow start. The moaning criticism of our manager from everything to his ability to manage our “bigger club” to the way he talks his interviews his hats his sense of humour was appalling. It became clear and still s from tne underlying resentment about the recent upturn in form that some ( so called ) supporters became so invested in Warne failing that they started to relish a bad result.

My advice to any fan who feels this way is, unfortunately, rather old-school : grow a thicker skin, it's not like he's calling you out personally infront of the whole fanbase. Brian Clough was forever calling out Derby sections of the fanbase for not loving his team enough. Different times but, honestly, it's not about YOU - unless you want it to be.

It’s football and that could happen. We’d know better if there wasn’t a transfer window to negotiate…
Either way, I’m just enjoying both the good times and the absence of the armchair experts who were spoiling the Forum for me a few months ago. It would be wonderful to have a successful season for all kinds of reasons😄

Well it’s the morning after and just sitting with a coffee and a fag ,,,, still buzzing , said it earlier somewhere on here , warne is still a young inexperienced manager despite his 3 promotions, he really has got something about him and if we go up this season he gets a fair crack at the championship for me , I really hope the small no matter what anti warne mob drop this warneball is not good enough to compete in the championship, he’s not good enough ect stuff and we all get behind him , he has fostered a real togetherness at the club and in the squad apart from a few noisy determined to be right fans though respect to those who are comming round and big enough to say so on here👍,
as for league 1 downer ,, well I’m really invested and enjoying this season , football is football no matter what level , it’s the competition and the emotion that takes you on the roller coaster

Didn't someone who knows quite a bit about football once say that the sign of a good team is one which manages to eke out a result even when not playing at their best?
What Derby seem to have the makings of, certainly at the moment, is a 'good team' - with the emphasis on 'team'. They are a unit - not necessarily the most gifted players individually (you wouldn't expect that - they are a side thrown together in a short period of time, playing in the third tier of English football, assembled on a shoestring budget under all sorts of restrictions - but they are fighting for each other, and the results themselves have been remarkable over the last couple of months.
