If we need a budget version, I’d really like a Dobbin or similar with electrifying pace who can stretch and distract defenders. Even if that player isn’t prolific he will help those around him.
Rhodes sounds poor VFM and it’s dangerous to buy a player based on success in the distant past, especially if that player is earning more than those around him.

Perhaps some success balast should be used. Each time he wins a race he eat his own body weight in the delicacy of the country the grand prix is in.

I don’t really want reverse grids - just for Max to start from the back 🤪

Yup, I'm afraid that I switched off and walked away after maybe 20 laps. It's a shame as there are occasionally some fairly interesting battles behind Verstappen but yet again it was just a procession from the front and tight battles for 10th place are just not holding my attention. Other than mechanical failure which seems unlikely, or someone taking him out then I just can't see anything other than Verstappen winning every race that's left by a country mile. Even him being taken out seems unlikely because he's usually at the front and pulling away by the first corner. At least we had a first corner challenge this time but then Max hits the front and that's game over.

It's not his fault the whole Championship 'race' is as dull as dishwater but that is the reality at the moment. It's just embarrassingly easy.

    That's ok,I don't blame you at all.
It's a shame the red bull is so far ahead in Max's hands because if it wasn't it'd be a hell of a good season given how everything behind him is unfolding. However, it is a non competition because max clears off into the sunset each race.
Ultimately, the field will close up, but I doubt it will be this season.
I'm also disappointed in how the cost cap punishment has clearly not done anything.

RadioactiveWaste watched about an hour of thee race and just got totally bored. When Hamilton won his World Championships with Mercedes at least he had competition from Rosberg and Vettel. Verstappen has no competition at all. Enjoy watching the rest of the season but I for one will not bother watching another race this season. PS really happy for Lando though.

Apparently Hamilton had to spend a lot of the race managing engine temp and cooling. He'll be disappointed to not be on the podium for sure.
I'm baffled Perez got driver of the day,he did fine but there were more impressive drives for my money, both Lando and Georgie boy did more, particularly Lando who had to eak his tyres out to the end to secure P2.
The return of the honey badger was good, hard to say how it would've been without getting a turn 1 love tap, but enough in it to suggest he's woken up from his McLaren nightmare. I'm not going to pencil him into next year's red bull just yet, but clearly there's hope for the Danny fans.
I'm starting to wonder if netflix are just paying Ferrari to do these things at this point (then I remember they're Ferrari, and todt/brawn/Schumacher apart, they've always been like this)

I’m siding with AngieRam in defence of John McGovern. He did all the un-noticed donkey work that enabled the rest of the team to “tick”.
I agree with Mikel Beck being in the side -a complete duffer. As was Andy Todd, who arrived with great fanfares on the back of his dad’s reputation.

Warren Barton was another poor player. He arrived with Rob Lee who did put a shift in, but all Barton did when he got the ball was lump it skywards, hopefully up the pitch, but mainly upwards as high as possible. What a waste of Derby oxygen.
Then there were the two French guys that Colin Todd brought in who were dire. And on the subject of Colin Todd - no matter how great he was as a player, he shafted the club as a manager. He was being groomed to take over from Jim Smith, maybe at the end of that season. Instead he jumped the gun, went behind his boss’s back and got Jim sacked. The result was that the team wouldn't play for him, and was worse to watch than anything that John “personality vacuum” Newman could conjure up.
Good grief! We put up with some troach in our time, haven’t we?

Really made up for Lewis didn't think I would see him on pole again this year. The first few laps will be interesting. Hope Lando has a decent race again.

Make a better go of recruitment when finances allow.
We have done really well strengthening the defence, but this will mean sod all if we don't score the goals needed to go up, which i dont believe we will currently.
If its true we were chasing after Jack Vale from Blackburn, someone who has scored 3 goals in 40 odd games, I'd suggest we are scraping the barrel and then some.
Mid table this season with a go at promotion next season I imagine.
