Yep. A good day considering. At least we got an away game out of the way ?

The great escape is still on. Cardiff and Reading both lost so it’s 9 points and 8  points respectively.
Cardiff interest me mostly as we really only need to make up 6 points on them before the last game of the season and one of those games is against us.
So if we can beat Cardiff away in the rearranged fixture then we only need to pick up 3 more points than them from elsewhere.
It doesn’t seem that daunting if you look at it this way.

The problem with that theory is that the stadium is collateral in a deal between Mel and MSD and that is not subject to any administration process.  If we go under Mel still owns the stadium along with MSD. He could go ahead with plans to make it a covered arena for entertainment events and conventions. It”ll rival the NEC. The stadium would still be viable even if it wasn’t a football ground.

And eventually the claims will be dropped, We will be bought by someone … but Derby will get another points deduction / fine / embargo … stone cold certain. The EFL are pure poison

They’ll find funding til the end of the season which will allow the EFL to kick the can down the road leaving us all in the same boat in May.

The EFL have said they want it sorting but it’s a legal matter so it’s not up to them to sort. So the admins seeking a legal ruling would satisfy the EFL.
So admins get this ruling sorted sharpish.

I’m probably being a bit thick.
Did the EFL use out of date rules to stop us on Thursday?

I don't think you're being a bit thick, that's how I read it hence why everyone went into that meeting so confident and we were all flying along on a cloud of positivity following Rooney's presser, only to wake up the next morning in complete disbelief.
Either that, or we're both a bit thick ?

It certainly seems like the admins rocked up with what they thought was a viable exit-plan, expecting to just get it rubber-stamped, and the EFL said no.  Whether it's down to out-of-date rules is still a bit unclear IMO.

I thought it was that they are using time travel to reference rules that they will introduce, but have yet to publicise, that allow the claims of Boro and Wycombe.

We have to play Cardiff twice. Including on the last day. If we can get within 3 points of them by then it could make for one hell of a showdown at Pride Park.
if you look at it that way then we only have 9 points to make up on them.

Are people just determined to go off on one regardless of what has been said from official channels.
No sooner have we had BAWT showing us the Admin position re- Wycombe and Boro that we have folk pedalling another Nixon tweet to get furious about.
Nixon has no credibility so why take anything he says seriously.

I see this as a positive,  there are so many doom merchants saying it's all going tits-up because of Boro and Wycombe and funding etc, or the ownership of the ground, reading too much into click bait journalism and the twitter frenzy that sets off as a result.
Realistically,  interested parties are still interested despite having to deal with MM separately for the sale of the grd, which as far as the administrators are concerned is irrelevant to the creditors they are looking after,  so the numbers bandied around for ownership may not even have this taken into account, the owner of the club doesn't have to own the grd, it's just preferable.
No movement with Boro etc can also mean they don't have EFL support, but most importantly they have squashed the comments that a preferred bidder can't be announced until that is sorted.
Also, they have stated we are good for funding in short term, and part of the preferred bid would be to help with funding thereafter,  which is in everyone's best interest as again it keeps the club viable, so the imminent liquidation view can be put to bed. Clearly stating the preferred bidder will have an influence in player sales if any is also a positive.
Just let it run it's course, it's only been 4 months which as said before, is a short period for a football club in administration especially with the complexities we have.

This is right. There is nothing from official quarters saying anything about why there has not been a preferred bidder. The Boro, Wycombe stuff is guesswork.
It could just as easily have been that the admins got wind of Ashley’s interest around the time they were going to announce Appelby’s bid and wanted to listen to him.
Boro and Wycombe are not creditors and any legal action will take months to even come to court. These clubs have no grounds to stop a takeover as well as having no case.
I think a lot of fans are getting hot under the collar as normally happens on a Sunday when these journo’s are tasked to write their column and need to find an angle no matter how much total boIlocks it is.
