  1. Shame he got sent off before half time in his first AFCON game, means he didn't play in either of their other 2 games. That would've helped sharpness!
  2. They haven't though have they. Thompson and Fornah have been right there, as well as the likes of Robinson and Fapetu. He'd bombed Fornah out entirely for a game or two.
  3. Anyone can edit that, means nothing.
  4. Should know Kane Wilson quite well, and Collins from Cardiff.
  5. No, you can't read. He's started 5 games this season. Last regular was then, he missed last year with a chest injury.
  6. Define good? The reason we are so desperate to do business is to get better, younger players than we hastily threw together last summer. Not blaming Rosenior for that, the situation was dire. But to suggest we got world beaters is disingenuous when they were largely over the hill and on bigger wages than average league one players. You're right on the second point. At the very least, we were lead down a little garden path to believing this season's budget would be fine. Now you could argue the competitive budget Clowes said is right given our league position, but the implications of what he said were not interpreted as it was seemingly meant.
  7. Really? We've been down here now a season and a half, and the only teams that have genuinely impressed me in possession have been Plymouth and Peterborough - and they were both wide open at the back. Take Peterborugh as the prime example of the "best" team we have seen recently. They drew 0-0 against Lincoln at the weekend, just like we did. Prior to that, it was 7 league games til their last clean sheet (16th Dec v Fleetwood), and all the games between now and then in the league were decided by 1 goal. What about the other form team, Bolton? Beat Carlisle 4-1 at the weekend, but prior to that 4 1-0 wins in their last 5. This isn't a team dominating and blowing teams away. This league is a league of attrition. You may have the odd performance where you batter a team, but more often, it's about a spell in a game where you're good enough to win it and having enough grit, fight and luck not to concede in the rest of it. Fundamentally, you, like many many of our fans, have an unrealistic expectation of what league one football is with league one players. Should we be better than we have at many times this season? Yes, I'm not saying that. But this vaunted utopia of controlling games, playing free-flowing football and keeping the door shut at the back is just pie in the sky. It simply doesn't exist with the calibre of players in this league and the teams we are playing against. This isn't Mac 1, and longing for it isn't going to do anything but wind yourself up with everything you're going to watch. More fans need to realise this, quickly.
  8. This is league one. This is what league one is.
  9. When we send Dajaune Brown to Gateshead just to do that? Make it make sense.
  10. If the box is "good signing" then this is certainly thinking outside of it.
  11. Think it was a free with money if we go up, similar to Fornah.
  12. Could be able to pay loan fees til the summer with buy options?
  13. This guy has more mobility than Hourihane.
  14. He's also not a striker, which would make me think it isn't who Warne referred to in his post match.
  15. Did Warne say anything about his attitude perception, or was it more what he thought he could still do from a physical/ability standpoint? Genuine question, I don't remember.
  16. Wildsmith, Nyambe, Nelson, Cashin, Sibley, Bird, Thompson, Fornah, NML, Collins, CBT. Vickers, Bradley, Robinson, Fapetu, Barkhuizen, Ward, Wilson
  17. We did with this specific player, didn’t we? He was on trial. Couldn’t sign him due to our issues.
  18. Holding midfielder isn’t a must. Would I like a midfielder? Yes. But just stop starting Hourihane and the difference would be drastic. This need for a “Eustace type” is archaic. Think it was @sagewho said that in another thread. Football isn’t like that these days, even in such a seemingly short space of time.
  19. It looks worse than it plays. Can't say it's bobbling around badly or anything.

    NFL 2023 Season

We shot ourselves in the foot. Against a defence that isn't good against the run we ran it 11 times. We turned it over 3 times, including on the goal line and a pointless throw into the endzone. As predicted, we beat ourselves. Was always gong to be the case. The Chiefs with the favourable referee and the darling QB do not need that help.
  21. Does he? His goals are pretty exclusively headers, first time finishes and penalties. Don't think in his wildest dreams is he going to drop a shoulder, do someone for pace over a few yards and ping one in the top bin.
