We have double figures out of contract (I think) in the summer. If we went up, this isn’t going to be close to the team that would start the first game in the championship. Worry about that if we manage to get promotion.

Dont know how much of other teams you watch, but im starting to believe it is just League One. Most “good” teams are exactly like we are. Will batter some teams, then play indifferently most of the time but grind out wins.

Problem is, for a winger, he doesn’t want to go in behind and he isn’t fast. He’s an old school right midfielder in the mould of Beckham who wouldn’t really have an obvious wide position in the game today either.

Just seems like another one age is catching up to. Has the odd moment, but struggles to keep it up. Hourihane is similar… can see what he can do with that goal on Thursday, but it’s not a regular thing anymore.

You’re not imagining it, but you are overlooking the main reason why it happens. Teams can no longer sit and defend in a low block when they’re already losing. They need to step out and try and score, which leaves us more space to work with in attacking areas.

We don’t tend to rise to the big gates some times and the atmosphere can also be worse. Maybe that’s anecdotal, but that’s how it seems.

Without coming across like a “this like is s***” merchant… but it kinda is when it comes to free flowing performances. Quite often it’s about winning the physical battle, keeping errors as minimal as possible and getting your noses in front. Within games you’ll have good moments but full games are rare. We are a season and a half in and no team have really looked amazing

Tend to agree, the only thing I’m clinging to is the fact we play better against teams that come out to play against us which gives us the room on the break. A lot of our good early season away wins were against those teams, although seems a long while ago now

We probably do pay players 3 or 4 times what they do... We also get over 3 times as many fans at our home games. The narrative we spend money is laughable when we haven't spent a fee in about 4 years at this point.
