Ravanelli for me. Kinkladze also a contender... had flashes of brilliance but spent most time injured or on the bench.
I wonder if Baggio would have been another big name disappointment had he signed?
Are we still paying him off?

Spotted this on my Twitter timeline this morning. Fair play to whoever runs the Yorkshire twitter, classy and knowledgable.
Did I detect a slight hint of self-entitlement amongst the comments?

And then they changed it slightly making it sound like we snuck a win, rather than the cruise to victory it was.
A lot of the “big” clubs having their own in house commentators is irritating. Especially in the championship where BBC coverage from both counties commentators together is the norm and gives a much more balanced view. I don’t really see why they don’t do that for the T20’s as well ?♂️ I can just about stomach 40 overs but 4 days of bias tripe and then not knowing anything about the Derbyshire players gets testing ?
Have they stopped calling Madsen 'Masden' yet?

Followed the progress via cricinfo down in the wilds of Somerset. Pulsating to say the least.

And staying firmly off-topic, there was for years an entry in the Manchester telephone directory - Johnny Whitewash, Painter & decorator.

I still have a copy of his collected works. The man was a genius ?
I have to disagree. The man was a cretin. Is it any surprise they used to pelt him with rotten vegetables.

There was (is ?) an engineering’s company called Dowty Mining in the south west somewhere, made monster hydraulic equipment for the pits .. The chief buyer was Mr Round and the material controller was Mr Large. Reps reports on visits … “ I called to see Large and Round”
How about the Solicitors firm in Leamington, Wright Hassall.

Maybe a prospective purchaser of the stadium has insisted that the pitch must be brought up to scratch as a condition of purchase.

Would be funny to see for sure
Although might be an idea to send the teams coach driver a Tom Tom sat nav in the post as he might not be able to find Wembley stadium as its been a while
What's Andre Wisdom doing at the moment? Has he got a licence to drive a coach.? That would be fun.

Not as amazing as 1933 which brought Sunderland’s record crowd. 75,118 crammed into Roker Park to witness a THURSDAY FA Cup quarter-final against Derby County. With so many in attendance, the game was stopped several times to move supporters off the sides of the pitch.
My maths teacher was at that match. Told us about the crushing crowds. He came from Sunderland.

I was amused when Don Amott pulled out from sponsoring the County Cricket ground in a hissy fit, one of the stands was sponsored by, and renamed, the East Midlands Demolition stand.
Maybe they're in for it.

In a league with a whole host of big clubs and big fanbases, 80 points might not be enough even for a play-off berth.
For 80 points to be the high watermark required to sneak into the play-offs is extraordinary. To put it into context Oxford, who will miss out with a current tally 75 points, would have made it into the top six in each of the last 11 seasons. As it is Sunderland may need 83 to qualify for the play-offs for the third year in succession and cap a strange season at the Stadium of Light.
A quality team will be required to win promotion from league one.
The club's at the top of league one have better strikers than dcfc. Lawrence is our best striker, and he's leaving on a free.
I don't believe that players at the end of their careers and young loan players, will be enough to win promotion next season.
Coming out of administration is just the start of the journey, we might also be restricted on transfers next season by the efl.
In any case signing players in League one could be challenging with the competition for quality players in that league.
The high points tallies for the top 6 clubs may possibly reflect the quality (or lack of) of teams at the botom of the division.Morecambe avoided relegation. Even Buxton gave them a game.

What do you classify as getting off lightly?
You mention Leicester in your post to compare and contrast with us entering administration I assume but they weren't docked any points at all.
And that's the very reason that points deductions were introduced, to deter overspending. I was working in Leicester at the time, made my blood boil. They still owe the company that built their new stadium £6 million I believe.
Now there's a team that haven't been punished enough, in fact, haven't been punished at all.
