There's absolutely no way that all restrictions will be lifted in a couple of weeks. It would be the absolute height of stupidity given the current 'surge'. As a minimum, I would suspect that if one restriction only is to remain, then it would be NHS T&T.

Surge? lol. Stop looking at cases and scaring yourself!

Anyway, yep, I'll be there, but I suspect we will be 50% in August. Agree it'll be season tickets only but nightmare for Derby to reseat people!

Jack and CKR front 2, it’s a marriage made in heaven. JM is a natural finisher and CKR is an excellent and experienced target man who is a natural leader to boot (just the ticket to work alongside JM).

Jack Marriott needs to be given a chance by Wayne Rooney and his staff, we remain under an embargo (allegedly) and if not we have no money to spend. We need to use the resources already available to us and Jack is a goal scorer, something that we obviously lacked last season.

If the rumours are true and WR deems JM to be a bad influence etc etc…. The phrase “people in glass houses” comes to mind

    Relegation all over it.

The rules are confusing but in essence yes. Always a risk that someone tests positive and they won't be able to return.

Booked this 2 years ago for late July, nice villa on the Algarve, whole family going for my 60th. Flights booked separate, so might get buggered there with changing etc. Need to check.

But are any of these countries or the UK requiring you to take a test before you leave them in order to return home?

US States are like countries. I imagine some states have low cases and no variants and have opened up, especially warmer states with large outdoor events.

I presume other states still have restrictions where cases remain high and risky variants may have emerged.

Apologies if I'm completely wrong and the whole country has reopened again regardless of local case numbers or variants. I also assume their border policy is much less of a joke than ours.

They have restrictions on entering from outside the USA but internally it’s so what you want - and there is a lot of movement going on. (Family live in LA).

California is removing all restrictions and returning to normal middle of June.

I watch a little bit of US Sport and seeing the golf and baseball with good size crowds (or full crowds in Texas) is amazing... and then you look at the numbers which just keep falling even in these States.

I don’t buy the winter/Summer too much over there (I do here) - in Texas, Florida, California it’s pretty much summer all year round.

What I see, and when chatting to friends over there is that people don’t talk about Covid or get caught up in it. They have literally returned to normal. The narrative has changed.

Honestly - if we no longer published the daily case total (we don’t publish daily deaths for any other type of illness/reason and we don’t publish daily flu cases and never have we done), so if we stopped publishing Corona Stats, people would soon start talking about other things and returning to their old behaviours.

For the record - I’m still saying if you have symptoms, get a PCR, isolate and if you don’t follow that rule, big fines.

Do the US states have a new variant like we do?

You mean the 20,000 variant of this virus.

And who knows - they’re not worried about things. That’s my point - we are reporting and scaring everyone anytime something comes up the government/press can half link to use the phrase ‘mutant’.

Who knows what they have in the States - I’d be shocked if the Indian variant wasn’t there - just they’re not shouting from the roof tops every day about it.

Youve sadly proved my point with one line.

  6. Genuinely believe there will be mass protests if we don’t fully open up on 21st June.

Hospitalisations are steady, cases are low (but as a lot of restrictions have opened up a small rise is expected) and the vaccine role out is progressing at 600k jabs a day.

I am sat in a pub garden and being served outdoors by a member of staff wearing a full visor. How ridiculous is that?

Whilst we keep daily reporting of the numbers and print everything SAGE keep warning about instead of looking at their performance history, the hysteria will remain.

People need to start getting on with it - like a number of US States have done and shown life continues as normal doing the things we like doing!

  7. It’s good to see us targeting this country for talent. Hendrick came over as 16 year old (around that age). A few others have not made the grade but it’s a promising market.

Hope he settles with wherever the club house him and he can spend a good three years in the U16/U18’s before progressing.

Knight worth more than that if not double that.

Remind me on his goals and assists contribution last season B4?

He couldn’t even maintain a spot in an under performing team.

Regular football, won’t get that at Brighton. Very unlikely though due to wages so another loan would be more likely....

I see a Sheff Utd being the type of club he will move to next. Needs to be part of a promotion team to stand a chance of Premier League gametime.

  10. My money is on us not scoring the 39 runs needed to make them bat again.

Is the cricket side of things at Derbyshire really as bad as the football side at Derby. I know finances are small and we did incredibly well to turn another profit last year but our play this year on the field has been atrocious. Our only chance of getting a result is when the weather is bad for more than a day!

Then both overseas signings are a nightmare. Giving Melton a year so he can be naturalised next year is pointless if he isn’t any good.

Signing a player who statistically is likely to get injured is a bad move as well. How much did we spend on return flights and one game with figures averaging 50?

I hope the 20/20 gives us something at least. Got my tickets for the Notts game. I just want it to be competitive - I’m not expecting a win, just a competitive game.

I used to live in the same apartment block as him in Birmingham, I'd recently moved in and (almost literally) bumped into him in the lobby. Not realising who he was I instantly just introduced myself and waited for his own introduction, which never came. I think he was a bit shocked that I didn't know who Birmingham's reserve goalie was.

I'm pretty sure the cigarettes' flicked off the penthouse into our garden were from his mates.....

Interesting apartment block, David Gregory-kumar lives there, and Simon Callow used to have his 'city hideaway' apartment there.

Being Dutch - I'm not so sure they were his mates cigs...
