Well they’re not coming down with £381m. That’s money they’ve spent already, certainly most of it.
In return a losing culture and players who may not want to be there. Most teams then lose their best 1-2 players on top of this.
Agreed that a parachute payment makes it harder but that’s a legacy affect of clubs trying to compete and therefore having players on a lot of money.
The real issue for me is the salaries players get paid. This has distorted the picture and the knock in effect is everywhere. It’s why Lawrence and Waghorn are on 20-30k because the market has justified it when top prem players are on 200-300k a week.
However if you cap that, clubs will find a way around it. We (nearly) found ways around P&S. Pay them what you want.
I would abolish P&S full stop. If an owner wants to spend his own money, let them.

Go Phil Mickelson - I think a bit like Lee Westwood earlier in the season he won't carry it over four rounds but what a show. I know he looks quite punchable but Phil does always look like he's having fund, certainly more often than I do at my place of work.
It was fun watching it this evening. I agree that I don’t think he will but I’ll be happy if he does pull it out tomorrow.

So without reading all 15 pages, the letter said we are under a transfer embargo, the clubs reply neither confirmed nor denied it. Are we and if so why?

DCFC desperate to post something they can spin as positive.
"Full time groundsmen do work they normally do every year" is the othercway this could be written.

Off topic really so my post might get removed, but i have no issue with any of them being open. I dont even agree with banning adverts, we are an intelligent species who have the capacity to make choices about what we consume no matter who tries to sell them to us.
I quite like a McDonalds now and then myself, im not fat though and i know when i have one im hardly eating a quality meal.
Something something about everything in moderation and all that.
I do agree with you but its a sad inditement of this country really when fitness and health was not a priority during the past twelve months.

I read that one of the reasons it had hit us hard was our obesity levels. Sometimes health is about personal responsibility and maybe this might help people change their approach to their own lifestyle.
Agreed - good thing all fast food outlets remained open throughout every lockdown.

I’m not sure the big thing here - it’s being properly reseeded like it is every normal year.
We have full time groundsman - their not part time employees whose job suddenly disappears in the off season.

I don’t actually that’s Alonso anymore on Twitter

Apologies if this has already been discussed.
I have just watched highlights of the Sky Sports coverage from the game yesterday. Straight after the final whistle the commentator says of Derby "there may be bleak news on the horizon in other respects, but their main task of stopping in this division has been achieved"
What bleak news is he on about? Sounds like he knows something we dont.
I don't believe any commentator is in the know. Just a generic comment given everything thats happening.

Apparently T20 is classed as an “elite sport bubble” whereas the county championship isn't ?
That's just weird - I thought all professional sportsmen were given exceptions.

I would love to see Derby play in the champion league one day.
I'd just love to see us play in the Champ one day.

The lads played a handful of first team games for a team struggling for points in a highly competitive league... but yeah we can all tell from this that he won’t make it at all and definitely won’t improve any further.
So you agree with me then.??

Still early on in his time with us, but based on the few appearances so far would folks be keen to have him on loan for a second year? If man u were willing to let him go again I'd say yes.
Considering our lack of CBs in the squad it could be good to have him back having built up some rapport and gained experience over half a season. Providing he doesnt have a total mare in the next 10 games of course.
I was expecting better to be honest.
Poor touch and positional awareness so far.
I think his height will be his longer term detriment - is he a centre back or a full back etc.

Knight has given more this season overall although going 4-2-3-1 tonight and with Knight’s recent form, I agree Sibley would have been a better option.
he got a few chances at 10 under Cocu early season and looked way off it. Played wide against Brum did well, I thought he played well against Wednesday also but he gave away the free kick which saw us lose, unlucky to lose his place, but then we went on a winning run. Not done enough until the last couple of games for me.
As for the frustration, that’s great, he wants to play. He’s an angry teenager like Wazza used to be, doesn’t mean he’s right though. He’s had time out the team to review things, work on his discipline let’s hope now he kicks on in the next stage of his development.
What has Knight given this season? (Although that question can be asked to most)

I saw someone had a $100 bet on Phil this weekend for a straight win. 250/1!
Really happy for him.
