Has anyone connected with Derby actually come out and even alluded to what our transfer budget will be this summer, whether we will have to sell first to outlay on transfer fees etc etc?

I genuinely don't understand why people wouldn't give Fozzy a year based on his performances over the last 2 seasons.   Yes at his age you can't look long term  but he's versatile, played well and played quite a few games.    

The first 2 cost no transfer fee whilst the 3rd would cost more up front than we paid Rooney in wages during his time as player and manager with us. It's a transfer fee which would mean no budget for any other signing during the summer.

Fozzy played v Bolton and was the best player on the pitch!

Blackburn are quoting people £15m for Szmodics so not sure where you’ve read £4m. It’s nonsense like, he’s 29, they ain’t getting £15m. 

Szmodics is rated at around £4m so I think we can forget that unfortunately.

Wel they’re both regular church goers so it’s an easy mistake to make especially as we’ve got Vicars already. 

I've just been told by a Huddersfield fan that there was talk of Sorba Thomas joining us and agreeing to terms last week. Not one I believe and haven't seen a single person mention it elsewhere, but thought I'd note it here in case it happens and I get ITK credibility. 

I've long thought Mike Ashley would buy us eventually, but I just can't see David Clowes selling to him.
I feel like our next move financially will be a carefully thought out one. He is a real fan of the club, not a chancer looking to a make a quick buck.
Clowes won't want the stadium being renamed to Sports Direct arena I can't imagine.

It can't be can it if the reports that the efl put a 12k a week limit on us were correct.   If I remember correctly last season Hourihane was reportedly on that as top earner. 

I don’t think it’s a bad thing for Clowes Dev’ to be our landlord . They have the expertise to maintain and improve PP. Imagine if the city council had bought PP , like councilers said when they were after votes . As for DCFC , I don’t think we will ever get an owner as genuine as D.C ever again .

It's provides an idea of how much promoted teams need to strengthen to stay in the Championship. The gap between championship quality and league one.

To summarise this season Derby had a wage bill of around £17m.  The Championship average wage will is around £30m - so £13m more than we're currently paying.  Next season our income will increase by approx £7-8m compared to what we have been getting in Lg1.  So already thats a shortfall of £5m not including include any transfer fees etc.
Given that a wage budget is typically a good indicator of league position and Derby under DC will be run sustainably, any outside investment is going to be crucial if we hope to cement our position in the Championship nevermind push on towards the play-off positions.
We've got a lot of work to do this summer, with little room for error.

As an investor no, but for Clowes the stadium is the only bit which fits in their companies portfolio and is a different legal entity.
