  1. Talk Sport have just read out a message from a listener (Birmingham fan) who took his 10 year old to his first game at Pride Park. Said he couldn't believe the scenes, beer & drug fuelled, seats smashed and thrown, and here's the killer line - this was the behaviour of his club's own fans! What a great advert for Birmingham City eh?

So out of interest, does anybody yet know if Birmingham have paid for the damage caused?

We'll be mathematically safe before the final day I reckon, will be a massive party atmosphere.

Reading are that rubbish and there's other teams who could be dragged in too as mentioned, whereas if we keep our main players fit e.g Beilik, Lawrence, and Davies we are good enough to get a points total that would challenge for the Playoffs without a deduction I think.

Just have to keep that core players fit because we have such little depth and big reliance on those 3 +Bird, and Plange.

Don't forget about Festy. Nobody should under estimate the effect he is now having on games, both in terms of his play, and how much he lifts the fans.

  3. Bristol City vs Reading and Cardiff vs Peterborough are tonight's stand out matches.

I think Cardiff are all but safe now, our only real chance of survival is finishing above Reading.

So come on Bristol and Cardiff.

Oh yes, that nice bunch of Smoggies are away at QPR. Cheering on their opponents will be good practice for Saturday.

This is what we're up against.

Reporter for TalkSport and Sky Sports. I mean, it's just total and utter poo.

Exactly which clubs have been relegated by the EFL?

Plenty of clubs have been fined and / or docked points as a punishment, but who has actually been relegated?

Is this really what the general public think?

It wouldn't surprise me if, whether we survive this season or not, the EFL (if they continue to exist after the eventual end if this whole fiasco) will try and increase the points deduction for breaches of P&S regulations, thereby effectively relegating any team that breaks the rules.

Perhaps that is what this is all about. The EFL believe that any club breaking P&S rules should be relegated. If we had 'bought into that', and we're still say 10 to 15 points from safety, the EFL would have approached this whole sorry saga in a different way. We might not have had to sell off the players, and we might even have had a new owner. Who knows?

Gibson isn't on the board of the EFL. No, I don't think any collusion has gone on. Of course there is a connection, Gibson threatened to sue the EFL if they didn't enforce their own rules properly, they then enforced their own rules properly. No, I don't want a situation where league tables are player out in court, I also don't want a situation where one clubs cheating potentially costs another club money/a shot at promotion. I'd think go for it.

Following Gibson threat (as you refer to it), the EFL is now actually going against their own rule which states that member clubs cannot take action against each other with regards to breaches of P&S regulations. Only the League can take such action, which they already have done. So what has Gibson got on the EFL that they are prepared to break their own rules?

So question, do the EFL have within their powers the ability to sidestep arbitration and inform the relevant stakeholders (DCFC, Boro, WW maybe) that this will be done in court?

I think Boro will refuse, I think the EFL will refuse and we will go to a corrupt arbitration sitting and the future of the club will literally be determined by that panel.

Also as an aside, not much is being paid of the EFL rule about one member raising a claim against another member? I know MM referenced it in his statement but the rule was always there. So surely that rule alone is the first point in the panel and that should get it thrown out?

I'm really struggling to get my head around this as well.

Mel's statement suggests that with regards to breaches of the P&S regulations, there is an EFL rule that states "only The League can bring any action against a member club", thereby prohibiting member clubs taking action against each other.

Have I understood this right, because if this rule is as Mel states, then how are the EFL allowing Boro and Wycombe to claim against us as they have already taken action against us?

Could this be one of the reasons why Rick Parry is going away to consider his response to Mel's statement?

Sorry but just don't see how this can possibly work. See the following Twitter thread for why not

Whilst we all appear to agree that Mel's statement was very personal, and aimed squarely at SG, RP / the EFL, and that nobody from WW, surely Mel would not have been so stupid as to not take legal advice before going public.

It came across as a piece that probably took some time to draft, certainly not just a knee jerk reaction to other recent events.

It is possible, like others have said, that Mel has been waiting to step in for some time to allow others to 'show their hands', and has been drafting this statement during that time.

Some of the comments could even be libellous, so if he hadn't taken legal advice, he'd be a bloody fool.

Lots of understandable negativity, but a positive to focus on - the away fans sound brilliant on radio Derby while I make dinner. Can hear every song. Those fans are doing us proud!

I'm stuck at home, with commentary on BBC Radio Leeds. The Rams fans still sound good though.

Commentary and pundit very poor. Makes Radio Derby sound good ?
