Jram reacted to Archied in Derby County vs Stevenage (A) Match Thread
Would you be saying similar if he had done fantastic and a club was trying to poach him with him screaming that we should let him go without compo for him ? Of course you wouldn’t , you would be calling him a selfish greedy Judas , whether it’s time for him to go or not is a different agreement but the reason managers and clubs sign contracts is to safeguard themselves whichever way it goes ,
your post is absolute nonesense

Barkhuizen was offside only twice during his whole time on the pitch last weekend.

I can see this thread about the Stevenage game is in danger of descending into a Warne out thread, do you reckon we aught to start a 'Warne out' thread and discuss it further in there?

Does anyone remember administration and 21 point deduction and nearly losing the club all together.

Jram reacted to Curtains in Dear Richie Barker
I must admit the comments by Barker where slightly condescending to the fans.
The Derby fans are important and need to be considered but just lately it’s felt like the management team are getting loads of criticism and some of it is unfair

Yeah - it's seen as "staff training" to sometimes get your assistants to do media. Especially if they have ambitions to manage themselves. There is more to being a manager than just coaching. Media is one thing. Putting up with hysterical fans demanding you get sacked because you didn't win a football match is another 😂

Jram reacted to Carnero in Dear Richie Barker
The question was literally framed as "It's important not to get carried away with outside noise isn't it?" so Barker had every right to answer the question using the very same phrase.
Some people will just choose to take offence to anything if it fits with their preconceived narrative.

Jram reacted to Tamworthram in Pro Warne
Whether our players have proven championship ability or not is a debate for another day but the point of his comment, as I understood it, was that our poor home form makes losing any away game more of disaster. If our home form was good we could afford to carry (I.e. it’s not a disaster) the occasional blip away from home. He wasn’t talking about whether should be avoiding defeat against teams like Shrewsbury or not. Hence why I think you have misinterpreted his comment.
There is plenty to be critical of PW for but that particular comment isn’t one of them. He was simply stating a fact.

I think that is being a bit harsh and you are misinterpreting his point (IMO). If we had been winning our home games then to have lost only our second away game (out of 7 and having won 4)) wouldn't have been so much of a disaster pretty much regardless of the opposition but particularly in the case of a team like Shrewsbury. After their win at the weekend, they are ranked 7th best in the league for home form. A "club of our size" is irrelevant and some of us need to get this divine right mentality out of our heads. We're a league one team with, generally speaking, league one players.

Good farewell win for Warne.
He has laid the foundations. He can walk away with his head held high and leaving us in a position of strength.
John Eustace can come in and take us to another level.
I see it now.

I am willing to give him the rest of the season , far too early to be writing us off yet , good results in the next 3 games and everything looks different , it’s that fine margins , it’s now down to the staff and players , who knows Saturday could be the turning point. COYR

I didn't want Rosenior to go as I thought he should have been given more time to work with his signings, I'm not keen on more instability, and it seems a moot point as - let me be the 10,000th person to point this out - the club can't afford to sack Warne.
BUT it's frustrating as I genuinely think we are not THAT far away from being much better off, at least points-wise. The Bolton game was ruined by the duff red card, Cambridge & Cheltenham would have been wins - and Notts County more convincing - with only marginally better finishing. Then the results would at least justify the performances. As it is, we're 12 games in and look out of contention already.
As for style, the Blackpool game was another false dawn. The players seemed pumped up and played with bite & swagger, then the next week(s) it's like they've got the handbrake on again, and that can only from the coaches, right? That wasn't a perfect game by any means, but at least it felt like we could outscore any opposition playing that way. The fans would be much happier if they were set up to bloody go for it from the kick-off, and I'm convinced the likes of Cambridge & Cheltenham would have wilted, maybe Shrewsbury too.
We now have technically able players, and some pace, but it's like Warne doesn't know how to use them. The defense is pretty solid, Fornah & Smith can shield, Hourihane can pass, Bird, Sibley, Barkhuizen, Mendez-Laing, Wilson, and Thompson all have the ability to run, pass and dribble. Just let them do that!
Also, drop Collins. Not to scapegoat him entirely, and he works hard, but he's normally standing in the wrong place, always slightly ahead or behind the pass/cross. He's good enough to come off the bench with 20 minutes to go, that's about it, and I'm not sure why Warne is so loyal to him.

What makes you say that? I sincerely hope the players are smart enough to be a bit more long-term than turning on the manager in this position

Nope. The majority I talk are behind Warne as, aside from the turgid football, they can see the bigger picture and they recognise just what a difficult ob he has when you go through the many extenuating circumstances.
He needs and will be given time. I'll say it again, a few disgruntled fans won't change Clowes mind. He gave Warne a 4-year contract for a reason.

My support for Warne is probably down to the fact I think the games this season are a very small sample size (I think it’s unfair to include last season given the squad changes) and we’ve not been as bad as everyone seems to think. People dismiss injuries but we’ve had multiple injuries at any one time and it obviously affects things. People were fuming when Oxford beat us but the performance genuinely wasn’t bad and they’re currently second because you can’t judge a club by its perceived size in this league.
We are in a very salvageable position with a few wins and I think there’s enough quality with everyone fit to go on a run.
My only worry is that he’ll be sacked because the players will listen to the outside noise and it then becomes a self fulfilling prophecy where they don’t perform for him so we inevitably lose- that’s the only way I can see him being sacked

Definitely too early to sack him. If Clowes sacks him, I’ll be shocked. So much time to turn it around and improve. So many other factors other than the manager which affect results.
So many cautionary tales of managers sacked and things not improving. So many where clubs retain a manager and they go on to be successful (many in significantly deeper mires than we are currently in under Warne).
I think we’re about to see a run of results

Warne will come good. Wait and see.
The scenes in May next year will be glorious. Warne leads us to promotion and Waghorn and the lads are on the Wembley turf in front of the Sky cameras belting out ‘Paul Warne, your football is s***’.
I’m looking forward to it more than my honeymoon in Antigua.

Does this mean you are David Clowes himself?
