There was zilch of that on display last night playing as we did. Thats my main worry

Thing is, it was so predictable. Given none of our midfield are attack minded, we basically had eight defenders and two forwards to start a home game.
Added to that, neither of the two forwards are good in the air. They are so different they will never be a good pairing.
Plan A is to get it wide and ping it into the box. To whom?
If Warne can’t see that’s a flawed plan then I’m seriously worried.
We discussed this in the East Stand before a ball had been kicked. It’s basic stuff.

Just got home. Thought Wigan was depressing. That was so not worth the effort involved but positives:
    - South Stand much more perky tonight do you think as no drum or nothing to do with it?
    - good size crowd again for midweek in holiday season
    - it was nice and warm
    - no traffic on the way there so time for fish & chips for tea
    - Thommo great sub and Waggy nice goal - both should start Sat.
cant bear to even mention the rest of it. Unbelievably worrying

I do agree but unfortunately at the moment we arent getting anything at all out of those we have got. For example PW mentions the importance of set pieces but CHs corners were woeful

I hope that's not the last time we've seen Bird in a Derby shirt.

The truth is that as long as I can remember as a Derby fan, I’m yet to see a manager turn it around once things like being booed at half time starts happening.
A hammering by Peterborough or Bolton will be the straw that breaks the camels back.

Because it’s not working. And if Warne wants to succeed at Derby, or keep his job as some are questioning, then he needs to find the answers. It’s all well and good us getting it off our chests on a forum, that is of course the purpose of this space, so we can discuss and dissect the good and the bad of the club, Warne doesn’t have the luxury of moaning about it like we all do, he has to get on with sorting it. So rather than focusing on what the problem is I want to see him focus on the solution to it, which most seem to agree is to change the approach in terms of team formation and how they play.

I think the problem with Warneball is that we don't seem to be able to play it.
My understanding of the manager's tactics is -
Get the ball forward quickly and attack with aggression at pace but with the extra centre back providing a bit of a shield for when we lose the ball.
Use the wingbacks for width and get early crosses into the box, with two strikers and at least one midfielder trying to get on the end of them.
Press high, hard and as a team to force errors and get possession high up the pitch. The extra defender again provides cover for when the press is broken.
Most free kicks and corners driven into the box, where our well drilled players make the most of the opportunities.
Train hard to give our players superior fitness.
Have a strongly supportive team ethic so players do not fear making mistakes and bust a gut to cover for each other.

To me, that all makes sense. The problems are that we aren't doing very much of it and too many of the new recruits don't appear suited to it.
Someone said we're fickle as fans. No we're not, we're just fans. Like all fans we want results, good football (whatever you define that as) and to feel the team are giving their all. Ideally a manager gives you all three, but most fans will remain supportive if any two of those are achieved. Eventually every fan will turn anti if none are achieved, and that's where we are right now. Paul Warne needs to change things very quickly or he'll be Warne out.

Well as I’ve said before , my wife has started to come to games with me and is taking an interest in football , it’s interesting the comments from someone like her new to the game , she watched on rt with me last night and turned to me and said , it’s a bit like pinball, 😂,hmmmm
For me I wonder how have we made Oxford look like Man City? I’m not big on formations ect but what I always see is passing and movement , we have none of that , we cannot play a simple pass , we cannot make simple movements to give options,
honestly , I don’t know where we go at this point , it’s very worrying, perhaps a cattle prod in training and any player not making movement off the ball and any playing passing to the opposition gets zapped 🤷🏻‍♂️

I think it likely comes down to a combination of things.
    1) Rosenior having better contacts. A lot of the players we brought in spoke of how well rosenior spoke and a lot had either immediate or tangential connections to him.
    2) Passing football. Good players get sold on playing good football. Put simply coming to a side trying to play  good passing football is just going to be more fun for players to be a part of than not.
    3) Last year we were a just relegated team coming off the back of a season where we dont get relegated without extremely heavy penalties. This year we were an also ran in the league 1 playoff race. Put simply players will be less confident we can bounce out of the league quickly.
    4) Signing momentum. This is a bit more nebulous but if you look at the top windows played out they are interesting parallels. Last year we were able to move quickly to convince players to stay and then a good signing begot another good signing (on paper). This year we've lost key players, signings have taken time and haven't been the kinds of names to entice in other players.

I don’t get how anyone has watched that tonight and decided Washington and Waghorn are the problem?!
It’s the midfield and the tactics….or the execution of them, there’s no presence or control in the middle of the park, we’re not retaining the ball, we didn’t create much from open play. That doesn’t sit at Washington and Waghorn’s door, it’s down to Warne for the tactics and Hourihane/Smith/Bird/NML/Wilson/Elder/Nelson/Bradley etc for the lack of composure, creativity and control.
