How many players has he bought in to the Club and how many are any good? Not fair on the fans!

Some of the football Warne serves up is topped only by the likes of Jewell and Phil Brown for me. And Warne is managing it in League One. All the others have had tougher opposition to deal with.
Hopefully you have interacted with me over the years enough times to know I don't say stuff like that about managers flippantly.
We are in the worst division we have been in for decades and have been outplayed at times by the likes of Cheltenham and Shrewsbury. I have seen some of the most clueless, ineffective hoofball I've ever seen from a Rams team.

I see little point in changing now and I do believe we’ll be top 6.  Top 2, who knows.  It could come down to what happens in the next few days, who goes , who stays, injured players coming back and, out of al, the clubs up there, who can be most consistent.
I did walk away yesterday slightly concerned for Warne.  The booing, jeers sarcastic cheers when Hourihane went off doesn’t bode well for him long term.  I said to my mate, it’s a long time since we’ve heard that level of angst in a home crowd.  It’s a shame but I do wonder if he’s reached a tipping point?

What in the past season and a half gives you re-assurance that Warne will be able to change his game plan? He had three goes with Rotherham, is that what you think we should accept?

Oh and for anyone saying my expectations should be more realistic, Warne has said a few times that they want to be, and are aiming to be in the top two. Should his expectations be more realistic as well then?

Really? I don’t think I’ve ever seen him run a game. I really don’t know what type of midfielder he is. Not a DM but also not creative or progressive enough to play further forward.

I thought Thomson looked very good today, very mobile, always looking to tackle and win the ball. He deserves a run in the team I think.

😂 the balance isn’t right, Stevie Wonder could see it, it’s that obvious. CH doesn’t have the legs anymore so needs someone to do that side for him if he’s in the team. Bird doesn’t have the positional awareness. I don’t think there’s been a game this season where we’ve dominated midfield. I hoped Fornah would offer the solution but hasn’t done enough. Offload Bird, Ward, Fornah and Smith and sign a decent midfielder and a striker. If, and it’s a big if, we can get anyone to take them. In reality we’ll put all our eggs in signing Smith and end up with no one.

You say that, but Bird’s tackle success rate isn’t a problem at all. Aerial ability isn’t important for a centre midfielder, although that is also around 50% success and aggressive enough is just an emotive term. He fouls more than any of our other midfielders if that counts, but I don’t buy that aggression somehow makes a player better. It’s a characteristic that certain players like to exude but I’ve never thought it makes a player better.
The success rate of involvements Bird gets himself into isn’t at all bad, honestly, especially when it comes to duels. However, the rate of involvements he gets himself into is the problem. He’s been pinned as a player who can read the game well, intelligent and cultured central midfield player. I just wonder if the wool has been pulled over our eyes a little and the fact that he a) can’t anticipate danger very well and perhaps more importantly b) can’t spot opportunities very well is why his output over the course of the season is always underwhelming. I don’t believe it’s an ability issue, not that I think he’s a supreme talent, but he’s definitely a level higher than this but his inability to really do the above is the reason why we’re still questioning him as a player.

I’m happy for Warne to finish the season. But I would get rid regardless of the outcome.
Hopefully we get promoted, and we can thank Warne for his efforts and contribution in getting us back on track.
But if we don’t get promoted, he just can’t stay on. It’s an awful league, and this season in particular, the competition is so poor with the three relegated sides from last season all a mess.
If we can’t finish above Posh, Pompey and Bolton this season, we’ve got no chance of finishing above Wednesday or QPR next season.
Posh looked so much better than us the other week. There appeared to be a clear gulf. And to put into perspective, Posh would be a bottom six side in the Championship.

Teams playing football under Jim Smith, George Burley, Steve McLaren were all good to watch.
The simple fact is that we are in the third tier and making hard work of it. I think our points total is higher than our performances have warranted. Warne might be the man to get us out of L1 (although that remains to be seen) but he is quite clearly not the man to take us any further than that.
A man as smart as Clowes must be able to see it. I refuse to believe he has a Paul Warne shaped blind spot.

    What?
Let's get this straight. We've got one of the best squads, best support, best resources in a tin pot league - we're near the top because of that, not because of Warne's management and style of play.
With decent management, we'd be cruising, getting results while still playing decent, entertaining football.
Would you feel better about watching this dross just because of us getting enough results that put us in with a good chance of the play offs?

I struggle with Warne. I see nothing in the way we set up that gives me any confidence. I don’t really understand what the style of play is, we never seem to have any in midfield, yet somehow we look short up top and in defence. We get results, so I guess something must be right, though I do suspect that it might be due to our players just being individually better, but it’s not a great watch. We’ve won today, but it’s another unconvincing performance. I can’t think of many games over his tenure where I think we’ve played well and we look no different to the way we were after his first few games. If he left tomorrow I wouldn’t be upset

Poor until we scored even then wasnt great the free kick the wall disppeared ( good strike) but if the wall stand it would of been blocked then a class finish from carlo to win the game ( even the ball wasnt great it was behind him)

I think the performances need to improve - which is why I said his assessment was spot on.
I also think we need Nyambe and Fozzy/Elder back asap - to give us the solid base on which the winning run was built. And my own view is we need the extra midfielder for a little more control earlier in the games - Tommo or Fornah at the moment - and then 2 from CBT, Nat and Tom B.
    That answer enough? 🤔

I take my hat off to you and it’s great that there’s more supporters out there the same, but me personally yes Derby County is my luv and I’ll never support anyone else come what may, but I turn up on a Saturday or Tuesday night to be entertained, if I’m not enjoying what I’m watching then rather than travel the 1 and a half hours I’d rather stay at home and unfortunately that’s what I’ll be doing next year and just pick the games out that I fancy watching. Sorry but watching Derby at the moment is not entertaining for me😢

    Sack Warne.
    Get Warnock in.
    Put Wildsmith back in goal.
We have just played Lincoln, a Reading in dissaray and a very poor Cheltenham side...and made a right pigs ear of it.
We should be top of the table after those 3 games.
