So I am heartened to see the transfer thread on Max Bird full of his discussion on Max Bird, the player. 

My two pence worth - he looked excellent all pre-season playing the advanced midfield role because we were starting from deep. Yesterday the build up play was much slower, so Bird was forced up against the forward line where he was much less effective. That's not his fault, it's those behind him being so ponderous in getting the ball upfield. 

 

Good players take it upon them selfs to find the ball only because he's in more advanced position doesn't mean he can't drop back to find the ball! Granted he's no number 10. Mcgoldick last season dropped numinous amount of times to find the ball. Just like sibley last season,I  feel he stuggles to have a roll in our team that doesn't suit him. It will suit sibley more this season where bird I feel you can't have him and hourihane in the same midfield too similar you need Bird to work his socks off in with hourihane which he did in previous season yesterday he was static which we ended up getting over ran because of it.

Sell and move on didn't do nothing today! Ryan Woods would improve us alot over bird! Offers f all

Might be an unpopular opinion but we won’t be able to replace him with anyone that’s even remotely within the current restrictions. 

If there was no other option, and Bird decided there was no way he would sign an extension then we have to be looking at 3 million plus for him, anything less would not be worth what we would lose over the next year in a promotion push. 

Feel like this is a truly defining situation for Warne and Clowes. I’m one of the biggest supporters of both but if they can’t keep Bird then I think we will see a lot of fans turning on both quickly this season if results do go the right way. 

That's a utter joke, if you think this is the case we are doing well and clowes has done a fantastic job and made us alot better off as a club. As for Warne IF bird does want to leave then get the money for him if it is 3m as reported then snap there hands off he's not worth that! One year left on his contract I think 1.5m is acceptable offer! Bird you offer him a contract if he turns it down them get the money from him!

Think the way we line up with NML I feel it will suit barkhuizen down to the ground! Think if he plays in that roll I fancy him to get 10-15 goals this season

Also not fit and not played in a long time! I wouldn't be disappointed if we signed him, be a good signing but also with not playing in so long quote easily pick up injuries and is at the back end of his career

To be honest with you mate I didn't  realise he was at fgr last season, no need to put it such a arsey way! Why not just say he was in this league last season? No need to try and look big and clever 

Just seen Connor Wickham has been released, I could imagine him to be sort of striker Warne would be looking for think he would do well in league 1 as well that's if he would come to a league 1 team

No I just want to see players coming in, not just signing for every other club going! We will struggle with the current squad I just want something to excite me. Its like getting excited because being linked with them just to be like its a sh*ter Mickleover sports have signed them instead of derby 🤣 I just want us to sign players that's all 

I've given up on rumours can't wait for the window to actually open because everything just seems to be negative! I really hope the 14th comes and I'm feeling better. Hope Warne has players coming in

In all fairness I've very nervous about this window, until Warne brings in his own players and I see who he brings in and compared to who goes, being totally honest I haven't got any! (Just feels people we been linked with plus our own just seem to be going else where)

Its come from someone  i would believe but at the same time  unreliable as hes not anything to do with the club, but we do children's coaching with each other and we do a lot of local academy with our team and back at Moor Farm on the 10th and that's the reason I believe him as he knows people on the inside

Maybe it's just what I have been told, I'm not saying it's 100% true but it's come from a quite reliable  guy and it's a random asf name to just randomly  pull out the hat! We will see in the next few days I was just trying to share the info I have been told 

Only what I have been told, I don't think he shouldn't do bad in league 1 but definitely not a championship player

Rumours have it conor Washington has signed but nothing has been announced!
