It was a harem scared type of game and we were in it to the final whistle, against a team in second. No drama’s!

We didnt create anything very poor game of football we need to play to our strengths instead of playing completely different football week in week out i understand that some teams its harder then others but not to create many chances in the game is poor

Well guys the score did not go our way today but I thought lads tried hard we created a few chances but just would not fall our way but warning signs were there all to see but saw a llttle lad looking sad I had to cheer him up put a smile on his face.

I cant see how you can say didnt go our way we didnt create anything! Midfield absolutely none existent carry too many players the lads up front didnt have a chance we need someone in the midfield to take control of the game which we dont have! We need bielik to come back and control the play instead of it by passing the midfield we lack so much we look awful! Back to the stage where we dont look like scoring

So go back to the second goal that Collins scored at Cambridge and see Bird's contribution to it, not just the ball at the end which Knight could never play in a million years but winning the ball initially as well. In fact watch the highlights of the whole game and see how many times Bird wins the ball

? 1 pass what about the  silly foul against accrington stanley and not intercepting the ball for the 2nd peno if he just slides to get the ball. The 2nd peno against port vale he shys ojt of the tickle which comes to a peno again! Its ok looking at stats but his pass completion ratio is good but how many times does it put our other players in trouble! Its stupid look outside stats and what he achually does! 1 thing a game isn't good enough

Yet he is our greatest defensive contributor in midfield. Doesn't say a lot about the others if that's your view on Bird.

Yet if you achually watch him off of ball it by passes him many of times and costs us alot! Instead of looking at stats watch the game hes s*** we will never improve with him in our team your looking at simple stats how many lose headers, places he could intercepted the ball theres alot more to getting a ball and passing it 10 yards! How many times he passes the ball to our players but put them under trouble which makes players make mistakes its a joke

Bird is our best midfield player.

Not in everybodys opinions id definitely say knight is our best midfielder and i think smith will come in once fully fit and think he will be up there and when bielik comes back i think we will see more out of Hourihane i feel bird has great potential but is still to light weight and has still alot to learn

I thought upon relegation that a midfield trio of Bird, Knight and Bielik would absolutely dominate League One.

Then when Hourihane and Smith signed, I laughed as I couldn’t believe how good we had it in there.

Bielik leaving became obvious but I still thought we’d have the best in the league, comfortably.

But it’s been a major disappointment so far. Both individually and collectively, they haven’t been good enough.

So it leads me to the question. Are they underperforming? Or are they overrated?

The midfield when bird and hourihane doesnt work we need smith back in there instead of one or the other i feel bird needs time out of the team to get his playing levels back up and needs to learn to stop being scared of a tackle seems to shy away from the tackle alot in this league

Is it, top two already 7 points ahead, early in the season but,can we afford to fall further behind, I think we would, Ipswich are gonna be hard to catch already

The league is still ours for the taking might be 7 points but if we beat them both games its only a point! Feeling really positive now we have achually got a manager. COYR ?

Warne dennies interest in championship club Huddersfield job, so why would he be interested in Derby, given our current position, in League one.

The press, have selected a target, given that they have heard a rumour that lr, has been removed from his management duties at Derby.

I've previously gone on record saying that I didn't think that lr was the right man for the job, but he surprised me by winning the last game and he did so by doing something that I wanted him to do. He changed tactics during the game and he won that game.

A great manager in my opinion, is an adaptable one, who learns from his mistakes.

Half way through the summer we didn't have a team that would qualify to play in the league, 10+ players later and given no transfer budget, we are in a different position.

It takes time for thar many players to work together well as a team, and yet through lr leadership, they have.

I believe that under lr's management, we would win the next two games, taking us back in to the higher end of the play off positions.

I see us finishing the season in the play off positions.

Sheffield wednesday, Ipswich and Portsmouth remain the 3 clubs in my opinion who are most likely to be in the automatic promotion places.

We are not guaranteed to sign a better manager than lr.

I think that lr will only get better with time.

If a better manager was ready to sign a contract at the club, then maybe, but who is that better manager.

If lr has a better offer from another club, then that's different again, and I'd call the club foolish for not offering the perm role to lr sooner.

I think that lr should be the manager on a perm basis, given his current form. I would however, like to see him given an experienced older experienced manager as a deputy, to help guide him.

Given his current form hiw can you say that we would be barely hitting playoffs we should be looking for automatic promotion teams have already worked us out, i would love to see LR stay on at the club but just feel like he will never make a manager just always be a very good number 2 just like stevie mac

There was one cracking free kick last night that the defender did very well to head away from goal from just about under the crossbar.

The direct shot from Hourihane was very disappointing.

Yes that 1 was very good but 1 out of the all the games we have played so far this season isn't very good especially when not too long ago when shay given was doing them felt like we were going to score every time

  10. Wildsmith 4 he was awful at kicking the ball(in fairness really small and narrow)

Knight 5 really struggled against the winger, silly peno to give away but still playing out of place only reason its a 5 and not 4

Roberts 5 steady game seems to panic too much when he gets the ball

Cashin 4.5 ok game look like they struggled at the back could be more to do with davies being rusty

Davies  4 didnt look match fit

Dobbin 5 tried his best in a very poor team made some good runs and couple of nice turns

McGoldrick 5 tried hard when he came on had some fight in him

Sibley 4 didnt effect the game at all

Hourihane 4 really struggling with the pace he needs a runner in the midfield with him the role hes laying with bird doesn't work

Mendez-Laing 5.5 in and out of the game tried to take on his man get a few crosses in

Bird  3 doesn't effect the game at all we are carrying him and he passes the ball into danger and causes pressure on us

Collins 5 nice finish on the off side, he didnt see the ball enough to effect the game

Barkhuizen 5 looked better better when he came on should of scored

Osula 4.5 didnt effect the game but tried to get the ball

Thanks for your opinions Josh. See you again next time we lose.

In all fairness Buxton has been doing our set pieces and we dont look like scoring off them every ball is just floated ball we have good players with good deliveries we need to use these and get more goals from set plays

Wow!  You ask what he did……… without thinking too hard how about the forward ball into Mendez Laing for the 2nd goal.  Clearly much credit to Nathan for the finish but the ball into him was decent.

He might not be playing his best football at the moment but to say what you have is so over the top

You say decent thats all 1 decent pass where mendez laing didnt have the right to do anything with we need running in midfield hes better when hes pushing forward! Again in midfield we are losing it we need knight in there

At some point I'd (hope) he'd try Knight in midfield and AN Other (Smith, I guess, of the current candidates) at RB. Then we will find out whether what we gain (in terms of legs & forward drive in midfield) is greater than what we lose (in terms of a competent, energetic RB). I strongly suspect it will be, and that playing Smith rather than Knight at RB won't be that much of a loss at all.

Still better if we can sign a right back, of course!

Knight in cm is key for us max bird has done decent for us but the lack of him movement and shocking short passes are killing us! As soon as smith come on the speed of our play increased which coursed them problems

I think we will do very well to get a like for like replacement of his quality. A steady young replacement with room for improvement would do me ?

I agree mate but look at losing wingers then ebiowei he came in and smashed it there's players out their it's just finding them

  15. 27 minutes ago, Jimbo Ram said:

I do too but then saying he isn’t any good isn’t the case is it. I hope that we get some kind of fee for both. On the subject of being any good, I didn’t actually rate Buchanan and never have. Nothing to do with him acting improperly ?

I didn't mean it as he isn't any good questionable sometimes defensively but attacking very got with a very good delivery I just think we can find find someone with similar ability as he's not premier League quality that's why I said he's a good championship player

  16. 4 minutes ago, Jimbo Ram said:

He’s acted poorly but let’s not go down the road that he wasn’t any good. Probably our best player or one of over the last 2 or 3 seasons…

I agree last season or 2 but considering the situation we been it doesn't say a great deal in all honesty don't get me wrong he's a good championship player but he's nothing special especially at the age 30 never going to be more then a championship player! not like Buchanan where he has his whole future ahead I still disagree with what he's done

The EFL are supporting us in this.

Whilst the TUPE regulations are law of the land, they surely weren't written with footballers in mind!

We have already seen that the EFL aren't above applying their own rules above the law when it suits them. I think this is one such example.

Even if the EFL did step in I want him gone after this get his wages gone and get somebody who actually appreciates our club and wants to play for our club! Let's move on from these players! We are attaching better players then what Byrne is anyway so let's hope we can do it with his position!

  18. At the end of the day 400k is better then nothing buchanan can do 1 if that's the loyalty he's showing to us hope his career goes down the pan I really liked Buchanan and he's a real good baller but no player is bigger then our club! George Thorne was a million times better and I'd I bet you now he wouldn't of done this if he stayed fit

I reckon it'll be completely dependent on results. If the season looks like being a party in League 1, where we fill every away end look like romping to instant promotion, we'll probably have higher attendances than this season.

However, if we look like mid-table plodders, as soon as September ends our crowds will start to dissipate.

Really, to me, this thread is a proxy for how well Rooney and Kirchner perform.

I reckon the business plan will stop us being properly competitive so we'll be bouncing around between 6th and 10th. In that case, we'll average 20k.

Absolutely the case so it be a sell out every week! Championship here we come

At 31, is he a bit young for a member of the coaching team.

Is he playing as an attacking midfielder.

Sure cardiff fans are glad to see the back of a player, who will not score at least 10 goals in a season.

The Cardiff fans seem to think he's fairly slow for an attacker.

"That is not to say Collins has not had his opportunities, mind you. In fact, he has had 16 shots on goal, 12 of which have been inside the penalty area."

"whether the striker being unable to find the net is one of the many causes behind the Bluebirds' slump"

Not in any way ITK but when he left I got the feeling Rooney wasn't too fussed to see him go, even for such a miserly fee so would be surprised if there's anything in a possible return.

The reason we let him go was wages nothing else Rooney actually really liked shinnie
