Well, what a shitshow that was from us. I don’t know what’s happened to us but we were awful from minute 1 to minute 95. I thought you looked like a side low on confidence but who actually played quite well, you pressed us well and had done your homework to know that’s all you need to do. The personality we showed at the start of the season has disappeared, we’re in real trouble and should have lost by more.

Was impressed with your fans, after Shrewsbury I thought you might have been more negative but the South Stand were positive throughout, lots of supportive chants. You were a bit quiet considering you were 2-0 up, but that’s understandable after recent results. I also thought the ref was excellent.

No bright spots for us City fans I’m afraid, other than Demi Mitchell who will leave in January no doubt. A mini-slump has quickly turned into a relegation battle and none of us can work out why. We’re capable of being much better than last night but you wouldn’t think that. Calling us poor, inept and crap is actually kind, we were worse than that.

Anyway, good luck for the season, hope you go up. Despite singing ‘How s*** must you be, you’re still in league one’ last night, I hope you get promoted, your club is better than this.

Is that number 7? Thought he was really good wouldn't mind derby signing him

    Player ratings

Wildsmith  6 - Average as nothing to do to stand out

    Nyambe    7 - Solid

    Nelson      7 - Also solid

Cashin      6 - some poor passes put us under a little pressure first half but solid defensively.

Foz           7.5 - Solid defensively besides one missed interception, but the pass for the first and second goals were good

Bird          8.5 - This is the Max we need. His best game for a long while. Coincided with him playing in his best position. My motm.

Hourihane 7 - Was slightly above average but that was enough to give them a few problems.

Sibley       6 - Average. Nothing special but kept us ticking over. Although, he looks half the player he was when he burst on to the scene. Looks constantly knackered.

NML        7.5 - Some great runs, pressure, passes and goal. When he plays like this he’s one of the best forward players in the league.

Wlison     7 - Did some lovely forward play, missed most of his crosses but he was applying pressure constantly and wanting to be positive.

Waggy     7 - Not a goal threat but much better at bringing others in to play than Colin’s has been.

Washington  7 - scored and positionally very clever.

Collins     3/4 - poor. Cameo but could have cost us a goal at our end for his poor passing into midfield and also lack of control as well as a criminal head down selfish striker moment (when supposedly in a play making role) when Barks was in acres of space.

Smith       3/4 - poor as well. Did nothing in the middle except give the ball away. Positionally poor.

Barks       6 - Shame he wasn’t played in but made some great positive runs in limited time.

    At the game.

In all fairness Bird nearly cost us a goal by shying out of a header. Thought Bird had a good game apart from this

There’s been plenty of polls and a few ‘Warne Out’ comments, but thought I’d start the definitive ‘Warne Out Out’ post, which as fans of a particular Sarf London comedian means ‘properly out!’

No messing, I was on his side at first, but am tired of the utter banality of our football; mid table mediocrity and I don’t care what he did at Rotherham.

Please can we bring back some McLaren-esque footy, something to actually ‘entertain’ the fans? I’m sure I read somewhere that football should be entertaining 🤷‍♂️

    😞

Every international break, we sh** needs to go we look like the lower team

Bradley looked a beast in pre season 🤷🏻‍♂️

And bradley last couple hes played has looked solid, first couple he stuggled with, yes but i think that was lack of match fitness i wpuld have no problem we bradley starting but hes got to fight with cash and nelson which both are doing well to keep him out the team

Our 2nd. Collo couldn't get a shot away as the pass was behind him. Still manged to reach back and get is left foot to it. Ball went up in the air towards the far post where Bird headed it back. Good overhead from Collins but it hit the keeper, bounced out to Sibs who put it away. Collo's initial contact was as good as we could hope for given the poor quality of the pass. Bit of luck that it bounced up nicely for Bird to put back into the mix. Collo hit the target with his bicycle kick. He didn't do much wrong there...

Having said that, I can think of occasions in the last 2 games where he ought to have done better.

I get PW not wanting to play through the middle. I don't agree with it but I think I get it. If we had a Coldplay type of hold up, target man, going through the middle more would be a great idea. Collo isn't that type of player. Hence why PW prefers going down the outside and getting crosses in. With the inverted wingers last night we had other options and it worked. Play that again but with Waggy or Wash central and we can create more opportunities. Possibly even more so when JJ is fit.

Why not give brown a chance? He looked really sharp in pre season and brought players into the game. You never know until you give him a chance

Look lads just relax and play your football win that battle in midfield and win it early and the whole game becomes whole lot easier. For that to happen you need pick up game stand ground at times and say to your selfs not this time you shall not pass you shall not score because we are we are doing this josh Vickers and for his family after loss of beautiful wife. We are derby and this club we stand togather as one from.owner clubs and to the fans.

    We are Derby

    BLack And White Army.

I feel really bad for vickers but at the end of the day every player should play for each other like everybody is going through the same thing! I hope this plays a big difference in our season and use it for something to celebrate come end of the season and give vickers something to be happy about by the end of the season

Agree- If Brennan Johnson is worth £48 mill + 10% sell on , why was Knight so cheap? As for Bird , I know he is running his contract down , but Half a mill !

Difference is length of contract also currently a prem team and we are league 1 its litually comes to what league you play in

  8. I think its a tough one to answer, we have looked more balanced in the midfield since birds not been there. Also at the same time tommo/fornah gave us running in the midfield which has helped balance the midfield. I dont just think you can say yes or no its a team game and until hes in the midfield with more energetic midfielders as i feel hourihane looked better once this happened

    I agree I don’t think he’s a right fit at all

good manager but wrong club, feeling around the club at the minute just isn’t right

Small club manager. That's all we expect too much as a bigger club then Rotherham we don't need to be negative. Negative managers never last with derby, simple

  10. I'm really sorry but again everything goes against you Warne needs to point out the decisions! It's never going to change until you slag the refs off, Neil warnock/ sir Alex they get decisions because of this speak with your hear and be more against the refs (I thought we played well under warnes tactics)

Could have been but they were also lumping balls in the box in last minute desperation. I also think he wanted Bradley on the pitch for his height and to help his self confidence

Derby wasn't helping we needed to keep hold of the ball not just lump it forward to nobody, Warne is just negative

He’s a good young player and it baffles me why some people give him stick 🤷

He's had a very good second half but not all perfect best he's been In a long time! He's positioning let's him down but 2nd half worked harder then he has ever has

How different could last season have been if the midfield balance had been got right then?  Would Knighty have been playing for us in the Championship instead? Ironic its for Pearson. It will say a great deal if they all leave in turn having "heads turned" and seem to instantly be unleashed. "Didnt even set league 1 on fire."  Never mind anything else, not getting the best out of what was already right there last season is I think my sad turning point. We still have some good players and PW's job is to get the best out of them. Hope he does but we shall see and if he doesnt hope they have not all had "heads turned" and left 😢

Funny that! When people on here used to moan about Knight not being good enough

Since Bird tackles 50% more than Hourihane...

Neither of them tackle that much anyway hourihane finds alot more space in the midfield and that tackles hourihane does do he actually puts his foot in where bird shys out alot

    Stats aren't everything but....

Hourihane had 5 assists from set pieces, 5 from open play. A couple of those freekick assists were little taps to the side for some McGoldrick magic and Ward will be taking at least half of those set pieces this season so his output will decrease.

Sibley and Bird both created almost twice as many chances as Hourihane for teammates in open play last season, and both make 50% more tackles per 90.

The important thing in a Warne side is ability to press and win the ball back. When will Hourihane ever be that type of player?

You could say that for both of them. I just think hourihane and Bird can't play in the same midfield 1 has to be dropped and in my eyes that would be Bird
