The only thing with Rooney being manager or anyone of his status for that matter, is that the moment he achieves any kind of success with us he'll be off to Everton or United. It was the same with Lampard. Whilst I liked having them both as our manager, this is the sad reality.

Fresh start, total reset.
No more Frank Lampards DCFC and Wayne Rooneys DCFC.

Screams to me MM is still pulling the strings and Wayne wants nothing to do with it, disgraceful if true!

Apparently he turned down an approach from a championship club not too long ago but this was when the Kirchner deal was still a possibility. 

This is a really good thing for us. I know it doesn't feel like it right now, but it is.
We can go into next season with a completely clean slate. New owner. New manager. New players. Fresh start. Exactly what this club needs really after two years of straight trauma.
As for Wayne Rooney: yes, he did admirably last season. He could of walked away many times, sure. He didn't. You have to ask yourself why now, though. 
Was it our of "loyalty" ?
If that was the case - why leave now? Right before the beginning of the new season? Right as the administration nears its end?
Maybe because his choice of owner (he made no secret of this), who was looking to give his agent a role on our board (what?!) is now out of the picture? 
I'm not sad AT ALL to see the guy that completely derailed any chance Cocu ever had gone. His whole appointment was a sorry affair, as was the stinking 32 Red deal that brought him here in the first place. Bringing in Wayne Rooney was Morris' last great error, and I'm glad to see the last of his mistakes gone.

As for a suitable replacement, Darren Wassall would be my choice.

One of the small victories here is an end to "Celebrity DCFC". Hopefully now we can get stable financially and just be a normal boring run-of-the-mill football club that the tabloid media simply have no interest in talking about.
Since Lampard we've just had this bizarre media circus surrounding us.
Please can we just be boring and normal and safe and no more drink-driving scandals or drunken hotel extortion attempts or any of that business?

I think it has a lot to do with him and his agents very close relationship to Kirchner, personally.

(Me being my usual pessimistic self) - hopefully this isn't because he's been informed Clowes takeover will result in a 15 point deduction and he just can't be arsed with another season of dealing with something like that. 

We're in league one. We can't afford Sean Dyche, and he wouldn't join even if we could. 

Seemingly inevitable for weeks now.
I've been saying for ages I wouldn't blame him, and, I don't.
I wish him all the best going forward and thank him for his efforts.
I suspect his mind has been made up for a while but he didn't want to announce it until the club was safe, as it seemingly is going to be now.
Goodbye Wayne, I don't think it's panned out the way either of us wanted, but you have my respect and admiration for the way you've led us over the last 12 months.

I thought he’d be here for the rebuild and dead set on doing that. He’s turned down ‘better’ opportunities despite our predicament and stayed when not many others would’ve done the same.
But the same day we have positive news with regards to Clowes coming close to buying the Club, he walks. It now makes me think that his loyalty was based on more of a vested interest with a larger say in the Club, with his agent playing a key role with Kirchner. Now that’s not going to happen, he’s off. I genuinely did think (and still do think) that he had a strong connection with the Club and the people. Maybe he was only prepared to be a League One manager if he had the connections in the boardroom to go along with it.
I’m gutted he’s gone. The draw for players current and new would’ve been a massive advantage to us in League One. We need this takeover sorted asap, because now we need a new manager on top of a new squad.

To be honest, I did have a horrible feeling this was coming after Kirchner pulled out.

Didn't he say that in the programme with Samuelson, he wanted to retain a shareholding in the club and could do so by becoming an unnamed backer as minority shareholders don't have to be named.

The bill is open to negotiation, or at least it's one of the few moveable numbers in this whole shitshow.

One thing showing a bank account with 50 million in it. Totally different thing both putting an actual bid in especially one that uses all 50 million. So far he appears to be just playing to the crowd.
