The letter reads well to me. I’m not sure why fans are getting their knickers in a twist about them ‘not representing me’. The letter asks a number of questions that have been raised in this forum. I doubt they’ll hear anything in response though, such is the clubs complete disregard to its fans.

Wasn't that was the last meeting about, seeking answers to questions of concern.

RamsTrust are a complete joke. Their words are not my words, and they don't really say anything of value anyway.

Ego driven posturing with no real purpose.

For all this talk of fan ownership, has anyone actually even attempted to put together the means? Or do they just write strongly-worded letters like a bunch of pensioners writing in to Channel 4?

    Only when it's Countdown.

The golden share, aka membership of the EFL.

Whoever owns that, owns a professional football franchise. Worryingly, that doesn't have to have any connection with Derby.

That was my thinking, somebody could buy the name DCFC for £1 then rename the club Derby Derwent Rams

My mistake, thought I wrote that.

You're right that it's immaterial to Derby fans, however looking what other clubs are doing helps understand the financial climate.

I was talking to my mate who's a Spurs fan, was telling me it's the same there, can't be aware it is open on match days.

Other clubs are running at reduced hours, where we have chose to not open at all. There's obviously a reason for this and clearly causing problems for some fans which isn't great, but what can we do?

Help each other out navigate the online systems, which I have seen it's been great to see.

As for why, some are saying financial, yeah I can see that, but then why open the Megastore? How many customers walk through the doors during the week, wouldn't it make sense to close this and spend the staffing budget on the ticket office.

Or does the data show more ticket sales are completed online? I honestly don't know, I also don't know if that's the main reason why the reduced attendances, we are still in a pandemic which has people concerned and avoiding large crowds.

We're also coming off the back of a near miss relegation with £0 spent and EFL disputes ongoing, are fans disillusioned and refusing to return until things have been sorted and improved?

Again, I don't know, just speculating here and looking at all possible reasons, trying to understand instead of attacking the club.

And that's not "loyalty" to Mel, we don't even know who's decision this is, Stephen Pearce is the CEO, knows his way round a calculator and spreadsheet, could this be his idea?

The Megastore is operated and staffed by employees of Fanatics who are in no way related to the club, probably that's why they are open.

I have put his other tweets up that YOU choose to ignore - agenda indeed. ?

As i have posted before the only facts i believe are ones released by the club or the EFL, all the others released by so called itk journalists i take with a pinch of salt, they are no more in the know than you or I

Yes but was it two luke warm tap waters or a 100 year old bottle of Port to share?!

Mel borrowed his room key to use the bathroom and returned with 2 drinks out of the mini bar/fridge but he didn't realise until he came to check out.

He's a generous bloke, £1.2m for a robotic surgeon to Derby Hospital that helps the city, saved lives and pumped millions into the football club.

People can dissect his running of the club and they will, but honestly having talked to him on many occasions, he's a decent guy that does care.

I would receive calls just to check up how I was doing during my bad days with anxiety. Was hard to read that he was going through his own health issues.

I'll get hammered for this post but I'm gutted for the guy with how this is ending. Always will.

Won't ever feel comfortable reading people laying into him as a man, but accept that others haven't been as lucky I have to have been able to see that side of him.

@Davidi have no doubt that away from football MM is a genuine caring person whose integrity cannot be questioned, yesterday someone posted a disgusting comment about MM which quite frankly was totally uncalled for.

What is questionable is MM the businessman owner of the club and the state of the club which he has allowed to find itself in.

His original tweet said there were payments owing to Derby that were also late. It wasn't phrased as speculation at all.

Then in his later tweet he corrected himself saying he understands there were missed payments, a little back tracking there.

I understand Nixons article was nonspecific however, it doesn’t take a genius to work out that the majority of clubs outgoings have exceeded their income since the first Covid lockdown.

Nixon may have indulged in a little journalistic speculation but I imagine he’s probably not that far from the mark.

So as you say, just speculation then.

I cannot imagine any reason they could come up with, that would be worse than saying nothing.

Furlough doesn't end until 30th of this month so i imagine with the club being short of funds they are making full use of it,just my opinion of course.

  11. 2 hours ago, Elwood P Dowd said:

The explanation for EFLs stance on none payments is simple, none of the other clubs who have missed payments are called Derby County?‍♂️?‍♂️

If you see the reply from Nixon he says he understands there are missed payments, so no idea at all then really. He likes people getting in touch with him, that's what pays his wages.Just a journo who likes to make out he his somehow itk but in reality is just fanning the flames, after all when asked questions he can't reply that he knows nothing can he.

What was the point of having a supporters meeting asking attendees to elicit questions from the fan base safe in the knowledge that the information imparted during that meeting was never going to be able to be shared with the wider supporters?

Purely a box ticking exercise by the club to placate the EFL. Isn't in the rules somewhere that a club has to have 1 or 2 meetings a year with fan groups?

19/20 accounts will be combined with 20/21 and the test will be over 4 years.  I don't think they have actually breached anything yet?

Neither have their owners said they are only putting enough money into the club to keep it "ticking over"  so should have more leeway as regards transfers.

I like a good conspiracy theory, i'm still working out if men really landed on the moon ?

I wouldn't be so sure on the EFL necessarily acting reasonably about HMRC deferrals. They did put 10 clubs under embargoes earlier this year for "late filing of accounts", even though all were simply taking advantage of the government's extended period for filing accounts, an extended deadline which the EFL themselves made use of. Given that precedent, I wouldn't think it's impossible that there's an agreement in place between the club and the HMRC, but the EFL are being more stringent than the body that are actually owed money.

It may be a culmination of factors such as other outstanding debts that is giving the EFL concerns regarding the HMRC

  15. 1 hour ago, Charlotte Ram said:

HMRC will not let the debt sit there without a payment plan, that is a fact, I have also heard that a majority of clubs in the EFL are having payment plans with HMRC as are most small/medium sized companies in the UK, on VAT HMRC are giving up to 12 months payment plans on 2020 2nd quarter payments, this is a definite fact based on personal experience.

What you have heard and what is true are Two very different things. You seem to like saying what you post are the correct facts and other people who question the situation at the club have no idea what they are talking about. You are just surmising same as everyone else, unless you are close to MM and have inside information.

  16. 3 minutes ago, Charlotte Ram said:

Mel owns the ground as well as the club and although there is a mortgage on the ground Mel is responsible for paying that and it looks like he has given a personal guarantee to the lender, which is probably why a takeover is being held up.

Much the same as MM is responsible for paying outstanding transfer monies

  17. 2 minutes ago, Charlotte Ram said:

I disagree, we had no cash at all in 2003, and no functioning bank account, also the ground was sold to a very sketchy Panamanian company. the 3 amigos between them could nt afford a bag of chips.

Seems as if we can't at the minute, never mind we still have the ground,   oh wait......

It's not even a protest for him to walk away. It's more of a protest to get their act together.

I don't want Morris gone for the sake of it. I want him to act like any other owner in the Championship with a club not under embargo. I want to become a football fan again, not constantly having to worry about off-the-field issues. I want a club that has an open ticket office.

I can't see the point of worrying about the off field issues, there is bugger all we can do about it.
