Bottom line is Mel wants MSD repaid - be that £20m or £22m or even a bit more - from this administration process.
Ashley, nor any other serious businessperson imo, is going to pay large bucks for the club without taking full stadium ownership. So if Morris sells to the Council I think Ashley and others will walk away from the table (not that Ashley is overly close to the table at the minute). No matter what all the twisting and turning of this thread, the problem is Morris. He should personally settle the debts with MSD, and agree to hand ‘our stadium’ back, foc, as part of the sale. The Administrators can then actually complete their job which is to get the best recovery possible for the creditors, and to make sure who they select through the process, has the wherewithal to run the club after it comes out of administration. In short, cough up and duck off Morris.
 

Yep was about to post similar, seems bidders are only prepared to bid near enough money to save derby if the stadium is thrown in , leasing it from the council as opposed to leasing it from Morris doesn’t seem to be much different so how does it clear the impasse we are at ?

Just trying to take a realistic perspective and give a balanced opinion, that`s all.
I`ll admit to looking on the Black Side of life, picture the worst and then anything better than that is a bonus!
A bit like this Council buying the Stadium lark. I`m not sure it resolves the problem. £30m is still necessary to effect a puchase without the Stadium, and so far it seems that is too much without a Stadium. So what changes?

Whilst I can see the Council getting on board with the stadium ownership, I really can’t see it would be of any interest to a PB. I would have thought any PB interested in finessing a deal now would want the bricks and mortar in their ownership. Otherwise they are paying a large sum of money for fresh air.

I would say our man of the match has been Byrne, the guy has never stopped.. for them its the goalie .. says it all really
