Rosenior didn't take the Blackpool job because he failed to get assurances about transfer funds, not because he couldn't bear to leave Derby. Plus, he was Rooney's assistant and had never been nr.1 before. Once Clowes decided he wasn't the right guy for the job, he was always going to leave - didn't Clowes actually offer him a different role if he wanted to stay at the club?

Presumably, considering you think LR was harshly treated (I believe that's what you believe) you agree that it would be brutal to get rid of PW if he got us promoted?
I'm not saying it was right to not appoint LR but there is a subtle difference. As has been discussed in depth, LR was never appointed manager and was only ever caretaker (or whatever term the club used at the time).

I think, those who resort to insult and abuse are generally lacking in intelligence and don't have the argument to back up any criticism. So they resort to vitriol abuse.
Or they fall under the 'yeah yeah, what he said' group.

If you'd heard him talk about JJ after his injury last night, you might change your view that he's a "fake". Some times he does come across as flippant but then so did some of the greatest managers in the history of English football, and he's nowhere near as dismissive or condescending as some of them. Even opposition fans find his post-match interviews refreshing : he might temper his criticism of his own team's performance, but he never denigrates the opposition or fails to give them credit.
The sense of entitlement I get from some of our fans comes from a different planet to the one I come from - I'll never agree with it, hence I will disappear from time to time just to get away from it. Allot of the criticism and questions raised by the more thoughtful posters is absolutely fair, but so many have now put the recent past struggles behind them, almost as if it's a trauma they want to bury, that they seem incapable of measured opinions.
In summary, I never believed that Warne was the Messiah, but he's not a naughty boy either and I wish that those who will never accept him would at least tone down the abuse.

I think being 3 points off the top with a large chunk of the season to go it would be nice to get behind the team and managerial staff and see how it plays out before all the name calling begins.

I listened to the podcast he was on when he was Rotherham's manager, and I don't think it's fake at all. I thought he came across as a really genuine person. Could be wrong of course.

I get people like him for being nice but it does my head in hes too nice its like hes being fake sometimes you have to have abit aggression to be a football manager and he doesnt its why refs are crap all the time, you get someone like warnock and it changes

    No,of course he doesn't.
I'm not sure why he seems to rub some people up the wrong way but he seems to.
Perhaps it's something of a mismatch between his persona "tongue in cheek happy chappy full of jokes" and his football "work hard cross it work hard" - If he had the same team but gave off "I'm a no nonsense manager and trust in me lads" vibe perhaps fans would trust it more? Or maybe if we were a cheeky chappy team that was a bit gung ho even if they get it wrong some of the time people would buy into it.
Although for some it might just be the indignity of league 1 being compounded by the indignity of a former Rotherham manager.
    Who knows.
Win the next two games and all will be happy again.

Yet Wazza is still “Gods Gift” to management . Warne was not a great player so how could he be a good manager?

What you've said is fine haha, I was being deliberately flippant because I think a fair few people massively overreact about Warne when we lose a game.
I'm just sick of reading the 'PE Teacher' comments and similar, from people literally not even qualified to lace up his boots. I acknowledge he knows far more about football than I ever will, this self awareness seems to be severely lacking in some.

Was it really as bad as you’re making out?
If the players did not turn up as you suggested then we’d have lost, we drew away from home, it’s not the end of the world.
We had more possession (66% versus their 34%), passed more and with greater accuracy (520 at 78% versus their 278 at 64%), more shots (19 shots versus their 10)….and maybe this is where they get some credit as they had 4 on target when we only had 3, they had and missed 2 big chances when we allegedly had none (I’d argue Nelson’s header at their keeper was a big chance)….but then we also had 7 blocked shots.
From watching the game and reviewing those stats I’m very much of the opinion we did turn up, but a combination of not reaching our better levels, them defending resolutely, and a little bit of luck in how was wasteful they were means accepting an underwhelming 0-0 draw and we move on.

His play this season has on the whole been more positive then last season - where we were more McGoldrick. I’ve been impressed with him for large parts - just could have more goals from his chances - but I do like JC.

Hear! Hear! @angieram. Whatever our personal views you can’t help but be aware of just how incredibly hard PW et al work for Derby County. They are totally absorbed & dedicated to the job. They so deserve success and I really want them to get the job done.

Congratulations to Paul and his team and very well-deserved.
I always think a Management team's job is a frustrating one, because if you win it's in spite of you, when you lose it's all your fault.
Enjoy the moment, get your heads down and carry on the good work.

You can see that their recent form might be stemming from harsh criticism from fans even though they were winning up until the new year. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/67863544 This interview last week seems like Colby Bishop their main target has lost some confidence and he goes and misses a penalty today.
This is a lesson for our fans to not be too negative of our players. We might drop the odd irritating stinker i.e. Bradford and we might not sign anyone this month but were in the mix and they need all the support they can get!

I wish people wouldn’t make such sweeping comments as James Collins not good enough for a Top 2 team. The bloke has run himself into the ground this last 10 games - which funnily enough has been top two form. Would it be great if he’d scored more goals? Yes absolutely - but has he missed a barrel load of chances in that time? Not really.  In this winning run the team is averaging over 2 goals a game - hardly poor. He’s kept himself fit - and been available for each fixture - which is more than our other strikers. His contribution in our box when defending set piece is huge too - I’m sure someone could quote the stats but I’d suggest he’s up there for defensive contributions (from a forward).
I’m not saying I don’t want more competition in that number 9 slot - i would love us to have another option there because we are thread bare if Collo gets injured - but let’s give credit where credit is due.

Just my opinion, we need quality over quantity. We don't need 2 or 3 players who will sit on the bench waiting for minutes, we need a number 9 who can score goals.
If there is a budget, blow the lot on a decent striker, that will be the difference between top 2 and not.

Currently playing 2 in central midfield..Bird and Hourihane.
We also have Thompson, Fornah, Smith and Sibley...thats 6 players for 2 positions....
Even if he changes back to playing 3 in there, we have enough bodies.
What we do need is another quick winger to match Mendez Laing, as,Barkhuizen is the current choice.
Personally, i'd like to see John Jules play, although not sure if you play him up front or out wide...
Talking of up front, Waghorn and Washington are good back ups , when fit, but Collins is not good enough as our main striker.
He doesn't have the instinct or finishing quality for a top 2 team.
He does run around alot and that effort maybe still an assett for the run in, but we do need to sign a goalscorer!
How about a cheeky bid for Jonson Clarke Harris on Jan 1st..before we play the game versus 'The Posh'!
