Went down injured playing against those from down the road. I think it was Ian Bowyer who thought he was play acting and pulled him to his feet, rupturing a tendon (I think) in his knee. From which he never fully recovered and his career sadly petered out.

In my defence... if I need one... my past thoughts may well have been swayed by losing both parents before they reached 50.  I just assumed it was written in my stars!  
I'm now more of a liking to my dear departed father-in law, who left us earlier this year just shy of his 93rd.

It’s still very early days yet, and the table can change drastically in just a few games at this stage in the season. But you have to say it’s been an excellent start from us on our return to the Championship.
I’m not his biggest fan as everyone knows, but hats off to Warne and everyone else involved behind the scenes - we look far more competitive at this stage than most of us thought. 9 points after 5 games ain’t far off promotion form, yet alone avoiding relegation! I don’t think for a second we’ll quite keep that up, but such a strong start really puts us in good stead for the rest of the season.
Wouldn’t say we’ve had the most difficult start having avoided the really big hitting parachute clubs so far, but equally we’ve not faced many teams who are total crap yet so it could’ve been easier too. We’ve done a very good job so far given our resources compared to the rest of the league.
Id still argue we’ve got one of the bottom three squads in the league, so to be so high up at this stage is a testament to the coaching staff for getting the best out of what they have, and outacting their opposing numbers. Our home form in particularly has been spectacular - get the away form going a bit and we’ll be laughing! Have to be careful not to get heads of ourselves though, we still need a lot more points before we can think of anything other than securing safety. Let’s get to that 50 point mark ASAP.
Keep it up everyone, enjoying this season far more than I feared I would do after the Blackburn game.

At his court case, his solicitor remarked "my client realises he should not have kept going back into the ground, m'lud, but he felt hard done by".

Potentially disastrous for the PL whether they're found guilty or not - guilty and there could be a flurry of claims from other clubs stating that they've missed out on vast riches due to City cheating over many years - innocent and a flurry of claims from clubs who've been found guilty of breaching the rules and lost out; or from other clubs that want damages for missing out on vast riches after following the 'rules' that clearly weren't enforcable...

Rui Pinto /"John" started  this rolling with some industrial hacking, and despite smear tactics akimbo. he maintains that there is still more to come once the case is going.
PL (immovable object) vs Arab wealth (irresistable force) should make for interesting reading this next few weeks/months

Just a small humble club that didn’t know the rules 
 

My favourite manager since Jim Smith - I was gutted when he left. Built a fantastic side on peanuts whilst having to contend with terrible owners - did a remarkable job considering where he found us after Gregory & the football was brilliant to watch too.
