This discussion should likely be moved to the admin thread.
However- I may be very wrong on my thinking here. but it was my understanding that the amount paid (25p/pound). Was the agreed amount by creditors as well as EFL/etc. Meaning that if someone (Now Clowes) agrees to pay the 25p up front, the rest of the debt will be wiped.
Surely that’s the whole purpose of having an administration process.

So, if My thinking is correct on this- yes, the debts will now be all cleared after the creditors/etc agreed to be paid 25p/pound, as opposed to being paid zero pounds for watching the team go bankrupt.

Is this not correct? Or are you lot just arguing semantics? ?

Haven’t felt this optimistic about this football club in ages. It’s so nice.
I really like the idea of combining some promising youngsters, both from our academy and others, with experienced pros with something to prove (and on short contracts!).
McGoldrick and Collins combining with Stratton and Cybulski. Fantastic.
Hourihane playing in midfield with Knight or Sibley running off him and Bird sitting deeper. Fantastic.
Cashin and possibly Roberts combined with the experience of Chester and Davies. Fantastic.
Very excited to see who else arrived and how this squad takes shape, but the current trajectory has me feeling (maybe for the first time in years) that there is some thought-out planning going on in terms of recruitment and we might have a chance of having, for the first time since Clough, a balanced squad.

I am here for all the Davis/Stearman love. But a wee bit of caution (realistic expectation) should be exercised.

Davis will be 37, and Stearman 35 during this next season. At some point legs/backs/etc simply give out.

As much as a warrior Davis has proven to be, he surely can’t be expected to suit up for the full dance card this year.

My guess is Derby will likely add more Center half’s than many would like to see…prompting some to think a three at the back. When it’s more likely a hedge for the likelihood more then one or two of our older lads will be needing more breaks.

It's a good question. The rhythm of L1 is different to the championship. Although there's the same number of league games, you don't get international breaks in L1.
That means no weeks off. But conversely should be fewer weeks where we have to play sat Tues sat....
I don't know whether that's better or worse for older players ?

I hear you. I’m not saying I like the idea of overloading at the position. Am just wondering if Derby have a choice?‍♂️

You (Derby) would surely like to feel confident in the health of their players.
But realistically you can’t expect Davis and Stearman (they haven’t yet officially signed either) to finish the season with 40 plus starts.

So if those two are signed, you really need to have another two as cover (at least). And that’s just if the plan is a standard 4 at the back with the two center halves being fairly stationary. If they plan to play a more mobile system…they will need even more.

The thing is, I don't see any of the centre halves we have/are linked to being able to do anything other than play centre half (albeit I know very little about Roberts).  5 centre halves is just overkill when we're restricted on wage spending and squad size.  We're much better off having 3 or 4 proper centre halves and then a couple of players like Fozzy than can play there in an emergency.
I'm not even sure I'd want the likes of Cashin/Davies/Stearman/Chester playing regularly in the wide centre-half positions in a back 3 - you really need to be quite mobile to do that job properly.

The restrictions will be good for us, we can't overpay, clubs know we can't overpay. We have start actually scouting players and not bang in silly bids for players who have had half a decent season.
I'd be happy with a couple of seasons of just building a team from scratch, sensible buys, making a profit year on year.

Took a bit of time out to gather myself, have a bath, listen back to Radio Derby and get a glass of my special occasion drink (White Peak Distillery cask rum, summit local). I hope everyone is having whatever it is they want to drink.
Can’t really add anything that hasn’t already been said. All my thanks for everyone’s efforts last season. From Rooney and Rosenior, the players and staff who kept the club going in the darkest days. You can all hold your head high for what you did.
The fans who did everything they could, from filling the stadium to organising marches etc etc. Also the supporters groups who tried to get answers.
The journalists who kept us informed as much as they could, this was a mess from start to finish and was impossible to report accurately on. Many lessons will be learnt but we should appreciate all their efforts from Nixon, Percy, @The Baron,Simon Stone and everyone else I’m forgetting about. Colin Murray, Dan Roan and the national journalists who gave #savederbycounty national coverage.
Special mention to Ed Dawes and Radio Derby, who has lived this far longer than any of us realise because Morris was in his ear with his mess 2-3 years ago. He didn’t get it right all the time, I’m sure he can admit that, but he stood up when it mattered and deserves a pat on the back from Derby fans. Also let’s not forget Chris Coles who after so much crap Derby related news deserves his little moment tonight too!
Team Derby! Forkin, the council and the MPs who helped keep this in the spotlight and did a lot of background work. They have helped create a huge positive day for the city.
Thanks to @David, @Boycieand all the moderators on the forum for all their work and giving us the platform. Special mention to @Animal is a Ram for giving us ‘up to the second’ updates (and all those who sought to beat him, yes you @RoyMac5). Thanks everyone for the laughs in here, at some of the most frustrating times they were some genuinely funny days in here that made everything a bit easier.
Finally, thankyou Mr Clowes. I hope despite inital reluctance this ends up being the best decision you ever make. I hope as fans we respect your privacy, but only after hearing your name being rang out by a sell out crowd on July 30th.
I’ve probably forgotten someone, despite going on worst than one of those popmaster contestants who won’t shut up and go away, but I’m tired and wanna finish my drink and read transfer rumours like a normal football fan, so apologies to anyone who is forgetten.
Have a great night everyone, it’s much deserved

Are you sure a date has actually been announced for expiry of the PB status? All I can see is that a completion date has been TARGETED for 29th June. A target date, like an expectation, is not a deadline by which it must be completed or the deal is off:
"The joint administrators are delighted to confirm that they have formally accepted Clowes' offer to acquire Derby County Football Club ("the club") out of administration. Clowes has been granted preferred bidder status with immediate effect. "The joint administrators will now enter into a period of exclusivity with Clowes, with a completion of the acquisition of the business and the assets of the club targeted for June 29.

You are 100% entitled to your opinion on the matter.

I was just pointing out that you didn’t offer any reasoning as to why MA would have been the best path forward.

And for me, it seems since MA didn’t buy the club- he does not share the confidence in his abilities that you do.

Not sure if I’m taking this out of context, but, are you really stating that the ‘clear’ path forward to the prem (we are now a third tier team). Were  resting on the haunches of Mike Ashley…and Mike Ashley alone?

That seems a wee bit fatalistic to me. MA is not some rubber stamp of success. I mean, even Mike Ashley does not believe that…or else he would have bought the club!

Derby are about to find firm footing and be allowed to grow (organically) as a club, and not forced to try and compete for a promotion.

These are finally (in my opinion) some exciting times to give this club the chance to breath and just start playing football again. Without expectation.
I am very excited to see what some of these youths have about them!
