Just don’t get going 1-0 up against a team without a win for so long and then not going for the kill, s****

I'm disappointed he's still our manager, yes. But it's clear he's not going anywhere. He'll not be here forever. For now the best thing I can think of doing is supporting the team, and trying not to let Warne tarnish my love for this club.

Awful performance, awful football and an awful manager. Fuming after that.

Utter garbage. Team not won for 22 games come to team chasing auto promotion and win. Bye bye autos. We are simply not good enough. We've clung on to 2nd place, but in truth, we simply aren't good enough nor worthy. Playoffs at best.

And I’m not disputing that. Just pointing out to the other poster he’s essentially p!ss!ng in the wind trying to change the minds of those who are opposed to Warne.

The only way it’s gonna change now is if those who feel so strongly opposed to Warne stage some sort of protest, but they won’t, so there has to be an element of accepting that he’s the manager.
By all means we can discuss his performance but for anyone thinking he’s going anywhere in the short term I suspect you’ll be disappointed.

He'll say his usual on to the next one with some random joke/pun... NO show a bit of seriousness, this isn't going right show some god damn determination.
Seems like a nice bloke you'd have a pint with and a bit of banter in the pub but not managing your club.
I liked him and was prepared to give him a transfer window but this isn't working and if we're honest it's never worked under him. The squad we have should be up there regardless of who is managing us.

We score one goal now, and he goes defensive, trying to hang on, ridiculous. With these players we should be out of sight..

Why do people come on and share their opinions on a website created for Derby fans to discuss and share their opinions? I'm not sure mate

How many times can we hit self-destruct?  It's the play-offs at best and we all know what that means ...

I see a drop in season tickets next season if we stay down. I love that we are second but down to players and a poor league but not once have I been to a home game and enjoyed the game.

The issue I have is that 4 or 5 times we have had a chance to make progress in the league and only taken that chance once, now we need to give a good performance. FGS Charlton are near the relegation zone, we make them look good.

Watching this team is horrible. We are never in control of anything and disappointment is only ever a Paul Warne tactical switch away.

RedSox reacted to LeedsCityRam in Dwight Gayle - Signed until the end of the season
So relieved we've got Gayle signed up - Saturday was all the evidence needed to prove this side will struggle without a conventional forward option. Irrespective of lack of match sharpness, he has to start at Barnsley to stretch the pitch or we're going to struggle to get out of our half - if he can give us 60 mins, they will likely have tired enough by then for us to be able to escape the press.
Am not particularly concerned about his spell at Stoke - that club is a graveyard for decent managers & players and given the sheer squad size they have, must be difficult to get consistency in selection & therefore performance. Looking at the highlights reel from last few months he still has plenty of attributes that I believe will make him a success here - quick feet, great decision making, vision/awareness of other players in the final 3rd and a decent finish. Being a stocky type with a low centre of gravity, I'd also like to think he could hold the ball up reasonably well & am looking forward to seeing how he links up with Mendez-Laing & Barkhuizen. Warne will no doubt want him pressing like Collins but that might be a couple of games down the track once he is up to match fitness.

Glad we have a proper striker to play the role. Glad he’s happy to come to Derby.
Collin’s was leading the line well for us and gave us 13 goals and 1 assist directly in his 32 league games.
Just under one every other game.

His overall contribution and closing down I’m sure has given us more but that’s not as measurable.

As others have said, if we get anything close to 5/6 goals or assist from DG he would have played his part and we wouldn’t have lost anything from that forward position in terms of goals.

What we also hope is that his guile and brain can contribute as much as Colin’s work rate and bustle did for the rest of the team.

    Welcome to Derby DG.

Out of those 3 Gayle has not only played at a higher level but is also more of a natural goal scorer ….could be a real coup this

RedSox reacted to Srg in Derby v Stevenage FC - Match Day Thread
Stevenage tried to turn it into many 5 a side games. They crowded the ball quickly with multiple players and kept it boxed in and frantic. You can see how that works for them, especially when they're a short team with no real players above 6ft. Unfortunately for us, that meant the space first half was at full back, and neither Nyambe or Elder are adept with the ball at their feet to use that space.
We looked a little lost at times with what we were trying to do, in particular, Kane Wilson was struggling. He tried hard, just didn't really look like he had a clue what he was doing. The press was so frenetic it saw both teams seeing shadows at times and just ended up with getting rid of the ball thinking a challenge was coming, even if there was actually some time.
It took Korey Smith to come on, which enabled us to get a better player on the ball in Kane Wilson going into the space at full back and Korey himself having the experience to realise when there was actually time to use for us to really get going in any sense of the word.
Tough, attritional game which I think we did enough to win. I don't think Collins would have changed things first half, to be honest. I'm glad Hourihane didn't play, as I think he would've collapsed under that quick press in the first half. I think it played out how most thought, we were never going to stroll out and beat these, and it was nice to match them physically.

Disclaimer - this is not an attack on you as a poster, it is a reply to the questions posed, though I’m not sure if they’re meant rhetorically.
I’d guess that Clowes will know what Pearce is doing now, and what he has been doing since Clowes took the club over.

He’ll also have had visibility of the information gathered and provided by the administrators to further inform his decisions on taking the club over.

Clowes is in a more informed position than pretty much most other Derby fans to determine whether Pearce should still be in the job, though he may of course be missing some info due to the NDAs as implied by the questions posed.
