Once Mel knew he needed more capital for Derby than he was prepared to commit, why didn't he seek out a new owner instead of running his play thing into the ground with huge debt.
Why did he bother staying on as owner.

Promotion next season? Let’s not be arrogant.
I think we have to give League One the respect it deserves and adjust our expectations accordingly.
How many clubs have gone down expecting a quick return and felt the full force of reality?
Sunderland, that’s one. Forest, that’s two. Leeds, that’s three. There are several more, which should serve as a warning that we’ll have to remain grounded.
Clubs have gone down with more stability and clarity than ours and struggled, so why do we think we’ll be a special case?
Yes, we have players who are capable of playing above League 1 level. But will they stay? Will they be motivated? Will they perform under greater pressure and scrutiny? I don’t think it’s so straightforward.
Truth is we’ll have an inexperienced owner, an inexperienced manager and coaching staff, a largely inexperienced group of players, and given that it is 36 years since we were last in the third tier, an inexperienced fanbase too.
We’ll be one of the big fish, but what comes with that is we’ll also be the one everyone wants to fry.
As fantastic as it would be to get promoted at the first attempt, I don’t think that’s realistic and the desperation to achieve that could lead to us overextending ourselves yet again.
Personally I would be looking at putting some proper groundwork down and taking the first year in League 1 as a year to reset. We need to put down the right foundations and get the right people in place, so we can move forward as a club in a positive and sustainable manner.

The players hes brought in are definately not Rooney's first choice, they were the players he was forced to bring in given the restrictions.
Who says he will not have money, i mean why buy derby for a vast amount of money and then spend nothing on new players for a team that could lose at least 50% of its players in the summer, rooney has stated he wants at least 40 new players in the summer.
Of course that probably does mean we will get a lot of rejects to join the club again, but hopefully in the key and necessary positions derby will be signing some players on a budget.

Without the 21 points deduction, we would be in 17th position, which isn't too bad for team full of grandads and babies, and who haven't been able to operate in the transfer market for 2 years +, apart from having key players ripped out of our squad.
Perversely, if Forest had 21 points deducted, they would be in 20th place!!!

Thank you, this is exactly what i wanted to know.
Now i think its better to find a buyer for the stadium, someone who can tackle such debt.
However, I am concerned for DCFC as obviously that rental is a loss and 5 million even if its ball park does indicate the amount of money lost to derby.
The new owner isnt going to be buying the club, but I am left wondering if the new owner doesnt choose to lower costs by ground sharing with another local club ie notts county, burton albion or chestfield.
Of course derby fans wouldn't want that but is it cheaper for the new owner.
I see a loss of income the longer the club stays in league one, and so the target has to be promotion from league one at the earliest possibility.
That on top of requiring an almost entire team rebuild.
Derby lack a player capable of scoring 20 goals a season in league one.
Yet if you look the league one top goal scorers table, the majority of the top teams in league one have a top goal scorer.
Derby cant rely on free agents/loans etc as these players dont want to play in league one.
The teams with the highest team spend are the ones at the top of league one, as is the case with most leagues.

Does the council have the budget.
Many councils are financially struggling plus does that mean a temporary reduction in services for disadvantaged groups until the income comes in from the stadium.
Would the council need to take the risk of a very large loan.
It might be better to find a someone willing to risk acquiring the ground.

If it were MA instead of CK, we would know for sure it's a billionaire and we know where most if ma money comes from or at least the amount mentioned in the press.
We also know that ma is vastly experienced in football club ownership.
I guess a factor behind ck is the money, is it his or does it come from venture capital or anonymous backers.
If its from anonymous backers, are any of those from a dubious source.
Mind you I'm not overly concerned about the dubious source as current rules on money laundering and financial regulations should prevent that.

Quantuma's job is to get the best deal for the creditors (and probably Quantuma themselves) not DCFC. The EFL have stated that they want to see the best deal for The Club, the fans and the community.
These positions conflict so we may yet not have a ratified deal once the EFL look at it.

One concern I have about kirchner is could he do an MM.
In my opinion, Mm didn't have a footballing brain, he did seem to have the right footballing advisors around him.
Kirchner would need someone very knowledgeable about football to help advise him on footballing decisions at the football club management level.
Then he needs a seriously gifted scouting team, because somehow he's got to rebuild a team that wasn't good enough to compete in the Championship and now its down to circa 4 or 5 players in the summer and most of those you would want to consider whether to move on as they probably weren't the star performers.
There's literally no area of the team that doesn't need a rebuild if the game plan is to escape league one in a season.
Escape league one because there's no decent financial return in League one.
To escape derby have to beat the best teams in League one, a quality team must be built to do that.
You cant build a quality team at Derby with the sorts of players that Derby were forced to sign this season.
If we need 11 new players of quality thats a big challenge to get thar done in the summer.
You can't sign the best free agents as those players don't want a league one team.
If there's a 15 point deduction from the efl, that's a greater need for a quality team.

I will gladly accept your logic here, but hope that's not all amounting to a final epitaph.
If a football regulator with enough powers existed, would it have stopped MM going doing this path.
Would things have been allowed to get so bad with the hmrc.
Would MB/W have been allowed to attack a club that through its financial situation could offer little defence.

Largely irrelevant, because of the actions of MM on this the clubs now valued beyond what any league one club is worth and probably what most championship clubs are worth.
How is derby with as little as it currently has to offer, valued at 60 to 70 million.
No wonder the club cant find a buyer.

Your arguments flawed here, seriously giving to some rich guys the stadium, hardly giving at 20 million.
Plus mm is responsible at least to a major degree for the huge debt and the mess with the efl.
The mess with mb/w is also on him.
We owe hmrc 30 million largely because of him.
We owe arsenal fc 8 million largely on him, because of mm poor decision to bring in a player of that value.
We owe msd 30 million, largely on him.
Having placed the club into this much debt, and them what, he's right to blame buyers for leaving the club in administration and being responsible at least in part for the 21 points dished out by the efl.
Creating that much debt, creating an atmosphere of fear over will the club continue to exist.
Now it's OK for mm to get some money for the stadium.
Does the money for the stadium at least involve the repayment of the msd loan? No, it doesn't.
And for that matter who is mm other than a rich guy who played us for fools and bankrupted the club he says he loves.
