Exactly. However badly Mel Morris spent his money he knew what his budget was. Until COVID blew his  budgeting plans out of the water.

Yes I mentioned 10 players on top wages from 2017/18 yet somehow forgot Weimann who of course was also signed from a Premier team so also on silly wages. Like I say some of those were on £2m pa to get to an average for the entire squad of over  £1million, but  there is no way a squad of 23 now could be on £23 million wages.. which incidnetally is already less than half what we were paying at the height of the silliness.

We will not get out of embargo anytime soon. But a hard embargo means we cannot renew contracts except on reduced wages. So players will leave for nothing. .. as happened with waggy and Marriott.

Come January we need to be out of that , or else we will be forced to sell players to avoid them leaving fur nothing.

The amortisation deduction could be some way off yet. Hopefully the administration deduction will be removed before then.

Why should we be asked to show EFL anything at this stage? The adminstrators have said that if a buyer cannot  be found before January there will be a fire sale. So we know that money can be raised and the wage bill reduced if it absolutely needs to be.
Has Pauline Latham (or any other Derbyshire MP) had their meeting with the EFL? They need to be called out and pronto they are out of control.

The good thing about our defence is that we can make changes and still keep clean sheets.
We changed 3 of the back 4 today & looked solid, changed it a few times vs Swansea & looked solid too, also changed GK without any disruption.
Start scoring some goals & continue with our strong defence we will soon rise up the table.

Exactly . If I was a judge and Efl tried to claim COVID wasn’t a force majeure I would dismiss the point in two minutes flat and award all costs to Derby.

The fact that Ridsdale was elected to the EFL Board says all you need to know about the EFL - it's like putting Ronnie Biggs in charge of a Mail Train.

We don't entirely know the motivations there - I'm not defending him but it's been suggested before that if Morris had come out publicly and claimed full responsibility then the administrators may not now be able to appeal against administration ?‍♂️

Yes, and before everyone piles in with yet more libellous comments or personal insults, it might be worth remembering that a successful outcome to the current situation is at least partly dependent on our former owner's continued cooperation.

I think this is EFL trying their play to say we would still have gone bust even without COVID, the stadiums are open again and stil we cannot pay the wages?

But our revenue still hasn't returned to pre COVID levels of £30 million.
If it did we would be well above the wage levels being paid.

Plus I dont see how you get a wage bill of £13.5 million over seven months when half the squad is on about £500k pa each.  I doubt we have more than about 2 or 3 players on above £1 million pa.

Isn't the whole point of being in administration a sure and factual sign that said company doesn't have enough money to continue (for very long), and doesn't have  anyone available to make up the shortfall without additional funding/buy out?
Isn't our entire survival down to being bought out?
Why would they expect DCFC to have "enough funds" at this stage.  How TF does that work?  Surely if we did, there'd be no need for administration?
Final question... or am I just being thick?  ?‍♂️

Yes. In many ways the insurance thing is the opposite. That  Force Majeure exclusion is to protect insurance companies from a wave of claims that could make them insolvent. It is a specific clause written by insurers to protect the insurers themselves. Whether it is being applied fairly is of course a different matter.
The Force Majeure clause in the EFL Rules is to protect the clubs from suffering further penalties in the event of an insolvency event caused by a Force Majeure event not of their making . It is very specifically written and there is no doubt that as it is written in the EFL rules, COVID is a force majeuere event. Whether it caused Derby's insolvency event is another matter to be decided at the tribunal.

There only seven months til end of season... so works out (if true)  at just shy of £24 million  Two million a month would seem very toppy to me.. given we have six players capped at £4,500 per month and only a squad of 23 players, including Ebosele, Watson, Stretton  and Williams who won't be on much either. It's not as if most of the others are superstars either apart from Mr Rooney himself of course and his wages are paid by 32red.

Went on opening night and I found this was a very good play, which could only be put on in Derby.
Plenty of nostalgia and at times very poignant, especially the parts when they were remembering the men & women who were killed in the war, and the returning soldiers who couldn't forget the horrors.
Lots of memories and songs, and sound-bites from people who have come to Derby over the last 75 years and the friendliness of the town/city. I know from personal experience, because my wife, who is from Suffolk and always tells her sisters, who live in Sussex, how she quickly settled here in Derbyshire.
As the play unfolded, it gave a sense of belonging, and no matter what has happened, Derby County Football Club holds something in everyone's hearts, even to those who don't go to the matches, as you can always have a conversation with anyone about their fortunes, team, managers and controversies.
The poem, "We are Derby', describing our town/city brings goose-bumps, because it is more than just a football club, it's who we are.

The phrase "could not reasonably be expected to have control and its Officials had used all due
diligence to avoid the happening of that event"
refers to the Force Majeure Event, ie covid / lockdown. There is no argument worth having to say that Derby could have used due diligence to avoid either of those related  events happening.
There is another event defined in the EFL Rules .. the insolvency event . And Derby's case is that one event The force Majeure Event caused the other Event , the insolvency event.
None of what you say can possibly refute the fact that covid and lockdown are  jointly and separately Force Majeure Events within the definition of the EFL Rules.  What i think you are saying is that Derby should have used due diligence to avoid an insolvency event, notwithstanding the COVID event happening.

The COVID defence will be addressed within a month I think . It is  very important issue and even if we lose it is right i think to make the point that COVID has had a particularly devastating effect on the club's finances and that our current troubles are by no means all self inflicted.
