Spot on. When I was growing up wanting to be a footballer for Derby, I loved watching Iñigo Idiakez. The first footballer who I watched live at Pride Park every week where I was in awe at how technically brilliant he was. I wanted to smash in 25-30 yard free kicks on a Sunday.

95% of supporters had never heard of him and he was one of my Derby heroes.

He did have 10 years in La Liga for Real Sociedad though, so you'd assume know him or not there is a deal of ability.  I'd like some players like Raziak, Bisgarrd and Wanchope.  I know enough about this fella to see he's an upgrade on Washington but  he's still here.  We must get a 15 goal striker with pace to add something to our frontline.  That doesn't have to cost more than a loan fee.  Premier league squads are busting at the seams.

So given it’s likely, we’re more likely going to get 500k per year. So unless we negotiate on transfers using future revenue, it’s not really as good as it sounds.

Have they got any decent youngsters who can create or score goals.  Take one or two for the season in lieu of a loan fee. or take a negotiated full fee of 2 mill to sign a player who can get some.  There's options

Adams doesn't really have the sort of personality that suggests it'll be a problem for Cardiff if he doesn't get a move, he's not going to down tools, miss training etc he'll just knuckle down and try to prove his worth to them. I wouldn't factor that into their decision-making at all tbh.

If we don't get Adams maybe we can actually try to get something out of the player we originally bought to play his role (Fornah) rather than writing him off.

I think we need to get Fornah a move ASAP.  He has no ability to retain a ball under pressure and we'll be getting plenty of that.

Worst situation for a player wanting to move but club holding out for more. Hopefully something gets agreed. Can deffo see us going in for the Celtic lad if this doesn't happen though, maybe as well as if it does.

I do think in that situation that sometimes the player has too help their own cause a bit.  Could he wave a signing on fee to get it done.  Depends how keen he is.   If he's not here, I suspect a League 1 side with promotion hopes would take him on loan for the season with a contract offer at the end.

Why don't these kids learn? Sign for the elite clubs, who don't care about you or your progress and then spit you out when you haven't turned into a wonder kid. Him and Malcom have both wasted 2 years. They could have had 2 full seasons under their belt and actually improved.

He did have the chance at Hull but mustn't have impressed.  Thought it was a rather silly move on his part after getting an appreciative support and first team games after being a foot ball nomad.  Could say that about Allsopp as well who clearly impressed at Hull just as much via Cardiff who must also have been impressed.

Have we been paid for Malcolm by our best friends in football by the way, or are they still thinking about another offer 2 years after their superb 30 k opening gambit.

If he'd stayed at Derby he'd have been a regular last season.

Classy young player, wonder how much this has stalled his development?

When he left Rooney said in an interview that he'd told him he couldn't turn down the opportunity, so it probably gave him the relevant nudge as this indicates he was in two minds.  Not the best advice probably if you already have first team football at a decent level on tap.

Ryan is a free agent. Iversen still has a year left on his Foxes deal, just had a significant pay rise due to them gaining promotion to the EPL and would cost a fair bit in either a loan or a transfer fee as well as wanting top dollar...

I suspect if he's No 1 here it's a pull.  They'd take a loan fee of say 400k, with a guarantee he gets a 2 year deal in the summer- probably with a relegation get out that suits both parties.  They'd use that 400k loan to effectively cover an element of his wages. I don't think he can really demand top dollar going forward as he hasn't been playing other than a Stoke loan and if they wanted him, they could have signed him.

If we have a sell on clause, say 20%, and a player is sold for £10m, but it’s payable by the buying club with five instalments of £2m per year, does the club who receives the 20% sell on get their money immediately or 20% of each instalment?

It would be as they recieve it per normal transactions.  Believe that we did the part fee/part payment over years as  arrangement for half of the Lowe/Bogle fee to get the price we wanted for Bogle.  Lowe was never worth 4.5 million but it helped them and us with a higher masked fee and allowed them to defer some of Bogles valuation. It also reduced Swindon's payout of course. They then decided as Lowe was on loan at Forest they wouldn't bother paying as they were skint.  Hence a pointless transfer embargo for them after the window shut about two years later when the turned down an offer from Spurs for Berge, alongside other payments not kept up with. Villa could in theory renegotiate for a lump sum on Kellyman of say 1.8- 2 million quid upfront which is likely if installment payments are being made by Chelsea.

"England expects every man to do his duty"

The above in bold has been like this for almost 60 years, 1970, England 2 West Germany 3 after being 2-0 up Alf Ramsey took off our talisman Bobby Charlton, We had Peter Osgood (the Cat) in goal who wasn't at his best as Gordon Banks was ill...some say nobbled 😬

Since that day we have failed, We've had the players unfortunately we've failed in the Manager department. Managers since Alf Ramsey

    Joe Mercer...Uncle Joe

    Don Revie...Bailed to Saudi

Ron Greenwood...Mr nice guy...instead of a certain Brian Clough

Bobby Robson...Tried and tried like the spider but never got there

Graham Taylor...Do I not like orange

Terry Venables...Xmas tree brought a new dimension to our game

Glenn Hoddle...The bible brought him down

    Howard Wilkinson...😂 good god

Kevin Keegan...Found international football to complicated

Peter Taylor...Managed the 1 game...what could have been aye 😁

Sven-Göran Eriksson...loved the weather girl and smooched with the Beckhams...star struck

Steve McClaren...That rainy day at Wembley killed him

Fabio Capello...Struggled with the English media

Stuart Pearce...If he'd have scored that penalty he'd be our manager still 😁

Roy Hodgson...Only lost 8 games in the 4 years, Very steady...🤷‍♂️

Sam Allardyce...Never go out for a meal with someone you don't know 😉

    Gareth Southgate...giphy.gif only lost 15 from 93...but i've never taken to him...sugar n spice 😬

30 years of hurt. Adding nearly another 30 means as much time has gone since and it seems like 5 minutes.  Knock off 30 years the other way and The Beatles were in the charts and it was 3 years till moon landing.    More depressing than a Graham Taylor touchline rant and more concerning than a draw with Denmark.  Times pushing, really should get off me arse and do something new. 😂

To be honest I don't take any notice of ITK  postings on here or anywhere else, they are usually b******* anyway. I only believe it when the club says it's so. I used to hear about all incomings years ago when my old man was big mates with the groundsman at Raynesway. However that was long ago and far away so I don't believe anything these days unless I get it first hand.

That's fine.  I'm not ITK on everything that happens, no we are interested ins, just on when concrete offers have been made or things fall through.  Loans of youngsters for instance is very much the home clubs decision rather than show you round and make your mind up, so accurate information on those is literally on the day or a very short period before.  We made offers to two players who've gone elsewhere though. That's a worry.  Vaulks would have been a very decent signing for our means.

Funny, I've not seen any comment from the club that we have made an offer for anyone. All that's been on here is speculation.

Everything I put on this thread is accurate.  This was the case a couple of weeks ago.  I've never seen any comment from Derby on players they've made offers on for years, not even a fee which is always undisclosed.  It all comes out through media as likely a week or so before if anything.  You'll be wholly disappointed if your waiting for the club to comment on offers before they've signed anyone.

Who was the other one & was an offer confirmed?

Not fussed about Murphy not signing. Had a great end to the season but much rather sign likes of Dembele.

Vaulks.  We offered him a deal.  Kayden Jackson, Iversen and Osborn are the others I know for sure.

  13. 2nd one we've made an offer to that's gone elsewhere if that's the case.  I think we can get better.  We probably won't however, as despite stripping out the midfield and getting a brucie bonus on cash for promotion we must be offering magic beans.  If we need to sell Cashin to actually bring in some players of the relevant level let's do it and tell Sibley and Collins to s*** or get off the pot to free up some more wages.  We need players not more fecking back room staff.  Especially those whose game is cricket.

  14. Man Utd fans suggesting they should be looking to cash in on 3 promising youngsters Wheatley, Amass and Scanlon for the same type of fee.  They seem to think they are their best 3 youngsters who could generate this kind of loot. Scanlon was here wasn't he.

  15. Within this using young players as pawns, you need to consider they have contracts.  No one can make them go.  At no stage would Villa sell Kellyman to Chelsea against his wishes or say we're letting you go on a free as you can't cut it. From what i'm gathering You could be totally abject under this system and be well on your way to a League 1/2 career.  All of a sudden you get offered a 2 million sign on fee to go to Chelsea.  Far from being pawns if you 18 and a footballer, you can now make millions off a few years picking splinters out your arse if you get into an academy and get that first professional contract.  They'll be loving it.

How the effin' eff did Tinpot Chesterfield become 18 years older than The Mighty World Famous Rams?

Apart from that single shot at glory at Old Trafford, which they ended up throwing away against Curlyperm Rovers, they've achieved the square root of eff all, and all in 158 years of "historic nothingness"!

    I call shenanigans!  🤷‍♂️

Remember that game.  They should have gone through with a disallowed Dyche header.  I mostly remember that we threw it away in massive fashion  against the curly perm in the quarters.  Best chance we've had of an FA cup final with a proper chance to win in my time.
