Give Curtis the contract he wants , give him the captaincy, give him a coaching role , give him media work , ffs give him the keys to the city , just get him signed up , the guys a legend

Curtis is a smart bloke, he must surely know roughly what sort of budget we have available.
Assuming his demands aren't too outlandish, pay him what he wants.  The guy is a leader and inspiration to the younger players in the squad and will imho add value to Cashin etc both in terms of ability and professionalism.  If he wants to get into coaching after he hangs up his boots, we could do a lot worse than give him an opportunity.

The Ronaldo comment was just flippant. I was just making the point that age doesn't necessarily mean a low wage.
And let's be honest Curtis isn't asking for close to half a mil a week is he. I just guess that he's asking for the max we are permitted. I would give him that based upon last year's performance. He would also br captain for me 100%

I cant understand it either. He's done a few daft things but he's a cracking player capable to truly special moments. Best season he's had for us last season and people still slate him and want him gone. Mad.

His special skill is winning free kicks. He beats Chris Martin at that

Tricky one for me. I've never quite seen what others seem to see. Yes I know all about the 'engine', but other than that? He doesn't really control midfield, doesn't really play killer passes, doesn't score big numbers, doesn't make too many killer runs. He's good at everything but not particularly brilliant at anything. I'm not sure he's improving much (or likely to) either. 
I felt a bit like this with Hendrick - another very good young player who I wasn't that fussed about losing and whose post-Derby career went pretty much as I expected. Continued to do lots of things well and nothing brilliantly, became a squad player at lower Premier League level. 
Obviously at League One level Knight would be a huge asset and I don't particularly want to lose him. But in our current circumstances he definitely has a price. He's not irreplaceable. 

His next move will be a stepping stone to a big move I reckon.
He hasn't had the chance to shine these last couple of years due to us playing at the wrong end of the table, a couple of years for Burnley fighting for promotion and he will no doubt get a big move.
A big sell on clause is a must.

Knight not only a full international, a key player for an international side made up from Premier league and championship players so yeah I would expect way more than 5M or we have been robbed yet again!
