  1. I really found it a very strange decision to make.

I thought that the officials had to have seen the infringement.

Looking at the footage I would say at best they would have had a partial view at best.  More likely is that they have not seen the the unraveling of the incident meaning they were heavily swayed by the PV appeals. Effectively should it goe to appeal the officials are unlikely to admit that they made a decision without having full line of sight.

Neither did... well any of the top goalscorers in League One until they dropped down there. Long has spent the last 12 years or so in the Premier League. Last season's top goalscorer in League One had 8 in 75 Championship games before that.

Long would score goals in League One for sure, but he's got a bit of dog of him, I like him.

    .. yep, agreed.

Would definitely score in LG1… Experienced Prem and International player. Very wiley, chaser of lost causes and gets behinds defenders who previously had a 1 in 3 goals per games in Championship in his heyday..

  3. I agree re Bryson, but I’m actually struggling to see how good our midfield actually is.

It’s widely claimed and conceded that Bielek will leave as will Rava.

So that leaves us with Bird and Tommo..and Max could find suitors from Championship level clubs.

Hourihane is far from nailed on at the moment and is allegedly being courted by Championship clubs.

So I’m actually struggling to see the quality, potential and depth of our midfield that can withstand the rigours of a demanding and physical L1 campaign at the moment.

I have faith it will come together in the end though.

  4. Yep, hope we can retain him and Rosie utilities him correctly.

It’s bizarre that most people eulogise about Bryson but some fail to see that Knight is from the same mould…

Great engine, incredible tenacity and an eye for goal.. if deployed correctly you could build your team around him Cashin, Bird and Sibley in the spine of the team..

  5. So whilst Q have stated that they will now talk to bidders and indeed progress these discussions,  does the fact remain that if CKs funds come through it is his club, after all, he is the only one who has signed contracts…. currently.

Just when we thought it couldn’t possibly get any more complicated..

  6. The thing that grinds my gears with the this, is the EFL by allowing  and deflecting these claims are culpable and complicit of bringing the game which they are appointed to govern into disrepute.

We have already accepted our punishment. How is it remotely possible to have a system whereby you undergo an investigation by the league, who imposed various sanctions and ultimately awarded a deduction of points to conclude the matter. Only then to be open to further independent ‘legal’ proceedings because of the outcome of the leagues investigation.

Surely the leagues decisions (after any subsequent appeals) and penalties applied should be final otherwise they are not governing.

    Stinks of double jeopardy.

The Administrators met with the Council and informed them that Middlesbrough threatened to sue the EFL if they didn’t deal with us. The EFL then deflected those claims and assisted Boro in bringing their claims against us

OMG… protecting their own ass and deflected it our way and have the temerity to say they are unaware of any detail.

So they lit the fuse and are standing well back … of course, we all know there is no vendetta and they are truly impartial ?

The second page says no bidders have been presented to the EFL?

Is this more disingenuous information, ie no bidder has been identified who is prepared to underwrite the claims being made by boro and Wycombe? But the EFL are spinning this to make it appear that quantuma have not been doing anything?

I think that’s probably correct, whilst they may have decided on a PB, that bid may be not be formalised until the Boro/WW claims are withdrawn as the potential PB doesn’t want to be liable for any spurious ‘liabilities’..I also believe the EFL stated that they needed to be ‘sorted’ before they will consider a PB

Classic catch 22.. which is suffocating the club

I agree and that's the crux.  It's the law of the land and as such the EFL must, in my view be compliant.  If I read this all right, they're not so should be held to account.  They can apply their own rules about how clubs are run etc, (to a degree of course but that's a whole different topic re victimisation, inconsistency, independent regulation etc) but where their rules / processes breach UK law then they must be pulled up for it.  No organisation should be above the law. If you don't comply with law, then you get fined or have any license to operate revoked.

… ahh but they have previous with this. Remember the amortisation issue… we allegedly used an acceptable legal accounting model, but not a model that they agreed with even though they didn’t specify what an acceptable model should be…

Just Listened to Sportscene from last night-really well presented and the situation explained-Whilst we hardly warrant any airtime with national media this was excellent from Radio Derby-Well worth a listen if you can

We just need them to gather support from the wider national media…. Come on Ed Dawes, Chris Coles and especially Colin Gibson… now is your time as journalists and presenters to seek a wider audience to this poo-housery

The statement is out and it all boils down to the EFL insisting on the Middlesbrough and Wycombe claims being sorted before purchase.

Three bids on the table but we cannot move on them.

    The EFL have won.

… and the reason being they know if they allow it wait until a potential new owner is in place the claims will be blown out of the water as unmerited, without precedent and baseless… however they are willing to sacrifice a club and it’s community in this ridiculous roadblock  standoff… how the duck do they sleep at night

I’m going to assume it’s taking a lot of time and thought . A lot has happened today for them to explain and I would assume they aren’t stupid enough to realise a 4 line ‘progress is being made’ type comment is going to wash today. I’d expect something to be released by 7pm though.

They’re probably trying to figure out who they hand the keys to when they turn the lights out for the last time ..

And some say don’t go to Boro game and make sure we are respectful ??? I say fill the away end and give Gibson non stop reminders of what he’s helping to happen …it’s a disgrace that another chairman is on the board and making outrageous claims against our club and think this is the hold up ….feel like we are not only getting kicked whilst we are down but also poo’d on from a great height ??? outrageous and my blood is literally boiling!!!! We are in big trouble I fear ?

We may not have a team to follow if the abjectly complicit EFL have their way… it truly is pitchforks out time
