That aged well, they're not the worst team we've ever played in a league match now, surely Bristol Rovers have now taken over that mantel.................................until the next team we beat?

No, Port Vale are the worst team we've played all season. Good win today, Warne at his best. I still stand by my criticisms.

Where’s all the “it doesn’t matter if we’ve played 2 extra games, we’re second in the league” lot gone? Barnsley win their’s and we’re 4th.

Well done to Warne though for beating perhaps the worst team we’ve ever played in a league match though.

Yep you have ( so pretty much since he walked through the door ), win lose draw , top 2 scorers in division, about the same defensively , scored some cracking goals in terms of passing , there are some who state warne faults in they’re eyes who in listen to and see some points , your not one of those ,,, not a single positive thing to say and you disappear when we are winning then turn up full of glee filling threads if we so much as drop a point 😂😂😂😂

I've never seen you try and understand or give any sort of rational response to people who give genuine criticisms. You just turn up insulting and laughing at people.

🤣 have you seen the injury list this season?

Good point. I was referring to their energy levels while they're not injured😆.

The amount of running and brutishness Warne demands our striker does makes it almost inevitable that they all get injured at some point.

The away form for starters, IMO the defence, bringing in Nels and Nyambe have helped with this

How bad would you have to be for the defence to get worse when you often play with only one or two natural attacking players?

well, yes. it's been going on for so long, and we all know the players are capable of better as the majority of the squad have been competant championship players. It therefore has to be the coaching, or lack of.

whats warne actually done ? can you list some things he's definetely improved?

The one thing Warne has improved is the fitness levels, which has resulted in us getting a lot of late goals and out fighting teams. It makes sense considering he's a Fitness Coach. I'd be happy if he was our Fitness Coach.

Adams has provided much needed midfield steel… but he ain’t it.

Just not good enough on the ball.

He shouldn’t be on the ball that much. He should be playing at the base of a midfield 3, freeing Hourihane and Bird from defensive duty’s. Don’t care what anyone says, Hourihane and Bird are the best two midfielders in the league if played the correct way.

People believe we have the best squad in the division and should be achieving more, but it doesn’t really add up. This is a League 1 group of players with the kind of limitations that are rampant at this level. Players don’t make the mistakes ours do and switch off in the way ours do with the same regularity in the Championship and above.

And how would you stop players switching off in games? Maybe through coaching perhaps? by the coach? You know the job they're paid to do.

It's not even true our players switch off anyway. Considering we got the majority of our players from the Championship, you're saying they just instantly lost they ability to stay switched on as soon as they got here?

There are four ways five-at-the-back works.

You use it if your midfield is poor but you have ball-playing centre-halves - so your defenders are keeping the ball.

You use it if you have underlapping wide centre-halves.

You use it in a one off match in which you know you’re soaking up loads of pressure.

Or you use it if you have an insane sweeper.

    We’re none of these.

5 at the back formations are generally simpler and less sophisticated than others. They are also out of date, and have been for about 6/7 years when Conte was using it at Chelsea and Wilder was at Sheff Utd. The only teams that use to some level of success now are Wolves and Brentford, and they use it mainly to counter-attack given the opposition they usually play.

  10. He's just refusing to let the 5 at the back go. It doesn't work and it doesn't suit our club. I honestly think he's persisting with it because its the only system he fully understands. Even when we play with a back 4 it feels like there's large tactical elements just missing from our play like Warne just doesn't know how to play it fully.

We seem to fear every other team in the 3rd division.
we never seem to be on top in games

Exactly this. We never dominate teams or impose an identity. Warne sets us up with so much fear it gives every team we play a chance, even if they shouldn't have one. Because of this I'm never really that shocked when we lose a game, even though it doesn't happen often.

Five at the back doesn’t really work for us. I actually thought Bradley was the weakest of the back three and was amazed he got MOM.

He was okay for sure but Nelson and Cashin were solid.

Nyambe and Elder are not attackers, they’re defensive fullbacks.

Shout out to Korey Smith and Paul Warne. Smith brought a degree of calm to the midfield and it was his raking pass that set up the goal.

What are you shouting out Warne for? Setting us up in a formation that, as you say, doesn't work for us?
