  1. Routine win for Bolton i think although we did not beat them in both games this season so who knows

What i do know is  if we cant beat Cambridge and Carlisle in our last two games we only have our selves to blame because i am not that confident we would make it through the play offs

  2. Tough Tough game this even more so now with all three nearest challengers all won yesterday

We really need something from the game and i would snatch your hand off right now for a draw,if we do happen to lose hopefully it will not be a big loss as Bolton are now only 4 goals behind us in the GD column and scored more goals than us it could be that tight come the end of the season

Armchair supporter tonight after the game got moved for TV,COYR

  3. Massive opportunity for us here, with all the sides around us not playing due to international break we could open up a decent gap of points (7) between us and our nearest rival which inevitably puts more pressure on the chasing pack

Hopefully we can get through the next few weeks injury free and get Collins back as our target man assuming Gayle is deffo out,no news on this yet

  4. A draw is a good result for us, many a twist and turn yet to come before the end of the season.

10 games left i think a bare minimum is to get 20 points from these games would give us 89 points in total, this may just be enough but it does show how tough this is going to be,sorry to say if its the playoffs for us i just cant see us doing it

My prediction is that Warne is going to go this time next year … promotion or no promotion.

If we don’t go up Clowes is going to give Warne another chance due to the length of his contract. If we go up the style of football is going to put us in the bottom three of the Championship.

The most disappointing thing (and I agree with Daren Robinson) is I no longer know what the football, recruitment, and academy philosophy and strategy is at DCFC.

Think you may be correct i cant see Clowes paying off two more years of Warne and staffs contracts so i think we may be stuck with him

Who knows he may pull it off and we go up,however week after week i see the same old turge on the field and it is know starting to catch up with us,it sounds crazy but i am not even that confident we will win Saturday against the league worst form Club

Just sick of three at the back and literally playing 5 in defense at home, its awful football we are playing at present

Wildsmith is out of contract at the end of the season isn't he? Wonder if he has a new contract lined up somewhere else. Could that be why he got dropped?

More likely we have not yet offered a new contract yet going forward so he may be looking elsewhere, might be one of the reasons Warne  dropped him apart from the errors that as crept in to his game, luckily we got out of jail at Oxford but did not last night and you could say Peterborough at home he did not cover himself in glory, small margins yes but these mistakes start to add up points wise

Currently the worst performing club in League 1.

As for predicting the starting 11………………I’ve given up on that one! 👍😁

And then they got to play Derby we can see were this is going to go,last night was just a prelude

I know we are all focusing on Cashin last night but the strange thing for me is that NML was having a bang average game and yet we kept punting it out to him, even when Corey Blackett Smith came on. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing again and again and expecting a different result.

This team should be so much better than it is, in the like of Cashin, Nelson, NML, Gayle, Hourihane (supposedly), Bird we have stand out players in this league throughout our team. We should be tearing it a new one. And that is not arrogant or "we're a big club in the wrong division" it is just that with these players we should not be letting teams like Wycombe, Charlton, Shrewsbury, Lincoln, Reading take points off us. Currently, we are nowhere near top two quality yet we should be eating this league alive.

Spot on with your comments and what i look at every game is how many players of the opposition would get in to our starting 11,last night you would argue zero, perhaps Alfie May although he was only a sub for them.

  9. Yet another awful performance one shot on target against a team that cant buy a win is shocking

Fair play to Charlton they came and did enough to upset us and take the 3 points,my issue is the way we are playing and its not just been the last few games we are bang average at best and being second in this league just shows how poor this division is this season

Im afraid if we do not get in the autos which on recent performances is unlikely i do not fancy us at all in the playoffs.

No way will Warne get sacked so its suck it up im afraid but surely you would expect a change if we do not go up unless Clowes sees us making the playoffs as a massive achievement,i like most think with a better Manager/Coach we would romp this league this season

'As a league, there isn't a great deal of difference between the teams'.

Well Paul, I have never managed or even played football at or above semi-pro level, but there is quite a significant difference in every league between the teams competing. Always has been, always will be. Take on board we are in the top 4 teams in this league, and act confidently accordingly.

Yes i have to agree with you,to be honest i am quite nervous about tonight, there last two performances against Portsmouth and Bolton have been top draws

I suspect Warne will start with three at the back in a dull game and at half time change our shape, then say at full time he got the tactics wrong again.

We need to be picking up 6 points this week no excuses and go 4-3-3 and try and win a game instead of trying not to lose

So for those he rate him and feel he's been hard done by, what level of player do you feel we'd be looking at if he had a proper run of games in his best position? Because if he's as good as some of you seem to think, he should be standing out as way too good for League One.

Great squad player to have around but he as had numerous managers at Derby and he as impressed none of them to warrant a run in the team, yes there is a argument about playing in different positions for sure however in all the games i have seen him play i never thought he was the stand out player, far from it

We gave them a business plan and then had it re-shifted before the September transfer window finished as it was apparent there was a fair difference in what the club wanted to spend on wages and what they would have to , we then fiddled with it again before the January window finished.  I can't stand the EFL but if we're looking to review it again, they'll probably say no and that will be down to the club as they proposed the original outline.   I suspect Gayle will need to trim his demands to match the maximum wage we could have utilised in January and take a 6 month contract which will be looked at in the summer.

Think you may be correct and to be honest i think he will get a better contract offer than we could at this moment in time, hope i am wrong but lets see

At the end of the day we have made a rod for our own back by not getting cover for Collins in the January window this could now come back to bite in the backside, even if either Washington or Waghorn get fit come the end of Feb it will be two or three games on top of that to get 90 min match fitness back

Reckon it’s a tough game tonight and the forum an even tougher read if we get anything less than 3 points ,

    coyr

As tough as it gets for a midweek game given there recent form, before Saturday i would of taken a point tonight but after another indifferent performance at the weekend a draw is probably not good enough tonight

Joining the party late on this thread and haven't read any posts, apologies if there's repetition. My view is that the central midfielders we have in the squad are strong for this level. However, playing just 2 is not enough to get control or play to their strengths.

I think we should be looking at a 4-3-3 which I think would be better suited to our personnel right now and give us another body in the middle of the park to gain control. We could still have width through the front three and overlaps from the full backs.

As it is we don't have numbers to play through the middle so our tactic of 'get it wide' is too predictable and easy to combat.

We can all see the problem apart from a certain Mr warne

  15. Looking back to Saturday that was a god dam awful performance apart from two pieces of good football that managed to get us over the line

We have been poor for weeks to be honest and against better opposition we will get found out (Peterborough),Hopefully Mr Warne can see we are being run ragged by poor sides in midfield and when he finally changed things and bought Fornah and Thompson on we did look slightly better

I do think we are at least a couple of decent players short of a top two side but have we got finances to do anything come end of Jan,time will tell

Looked like they were very unlucky to lose at a Bolton and have been on a great run, will need a big reaction from Tuesday to get 3 points

Yes i mentioned this in a post a day or so ago,i have a relation who is a Bolton season ticket holder and he reckoned Cheltenham was one of the best sides he had seen at home and they were very fortunate to beat them 1-0.

However if we do not get the three points here then forget the top two for me its play offs at best

  17. No i think sometimes the abuse is border line bullying to be fair and not deserved

I dont like to see the brand of football we are playing to be honest however if were winning then thats fine

However with this squad he as at his disposal and the teams in League One this season i think if we do not get promoted i do not think i could stomach another season of him and in this division

I have consistently argued for fans to stop overreacting, because the results and some performances have been good.

What's concerning is that last night imo it's no overreaction  to say it was possibly the most sloppy performance I can recall and in the circumstances as disappointing as it's possible to comprehend.

The chance to go top and we literally appeared to have been on a stag do all weekend. Elder was decent going forward but defensively he was a liability at times and he was our MoTM.

Hourihane misplaced so many passes it was bizarre. Bird is so passive. Wilson toiled energetically but created little. NML looked like he'd been working down the pit all day. Even after constant offside Collins kept running offside do he couldn't be passed to. Barks barely touched it. Sibley looked so weak, slow and pedestrian.

Thompson tried hard but was a bit like an enthusiastic puppy. Cashin kept trying the same dangerous pass out, Nelson seemed off it... just all-around it was frustrating as anything.

TJJ missed a good chance and did nothing else till he pulled up injured again.

We need Fornah to be the player we think he is and get the game by the throat. Nyambe and Wildsmith need to come back. Put players back in their proper position and get the centre midfield taking the ball off the back instead of constantly looking wide.

Fortunately Sat is a very good game to get back on track. No excuses to not win it and address the issues and go again.

All above is a very good assessment certainly from last nights performance

However i have a relation who is a season ticket holder at Bolton and he recons they were more than fortunate to beat them 1-0 last night and were one of the better teams he as seen so dont count your chickens that we will win on Saturday

  19. Managed to gather my thoughts on last nights performance,i though we played ok to be fair given that the pitch is not allowing that perfect quick pass we all like to see.

However to gift a two goal lead away in this league is criminal although by the skin of our teeth managed to get the late winner

As for the players i think Elder should never grace our field again he is truly shocking and i am not sure what Warne sees in Vickers in front of Wildsmith in goal although both goals last night was not of Vickers doing,we look a more calm side at the back with Wildsmith in goal

Onwards and upwards but i would like to see a couple of  additions this month i do think we need to freshen our team up a tad
