Millenniumram got a reaction from Ramarena in The Administration Thread
Seems like Rooney quite as soon as he knew Kirchner wasn’t getting the club for certain then. Definitely got to be something in that, it’s the only logical explanation for the timing. He was clearly only willing to stay around with his agent on the board. That always felt dodgy as f***, so this might actually be a good thing.

Well… that’s unexpected.
He’s had plenty of opportunities to quit throughout this shitshow, and nobody would’ve blamed him. But why quit now, when we’ve finally had some good news, and it looks like the mess might finally be clearing up?
I get we’ve had false dawns before, but he’s stuck through them, even when they were clearly nonsensical (Alonso, Kirchner, Sheikh Khaled) to everyone except those accepting the deals. Why choose now to say enough is enough, why Clowes appears the first bidder to actually have the means to complete a deal? It makes no sense. So much for sticking around to rebuild the club.
Not that I can really begrudge him to be fair. He’s done far more than we ever could have asked from him for this club, in terms of uniting the staff, players and fans and keeping us fighting through the darkest days this club has ever seen. He’s no doubt played a big part is it’s potential rescue, and for that we should be eternally grateful. It’s just bizzare timing.
FWIW, I don’t necessarily see this as a huge blow in terms of our future on the pitch. We’ve never really had the chance to see Rooney manage in normal circumstances, so we’ve no idea if he’d have been good enough. I’ve never been personally convinced that he has the tactical acumen, despite his undoubted motivational qualities. From a footballing perspective, I’m pretty indifferent to his departure, it’s just the human element of it that makes me sad.
I’m not convinced Rooney will go on to have a great managerial career, and we may well now appoint someone who turns out to be exactly the right man for the job - getting us promoted at the first attempt. I think Rooney’s time at the club won’t be remembered so much for what happened off the pitch, but for how it conducted himself of it. A class act, such a shame he didn’t want to see the job through.

Millenniumram got a reaction from Crewton in Malcolm Ebiowei yeah? Gone to C Palace.
Oh yeah I agree, just making the point that it’s not exactly a charity case. As an aside, it really is depressing how we’re going to lose a player as talented as him for pretty much nothing. Thanks very much Mel.

Excellent news coming out today. Getting the ground out of the clutches of Mel is incredibly important, hopefully we now never hear from that t*** again. At the very least, our short term future is secure again so we’re not in imminent threat of liquidation. And we finally appear to have a serious bidder with proper proven funds, unlike the clowns that have proceeded him, no pun intended.
Maybe things are finally starting to look up. The key now is to get a deal through before the end of the month, so we can out of contract players tied down.

Dominic Dietrich from BBC Radio Manchester.
@domjdietrich
Can’t believe I’m writing this but 8 years after joining @BBCDerby as a kickoff reporter, I’m now returning as the new Sports Presenter. The weight of this job at such a critical time for #DCFC isn’t lost on me but I can’t wait to start & follow the top work by @_chriscoles_

Lead to believe he’s teaming up with one of the other bidders. Unsure at this point wether it’s AA, MA or SM.

Millenniumram got a reaction from jimtastic56 in The whole squad wants to stay.
It’s sad really, because Davies clearly loves the club - and I’m sure he wants to stay at a place that he himself has said is “his home” now, having been here for so long and been through so much. But at his age, every season could be his last, and he’ll want to make sure he’s got somewhere to play next year. With no resolution to this mess in sight, I’d be very surprised if he doesn’t get a Championship contract in a week or so’s time. He’s still good enough as a backup at that level, and a great character to have in the dressing room.

You have to hand it to Curtis , he loves the club. He really does want to stay. Getting out there to answer questions in front of the Sky cameras and warning that Div 1 is going to be tough. A true leader.

Longer clip, makes some good comments throughout and offers a little more insight from the players perspective. Sounds like he’d like to stay though has to be realistic about his career. Like the fact he says someone needs to put their money where there mouth is, first time someone tied to the club has called it out in the media for one of these “interested parties” to act rather than talk.
