  1. RIP Franny

I feel privileged to have seen you play at the Baseball Ground, although that fight left me a bit stunned at the time - I’d never seen anything like it!

    such a Derby legend

also reflecting on a time a Man City player came from them to us & then we won the top flight for the second time.

Unlike now where we’re thinking it’s progress to get a nil nil draw at home, in the third division

  2. I was both at the match and listened to the Radio Derby interview.

the first half was beyond dreadful. I don’t have the words for it.

the interview really got me. He needs to let his staff take those interviews if he can’t control his words any better, as it will have done untold damage - look how it’s splitting us, so goodness knows how the dressing room will feel.

As a result, people are now calling out players on the basis of what could have been a throw away line that he didn’t even mean.

if Bird was one of the players he was citing, he showed loyalty last season by sticking with us and this is how he’s rewarded - lack of respect.

it goes against everything Warne seems to stand for, in terms of treating people.

Also, appreciate ity very early days, but might Hourihane be one of those players who doesn’t play well when they’re made captain?
I remember a player before who just seemed weighed down by it - sorry can’t remember who!

feel very sad about a mess that could and should have been avoided

the wheels can come off quicker than anyone can say bobble hat - let’s hope we get back on track calmly and quickly

Wondering why there is no tickets on sale for the Man City under 21 game yet when the league game after it has been on sale for a while. Two weeks from today.

I’m the same & even called the ticket office yesterday, but they still didn’t know when they’ll be on sale.

I only caught part of something on Radio Derby about the possibility of rearranging matches due to the International break - so could it be because of that?

I don't think closing the West Stand and not reserving seats for STH is a good idea - OK, I'm biased because I'm being forced to rough it in the East Stand.

The majority of our crowds are season ticket holders and so much of our match day experience is sitting with a group of mates. It's putting a barrier in the way that doesn't need to be there.

Yes I know what you mean, our season tickets are in the East Stand so I have my usual seat tonight & for next week’s cup match too. It does make a difference.

must confess that although I have tickets for both, I am losing track of what competition they are ? we seem to have so many cup matches, or is that just me ?‍♀️

I even managed to bump into our Lord and Saviour David Clowes. I shook his hand and said thanks for making half a million people much happier. He laughed and said I'm much happier too.

My missis looked at me a bit pityingly and called me a "fan boy".

He's so unassuming. Someone else had to point him out to me. You would never spot him in a crowd. Jeans and polo shirt.

    Thanks DC. ???

    I love this post ?

  6. I took my 2 before they started school - over 20 years ago, we all had season tickets . My daughter still has a season ticket with me.

I used to cringe at the language, hand gestures etc when my 2 were young.

it doesn’t have to be like that, to still be a great atmosphere

personally I don’t like all the foul language, so clearly I can’t abide abuse either.

just expressing my views so be nice to me ?

Thanks everybody for the kind comments.

It is great to hear that many plan to attend the game and that those who can't have purchased a donation ticket, I really can not state enough the difference it makes to a community club like Matlock Town.

We are so proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with a club like Derby County and all be part of the Clowes UK family, football truly is the people's game and we are so glad you can now look forward with optimism.

Am I right in thinking that following the club on social media helps too?

ie to help gain any  sponsorship type stuff?

just perhaps something else we can do at no cost
