From a financial POV, why do we always release kits late? They should be done early as most people will want the new kit for holiday. Never understood it tbh

Doesn't want to be here We can't afford his wages for him to be here 1 year left on his contact 2 ACL injuries The fact we're getting money for him to go permanently and we're not just loaning him before he goes for free is a bonus.

Do we honestly think PW and team watched and assessed Ward and thought ‘He’s a bit average but we’ll have him anyway?’
They will have seen potential and an attitude they liked. He has pace and, I suspect, fits into their plan.

On paper it's a good signing and ticks all the boxes as a right wing back in a 3-5-2.
I'll judge his performances in a Derby shirt myself rather than rely on Posh fans, thanks. I've seen enough decent Derby players getting hammered by our own fans to not rely on other people's opinions.

It's steady. I'm not disappointed or thrilled either, just have to see how he plays. What I will say is though... it was on a free, he won't be on a fortune and we didn't have a player who could play in his position in the squad. So for all those reasons, it ticks a lot of boxes.

That's cool thanks.  Sounds like you are negotiating something with the club? Would be great if they gave you a permanent residence.

As many of you know I am one of the original trustees of The Rams Heritage Trust, we are a group of four like minded individuals who have put in a lot of hard work time and expense to try to preserve as much of the history of Derby County Football Club as possible for the next generations of Rams fans.
our wish to have a more permanent home to share this great collection with you all was strengthened when we were invited by the club to put on a display at Pride Park at the beginning of the month.
we were blown away by the interest and support, to say that it was a pop up display with no other events nearby and road closures due to the Ramathon we did not expect many to turn out but they did in their many hundreds over the two days.
we were further supported by the presence of David Clowes and his good lady wife and ex players.
it was hard work setting up and taking down in a short time but so worth it.
we will be doing another event at the Grand Slam Charity cricket match at Spondon Cricket club on the 16th July.
here is a small taster of the display. 👍🐏😍

So why did they call it the Baseball Ground ?
    That’s why !
Derby baseball team, English Baseball Champions circa 1898
I believe that is Steve Bloomer back row who played in the team.

Red has always been part of our heritage, we were wearing red and white as our main kit when Steve Bloomer made his debut, red and white were our colours for five seasons then, long before we ever wore black and white, Hector scored plenty of his goals in the red of Derby, Dave Mackay even lead us out as second division champions to play against Millwall in 1969 wearing the red of Millwall, we borrowed QPRs away shirts for a game !
good news is heritage colours are coming back so keep an eye out for a splash of colour !

That’s partly why the Lee Bonis link from a few weeks back has me intrigued, the new recruitment guy had a few hits with signings from Ireland so I wonder if it’s his suggestion. How good would it be to sign a capable young striker for £2-300k who fires us up the leagues and/or can be sold on at a profit

Derby all too often end up paying the premium for a player’s second or third transfer. About time we unearthed them originally, isn’t it?

No news is simply that, no news,  it’s neither good or bad.

The difference under Warne - and this transfer window - is that nobody knows chuff all. I like that. Of course, as a big fish in a small pond, we'll be linked with all and sundry. From lower league stars to higher league fallen stars.
As much as we all scan this forum for links to exciting players, I'm happy to wait for news of real signings, not speculation.
Very odd, as a departure from Mel waiving his cheque book around for several years and most of us lapping up players who shouldn't have been at our price point, but with Mel's madness actually were.

Watched the playoff final. There was very little quality, buts lots of energy, physicality and aggression. Both sides put a premium on being hard to beat, giving nought away. I could see how they finished in the top six., probably scoring a decent amount of goals from set pieces, managing the ref well, particular Wendies at home. Peterborough we’re the only side to play football in the playoffs but still had physicality where it mattered and we’re ultimately done by a Homer ref who can’t count down 6 mins of Fergie time.
That is what Derby has lacked for years, we’re always the 5’6” medium paced gang who can reportedly caress the ball, if only the likes of Fleetwood would let us. I could have cried when we signed Harvey White to sit in middle with those hairy arsed bruisers Hourihane and Bird. We certainly need more physicality, more pace and height, a set piece and ball over the top threat. And the ability to run box to box for 90 mins. We want other teams to look at our guys and think I don’t fancy this today. Fleetwood came to our place, saw our team of midgets and clearly thought I fancy this today. That was the beginning of the end of our season.
Easy to say, hard to do under the challenging circumstances of the last few years, especially marrying the energy with the quality needed to put the ball in the net. Be interesting to see what Warne can do now with some shackles off. Hope we can keep Didz, suspect he’s hanging out to see what the best offer will be, and that will not be in League 2.

I have used Arsenal as a great example and told David that we have an open invite from the club to go back down, they have set up a fantastic timeline of where the club came from and followed the history through to modern day, great use of lighting and sound adds to the experience, story boards as you walk through, it’s not about trophies it’s a celebration of the heritage, we can include our engineering links with the railways and the aero industry and make it about the people of Derby and how the club has been integral to their lives for the past 140 years, lots of photos and media, we had three screens running over the display on a loop which people just stood and watched, then importantly we will change the exhibits on a regular basis to keep it interesting and include themes such as eras or cup competitions through the season, it can be tied in with the ticket office, the yard and the club shop and of course ground tours, money can be made by the club, the good thing is that we are now up and running, lots of hard work over the years is now coming together, keep watching this space 👍🐏❤️
