Some do, I really don’t. White’s positioning is poor but from this angle I don’t see White playing the man, he runs towards goal, facing the goal with eyes on the ball and their player runs into White’s back. It’s an accidental coming together, or a foul on White for me (and I know others will disagree).
The only thing I’m not sure on is if White does glance over his shoulder at the bloke, not clear from this angle. Either way I still think it’s soft and would say the same if we had a decision like it in our favour. How this is a penalty and McGoldrick being wrestled to the ground wasn’t I don’t get.

They weren't though, were they? Go through those match day threads and you'll remember some of the dodgy decisions. The difference is, people can 'forgive' bad decisions when results are going your way and you move on quicker. When it's costing us points, people will naturally discuss those bad decisions much more.

You won’t be treated like animals by us, we’re just grateful to be playing clubs like Derby. We’re used to Barnet, Hartlepool, Rochdale, etc so are still rubbing our eyes in disbelief when clubs bring more than 200 fans. But we also rub our eyes in disbelief when we see aeroplanes, so it’s not that big a compliment.
    Anyway, enjoy your day out!

Came down to Exeter a few seasons ago to watch Swindon when Timi-Max Elsnik and Kellan Gordon were on loan there. Swindon were flying so sold out their small allocation (it was when the new away end was being built.)
So we stood on the Big Bank with the Exeter fans, great experience as unlike standing in allocated seats, you just move around till you get a good view.
Arrived at the ground via train from Torquay, drank in a little pub just outside the ground and all the locals were very friendly and knowledgeable about football. I think I prefer the "neutral" awaydays to the ones where we are treated like animals because we're with a "big" club, tbh.

Exeter fan here, loads of good tips on this thread already, didn’t realise you were all staying for three weeks.
I’d just add a few things: the poster who said we’re a friendly bunch is spot on, there won’t be any trouble unless you go looking for it which I’m sure you won’t. Avoid the Duke of York in that regard.
The away end will have great pasties but they will sell out quickly, we don’t have the ovens to keep 15,000 pasties warm so please don’t abuse the catering staff, it’s not their fault. Either get there early or eat in town or at the Red Square fanzone which will be very welcoming, even if you’re wearing colours.
Not sure which Exeter will turn up today, and imagine you’ll be saying the same thing. We gave a huge amount of energy in the argyle game on Saturday so some players may be rested, I’m looking forward to seeing our line up. I’m hoping for a good game and a City win (obvs) with a good atmosphere, but if you score twice in the first ten minutes it’ll be a morgue, especially after Saturday’s undeserved defeat to argyle which we’re all still hurting from.
The designated away pub is St Anne’s Well which is a two minute walk to the away turnstiles. And your coaches will drop you off and pick you up from right outside the turnstiles as well.

I really hope you all enjoy your trip to our beautiful city, even after your heavy defeat. Funnily enough I live in Derby so will be travelling down and back today with you all, ha ha.

Yes it is very nice. Well connected (I caught the train to Bristol from here on Saturday). I guess that’s partly why it’s so expensive. We’ve had a good week so far. Lovely afternoon at Sidmouth donkey sanctury today. Didn’t see any of our players warming up there

IF the players came home between games and IF Warne gave them Sunday off, they'll only be doing light training this morning and then travelling down.
On the one hand, a bit less training might do them good; on the other hand it's less likely that Warne will risk another change of formation without practising it on the training field.
But I would. I think the players naturally know how to play a 4231 or similar, and they'd just slot into the groove.
Just get Sibley in there further forward and keep the ball on the ground!

    Wildsmith
    Rooney     Forsyth    Cashin       Roberts
                                    Bird
                       Knight          Sibley
    Dobbin         McGoldrick (C) Barkhuizen
Subs- McGee, Davies, Smith, White, Hourihane, NML, Collins
    - Not sure I could withstand watching Barkhuizen and NML at wing back again, it’s genuinely painful watching Barkhuizen play in such an unnatural role and NML’s a complete liability there, Jamie Ward said on radio Derby if you play him there you may as well play with 10 men and Bristol completely encapsulated that, you completely nullify all his qualities by putting him there, either find someone else to play wing back or don’t play wing backs, pretty simple really. NML’s clearly knackered and has been for months now, his pace could be useful for 20 minutes off the bench though.
    - Would equally be happy with Knight at right back and Rooney in holding midfield, think he could be useful there, but I don’t think Warne has the balls for it so it’s a pipe dream really, get Forsyth back in, he must’ve been involved in about 500 playoff pushes for us which is experience that our defence needs right now, just please don’t start Davies.
    - Mcgoldrick has the option to drop deep and get Knight and Sibley running beyond him, I still think they can both become high scoring midfielders, we should’ve based this team around getting them to do that, we should’ve a long time ago. Extremely doubt Sibley will start, for whatever reason Warne doesn’t like him, it’s so bizarre, especially after the press conference after Oxford where Warne was adamant Sibley had been really consistent for him, yet since Fleetwood, he’s started 1 game, which was at wing back, for the millionth time, why?
    - Would be amazed if Collins starts again, since his goal at Burton on the tenth of December, he has ONE non penalty goal (Wycombe away, correct me if I’m wrong), which is the same amount as Eiran Cashin, Haydon Roberts and Max Bird in that space of time, as well as being less than Knight, Dobbin, Sibley, Barkhuizen, NML and Hourihane.
    - Finding it incredibly hard to get myself up for this game, it’s so predictable, we’ll either dominate the first half, get a slim lead then draw 1-1 because of a failure to react to tactical changes, or we’ll dominate the first half, fail to score and then lose 2-0 because of a failure to react to tactical changes. Though it has to be said that Bristol was refreshing, we dominated for all of 5 minutes in that game, then got absolutely battered for 85 minutes and guess what? Drew 1-1 because of failure to react to tactical changes. Came away with an incredibly fortunate point and then argue we got robbed because of a soft penalty decision, I feel like we robbed them with the draw, can’t bring myself to feel cheated when we were that bad.

Yes Dave, we all like it on the floor and personally I think we’d be a better side if we did more of it. We are underpowered in some areas of the pitch, either because of aging legs or simply physique. Warne could do more I believe. If you’re sharp enough (and some of our players certainly are) you can play round the heavy mob. It’s a strength we have that is under utilised and perhaps the only criticism I have of Warne who has largely done a sound job in other areas.

Well at last that match is over. It makes me want to go and break a few windows, or thump an old person in the face so at least the punishment of watching Derby play is somewhat justified.
So we started by playing the ball on the grass, where Cloughie says it should be played, and we scored., But then what? Bristol upped their tempo after about 20 minutes and it was all over. And what we did was start to hoof the ball long - to the opposition. And then even passing the ball out of defence seemed difficult for us, and often went to the wrong player. On rare occasions we cocked up and played the ball on the floor and actually threatened, but only on very rare occasions.
Actually the ref was pretty ok 1st half, but the EFL must have had their man at Bristol, who popped into the refs changing room at half time because suddenly he was gifting cards out like it was a mass birthday party for Derby players. It actually wasn't a dirty game, with Derby looking the dirtiest because of clumsy challenges, and there was a remarkable lack of malice, which is surprising given who their manager is!
The penalty was give-able because there  player was impeded in the penalty area, but as many have said, is the type of penalty given against us, but never for us. It was certainly softer than the belt in the back given to Jason Knight on Monday! And would have been as soft as the one that could have been given when McGoldrick was pulled down a little earlier, and probably would have been given if he was playing for Bristol. Or any other club who isn't Derby County.
BUT: it wasn't the ref today, because Bristol deserved far more than they got, and we deserved diddly squat because of our dreadful performance, and sitting back once we had gone a goal up. Given that we need to improve our goal difference, sitting back was unforgiveable.
And surely the players themselves have got to have a good sit down and ask themselves what the heck they ere doing this afternoon. Even at League one levels, not being able to pass the ball to your own team-mates for nearly 90 minutes simply isn't good enough.
I shall miss the next home match, against Burton, because I will be at my son's wedding, so at least I will be having good time. I will keep you all in my thoughts, though!

Fair enough Roy, it is all about opinions. I’d say he was chopping and changing players to find the right blend. We’d probably be saying why doesn’t he try X, or he’s fixated on Y if he had just stuck with one basic set up.
As to the openness, what else could he do that he hasn’t done ? . He rarely has a big ref moan, yeah the odd grumble, but he’s not a blame the players/ref excuse maker; he talks freely about the responsibilities of the coaching team, doesn’t lambast players publicly or slate the opposition unduly. He’s the most interesting Derby manager I have listened to for a long time. That  doesn’t equate to genius of course, but you do get an insight in to the man, far more than many of those in recent times.
