Would’ve been good if someone, literally anyone, had warned you the approach to recruitment was poor.

They had to though Bris. No team had ever got promoted to the PL as ill-prepared as we were, bar maybe Blackpool all those years ago.
They needed to make signings and lots of them. Some will be hits some will fail. I honestly think it’s too early to judge really as we’ve not had enough time to judge them yet.
I’d imagine someone like Sean Dyche will be waiting in the wings though 2BH. Ex Forest knows the club..

Bird got a very similar assist versus Plymouth (although was a bit crap otherwise).
I nearly posted before the game about how obvious it was going to be that we’d score and possibly win and all of the “narrative” would be about how Warne has got us firing away from home. Despite as pointed out the performance was barely different to Charlton or Fleetwood and the only difference was a slice of luck.
I don’t mind Warne, I find myself warming to him and I’m a bit more comfortable with him now I don’t feel he’s been brought in as a promotion or bust type manager. But it’s all very predictable. At least by stalls being put out so early, stubbornness will stop the same names starting to put pressure on when we lose a couple of games, which we will.

3rd most shots per game (2nd most inside the box, 5th most inside the 6 yard box), 5th most shots on target per game, most dribbles per game, 2nd most through balls per game, 2nd most crosses per game.
Certainly doesn’t seem very tippy tappy but I agree we tended to have a lot of possession. Maybe the possession allowed us to be amongst the best teams in the league in all of those metrics.

Yeah that is probably right and maybe we did need a fresh face as the longer the away run went on the more mindset would have been affected by the fear of it for want of a better term.
I just didn’t see anything in away performances under Rosenior that made me think the poor run would carry on once we’d got the one goal or win. Incredibly unlucky v both Charlton and Fleetwood. So it’s a bit frustrating to have the away record constantly mentioned as a stick to beat him with dating back to when he wasn’t even manager.

Maybe those who can predict how fans ought or ought not behave should buy a lottery ticket they are so convinced by what they say! ?
If you can't already see a difference between the two managers then fair enough. But those of us who think we can and have a preference are allowed to comment as such, thanks.

I’m a bit more enthused since I’ve heard that Clowes has told Warne to build a long term project in his image, and that it is not a case of get us promoted this season.
However in the very same interview Warne stated it is often fans who choose to sack you rather than an owner i.e. the discontent makes your position untenable. Some were getting restless after 9 games of Rosenior (where imo we had been about as expected overall) so I have little confidence we won’t see the same again.

To be honest I think the zero goals away from home is a red herring because you could probably play those games 100 times over and we would not have 0 goals across them again but never mind.
I don’t think it’s anything to shout about that those numbers are better than ours across this season as we have just replaced the (interim) manager responsible for it. We have so far averaged 0.667 from open play so you are looking at an average of 4-5 more open play goals across an entire season. I just hope that’s enough to not be called “boring”, or “lacking incision” or “football by numbers” or any number of phrases I’ve read to describe our start to the season.

Admittedly I have not made a habit of watching Rotherham games, and, in truth, don’t really mind what style of football we play as long as we have an identity that the whole club works towards, but do think that the more sophisticated your style, the more likely it is that it will translate positively the further up the leagues you go. Now how it translates isn’t so much of an issue at the moment but by giving Warne a 4 year contract you have to assume the hope is it will be something that was considered.
My concern is mostly that in their last two full ish (2019/20 season curtailed after 34 games) seasons at this level, Rotherham have averaged 0.775 goals from open play per game. Nothing wrong with that in and of itself but ideally you would not base a team around scoring from set pieces, in my opinion. Especially as I don’t see too many in our squad I would expect to be getting 5-6 goals in a season from them. We only have one serious CB who is 6ft plus so can we rely on them? I’m not so sure.
I hope I’m wrong, I am warming to Warne based on what I see and hear but I’m just not sure how well that translates.

I take your point and I was only being facetious, I don’t actually agree with PayPal’s position albeit I know next to nothing about the FSU.
But if we are going to say everyone should have freedom of speech without any consequence (I think that seems to be the FSU’s position based on a cursory glance at the website, and, well, their name), then I don’t see how you can stop a private company having freedom to choose who they do business without consequence.
There was something funny to me about an organisation who literally promote everyone being free to say as they choose getting in a tizz about a different organisation simply doing as they choose.
Which circles back to the whole crux of the thread really. Everyone can have freedom of speech. Everyone else can have freedom to judge that and choose what they do to respond.
Perhaps I have the wrong end of the stick.
