Zag zig got a reaction from Carnero in Conor Hourihane - Has left the club
Somewhere I clocked a picture of him sat taking it in, Bradley was the only player alongside him with an arm on his shoulder.
Expect being good pro’s they both knew at that point, Conor going out on a high as you say, but Bradley sort of saying you did it mate (well I looked at it and that’s how I read it).
He’s a top bloke, even getting the team celebration lined up, shows what he mean’t to the others. He kind of had a Trevor Christie end of career impact on us, for that I wish him nothing but the best in the future; he’s part of our history now, however brief his stay.

Zag zig reacted to Boycie in Sibley too good!
Cus he wasn’t very good in my opinion but has reverted to his normal midfield role and has been great.
I guess I’m saying Sibbers isn’t playing in his preferred position and thus not having the chance to impress and build his worth in an AM position duck.

I find posts like this just weird. One of Sibley's many strengths is his ability to run with the ball at his feet, at speed, leaving midfielders of defenders in his wake. He's absolutely no slouch. We are a team whose instructions are to bypass central midfield and play the ball wide at the earliest possible opportunity. If we were prepared to vary our approach and played Sibbo in midfield, then we'd have the threat from the wings and also the threat from the centre.

There was a bit in the latest We Are Derby episode where he looked to be having a moment sat alone in the changing room. I suspect he knew then that he was going out on a high.
I just wish we would have had him a bit earlier on in his career. Terrific player but his legs have just gone now.

Not Warne's biggest fan but I'm very encouraged by this released list.
Will see who comes in now.
He clearly recognises we need an upgrade, hopefully he can deliver it.

But we know we need to be better in midfield , heck most on here vilified CH and early part of the season smith.
think both have their best days behind them, thank them both for what they did for us and we move on to hungrier younger and fitter at what is now a higher level

Personally I think Smith’s a shame as he did a solid job and seemed a good experienced pro to have around, but no room for sentiment I suppose and if there are younger options we can sign with his wages OR provide pathways to the likes of Robinson/Allen etc then I guess there’s sense in it.
He gets a lot of credit from me for being a sort of bargain basement “Carrick” the last two years, did the basics of the game consistently to allow others the opportunity to play.

Hourihane, Waghorn, Gayle, Loach, Wildsmith, Smith leaving.
Barkhuizen, Forsyth, Thompson triggered 12 month extensions.
Collins and Sibley still discussing new deals.
Robinson signed a new 2 year deal.

Collins going is a mistake. Nasty buggers of the bench will be needed.

Transparent about it too, to his credit. Said in an interview that he told the players before the last game that it would be the last time a lot of them played together.
Pro footballers have to roll with the punches as there's little room for sentiment in the modern game. That said, if all those cited as leaving do actually go, there'll be a good few I miss.

Zag zig reacted to Chesterfield_Ram in Dajaune Brown - loan to Gateshead until end of season
Chesterfield fans reckon he's going to join them on loan for next season. I'm not so sure as I recall Warne talking about a team 'at the top of the national league' who weren't convincing at all when they tried to take him on loan last year.
Then again it has been very amusing reading who they think their club are signing this summer with Sam Morsy (just gone up with Ipswich), Liam Cooper (Leeds captain) and Nathan Byrne the 'most' likely according to them.

That the rest of Europe has equally poor taste and will get taken in a feeble attempt to LGBTG shock a result.
It was absolute dog turd and deserves ridicule. Both song and performance.

Zag zig reacted to Tamworthram in Dajaune Brown
My thoughts exactly. He may well be able to make the step up to the championship but let’s not forget, he’s still only made about 20 appearances at senior level - the vast majority of those games being at non league level. Would we be wetting ourselves over any other young player with such a limited senior career if they weren’t already a Derby player?
If Warne, and the rest of the coaching staff that have seen him play and train think he’s ready then bring him in. But, if they’re not yet sure then a loan to a league 1 team (until the end of the year rather than a season long loan?) might be a more prudent way forward. As you say though, dependent on who else we are able to sign in the summer.

Zag zig reacted to Ghost of Clough in Dajaune Brown
I too think he should be in our Championship squad next season. However, I can understand a loan to L1 with a recall option, depending on who we can sign for the first team. At least it would give the club's staff some confidence in whether he could step up to the Championship for the 2nd half of the season.

What an experience for an 18 year old kid playing men's football and becoming their Wembley hero.
Well done Daj!!

Post from a northeast reporter keen for Sunderland to sign and play Dajaune next season. Shows his assist, goal and penalty.
When other teams have hugely promising youth players in a position they need (and the hardest position of all to fill), don't they actually play those youths? Our only other contracted striker is Washington. If you're a defender, you'd far rather defend against CW than an explosive young striker with pace, power and oodles of skill.
I hope Dajaune is given the opportunity to set the Championship alight with us next season.
